I went ahead and pre-ordered through Verizon.  It will be replacing my old LG phone, so it will be a pretty big upgrade although makes me wish I would have gotten on the data plans back when it was unlimited.

I used to love MTV.  Last time I watched it was probably late nineties with Real World and Road Rules.

7  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [music] Spotify on: July 25, 2011, 09:24:12 PM
thanks TilLT

looks pretty awesome.   I don't think I would do the paid service though, the free version is good enough for me.  It had almost everything I searched for, sounds good and nice interface.  thumbsup
8  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Netflix splitting DVD and Streaming rental fees... on: July 12, 2011, 08:02:33 PM
I'll probably be dropping the discs from my plan.  I mostly watch over streaming anyways, but it was nice being able to get the disc when it's not being streamed.

I wouldn't mind an invite if someone has an extra.  Google has my interest picqued.

I've started to use this and like it so far.  I'm just using the free 5GB so far, but I'll probably shell out the $20 for unlimited mp3 space.  It's nice purchased music gets automatically transferred over to the cloud, although it would be sweeter if Amazon would transfer over my past purchased music so I wouldn't have to upload all of it.  I don't see a way to add/change cover art either.
12  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Re: Steam Daily Deal on Hold For THE SUMMER SALE! on: July 05, 2011, 05:15:20 PM
Picked up the whole AI War bundle for $4.49.  That's a sweet discount.  thumbsup

Hope things go well for you on the medical front, metal.  That's one thing that sucks with not working is losing my health insurance.  I went and bought some, but it's more expensive and not nearly as good as through my previous employer.  I'm hoping I can stay healthy.
19  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Man, its boring being out of work on: June 18, 2011, 07:30:00 PM
I've been in the unemployment boat for a few months now and I agree with it getting boring.  I wouldn't have thought I'd be bored not working.

I've started working out again and eating healthier.   I finished doing a big cleaning getting rid of stuff I don't use anymore.  Other than that and looking for work, the internet is getting a lot of time.  Haven't done as much gaming as I thought I would do.

I've been thinking to move back to Minnesota to be closer to family if I don't find something soon.  My dad's not in great health and if I feel I should be closer to them so I can help them out.

21  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [movie] Sucker Punch on: March 26, 2011, 11:59:05 AM
I thought it was OK, but pretty forgettable.  Action scenes were the best part, especially the first one.  In retrospect, I would have waited for DVD to see it, but I don't feel robbed of my $15.
22  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Sims Medieval on: March 24, 2011, 05:03:28 PM
I wish it didn't take so long to walk to the Village Shoppe.  It seems to take forever.  Some kind of fast travel would be nice.

Other than that, I'm having fun with it so far.

I'm going to catch this Friday night.  Wasn't planning to, but my friend was buying tickets so I caved.

I finished the main campaign yesterday and really enjoyed it.  Took me 60 hours and I went with an almost pure Ranger build.  Explosive arrows are fantastic, bordering on overpowered I think.  The last fight was pretty tough and lengthy, but my creature and potions helped immensely.

Two nice design choices that I liked were not having to aim precisely with the bow to hit and I could fall from any distance with no damage.   thumbsup
I'll try to finish up the expansion before DA2 hits.

edit: lol, what I thought was the end of the main game was the ending of the expansion. I didn't realize it followed the main part so seamlessly.  icon_lol cool.
ff
kinda makes you wonder where the 'over 100 of hours of playtime' they say the game has is, doesn't it?
I don't see how they get that amount of hours unless going painfully slow.  I didn't have anything left to do at the end except a couple leftover quests.

27  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Dragon Age II - Demo Out Today on: February 23, 2011, 11:57:57 AM
I have no complaints about the demo.  I liked the Mass Effect style dialogue trees and combat was fun as a rogue.  The frequent loading was a little distracting, but good to hear it should be fixed for retail.

I vaguely remember some talk about the banning way back when , but I don't remember exactly why.  That's a long time ago.

Welcome back!

31  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Tr2n trailer(yes that says Tron 2)*sorry bad quality* on: January 01, 2011, 06:20:18 AM
I thought it was pretty good.  Agreed that the story was the weak point, but I liked the 3D.  This was only my second movie I've seen with 3D, so I was pleasantly surprised it looked that good, but maybe IMAX helped.
and normally I'm not a huge Olivia Wilde fan, but she looked way hot.  drool

I haven't had any extra charges with GoG, but was charged a hefty fee with GamersGate awhile back.   I haven't used them since.
34  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Re: Steam Holiday Sale 2010 - IT'S STARTED!!!!1! on: December 22, 2010, 11:48:00 PM
Picked up Recettear, Bully and Railworks.
On the fence with Spore...vanilla was so-so, but the expansion seemed to get pretty good reviews.
35  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: It's the Apocalypse....what's your choice? on: December 15, 2010, 06:46:14 AM
Don't think I'd want aliens or nukes.  Maybe the virus if I'm immune, otherwise no to that.
I might be OK with zombies, if they are the standard slow moving kind.  Hmm...I'll vote zombie.

Just Mad Men S3 on BD - $9.99 at Amazon.

I've been digging this show.  This and Nikita make for good Thursday night TV.

I saw that bit coming:

Spoiler for Hiden:
he seemed to go down a bit too easily, I figured that, even though they tend to move fast with stuff storywise, the brothers aren't that good at killing a 500+ year old vamp (yet)
I was hoping
Spoiler for Hiden:
Elijah would stick around. No pun intended.  Too go out like that would have been a waste.
That was one bad ass judo chop.

Cool news on AoW:SM.  I haven't played it in a long time.  Not sure when I'll get a chance to play it, but it will be nice to get rid of the disc.

New Vegas!
I'd like to play some Castlevania on the 360 too, but that depends on the first game.
