1  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Battle.Net = Product Announcement? on: October 07, 2005, 09:03:00 PM
Minor point, I know, but if you look at the html for that page, the last comment says:
<!-- get ready -->

I'm all with the bated breath over here...
2  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / WoW patch today on: April 19, 2005, 04:42:04 PM
"Ancona creature name changed to Ancona Chicken."

Thank god this was finally changed.  This was so confusing, that I cancelled twice.  Having Ancona Chickens named merely "Anconas" was a TK griefers' paradise:
"Look out! I aggroed the chickens!"
" I can't target any chickens!  All I see are these Ancona-things, and they are pecking me to death!  Arrgh!"

It's definitely in The Full Monty, which is an intentional comedy...

Hiya Purge,

Just  FYI, the druid waterform quest actually has a time based element (you have 30 minutes to find a bauble at the bottom of a lake).  It is the only quest that I have seen that is timed, but I personally thought it was a fun quest type.

Does anyone know if there are any other timed quests in the game?

P.S. Was that your Hoofhearted that I saw the other day (yesterday?) in in Hillsbrad?  If so, moo to you sir.

For others, I agree that walla is sort of annoying, but my number one annoyance is rogue.  Hooked on Phonics is teh evil, I tells ya...

I likes me some Nickel Creek, too.  I'll be picking this one up this week some time.  Thanks for the heads up.
8  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Yay, it's snowing! (Updated with pics. Just 'cause) on: October 31, 2004, 07:24:03 PM
Actually, driving around in snow is great fun.  It's when you need to shovel the stuff, or when your car breaks down in it that snow stops seeming so fun...

No, but watch for hidden extensions. (e.g. HARMLESSSOUNDINGTEXTFILENAME.txt.pif) as only the last extension is used to determine what action the OS is to take with the file.

How about conformistocracy, from conformism with the suffix -cracy?

Is ok.  I'm sure Django wasn't offended.

That is the cartoon image of Django Reinhardt from The Triplets of Belleville.  Django was a famous jazz guitarist from turn-of-the-last-century Paris who, incredibly, learned to play guitar with only two good fingers on his left hand.  If you hear any of his recordings, you will be amazed at what he was able to do.

I think there might be some Django in the Mafia soundtrack (it's been a while since I played it.)

So, there you go.
