So how does the game compare to original Blops on the MP front?

exactly the same,IMO -only they have made the menus and customisation a tad more confusing and gimped some of the perks

I find they imported the MW3 net code almost entirely. While I had 4 bars nearly every game in black ops and was often picked as host, I'm now regularly on a 2 bar.

Also, you will die many times due to the lag compensation system. My copy is on its way to Amazon for $28. I'm pretty disappointed Treyarch put this in their game.

edit: spelling

MP servers still aren't up, you're not missing much. I only paid $80 for my copy, so not a huge deal if they don't come up... still, I'd like to play some before launch. Bots get boring relatively quickly!

Hopefully mp servers come up soon.

I know where I'm at. It's still frustrating to see things degrade so far.

And honestly, the smug elitist response you take really doesn't make it a place of reasonable discussion. It makes things turn bad, quickly.

My point was maybe we should just lock this thread, step back and chill out a second. Still, thanks for the troll call out. I've been an asshole so often on this forum, its clear I have bad intentions.

Should atb have made this thread? No, of course not. But how far things have gone ( people leaving the forum over this ) ... Is ridiculous.

Getting my copy tonight, but it sounds like the mp servers won't go live til tomorrow morning sadly. >frown

This is great for forum participation guys, I'm sure we are just dragging new people in with this shit talking on both sides. Seriously with this stuff?

I keep having to remind myself I'm at gamingtrend and not some political site. For someone who visits to talk about games all this fighting about politics is crappy to see. I guess I keep forgetting how great the internet is at turning decent guys into flaming trolls. :-[

Edit: On both sides of the fence, not just repubs or dems.

I'll send you an invite if I see you on Kato!

PLAY FLOOD MODE.

That is all. Just wanted to pass that along. Flood is a fantastic game type and a riot to play as a group.

I'll be playing halo tonight til 1030 or so, or whenever my copy of black ops 2 arrives tonight. ;D
9  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Re: Amazon Prime - do they not ship on release day for free? on: November 03, 2012, 07:39:45 PM
I haven't seen the release day shipping for as many games as I did this time last year.

Good luck playing keeper, hopefully it isn't indoor soccer. You'll get your face wrecked on shots taken from 3 yards away there. Been playing soccer for 23 years now, its an amazingly fun game.
11  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Re: [Xbox 360 MP] Halo 4 or Black Ops II? on: October 31, 2012, 04:50:00 PM
I'll get both, but pretty sure ill be putting much more time into black ops 2.
12  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Re: [360/PC/Wii U/Ps3] Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on: October 30, 2012, 01:54:23 PM
"Sorry horse lady".

Yeah, it was funny. Trying to stay not too excited about this game, hopefully it treats me better than mw3.

Even in Michigan we have high wind advisories this week and they have said waves on Lakes Huron and Michigan could reach 30 feet. :o

If that's what's happening this far from the storm, holy shit watch out east coast friends.
14  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Re: [360/PC/PS3] Borderlands 2 on: October 27, 2012, 09:04:40 PM
16 keys now for me, though I've heard a few end game boss fights makes a lot of what comes from the chest useless. Id recommend using them around 50 before you tackle the last boss.
15  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 10/26/12 on: October 26, 2012, 05:40:20 PM
Borderlands 2, Day Z and probably be pressed into playing some mw3 with friends.
16  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Re: Diablo III --Impressions start on page 36 -- on: October 18, 2012, 10:00:53 PM
Loot killed it for me, I just don't see myself going back. I probably had 100+ hours into it.

Gamble your money! Eridium drops from slots, along with weapons, character skins, etc. I thought blowing 10,000 at the slots there to be well worth it.
19  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Re: Re: A solid laptop for gaming, primarily. on: October 01, 2012, 08:19:40 PM
I bought a beast of a laptop about three years ago for $2200 or so. While it has been fine, the performance level is drastically lower than the dell desktop I'm running now that I picked up for 800. What about concealing the desktop in a nice desk that doesn't wreak havoc on her wooden paradise? Throw a fan or two on the inside of the desk and you'll still have airflow to the machine and you won't screw up the look of the house.

Dunno, imo desktop just offers so much more power for much lower cost.

Edit: missed that she doesn't want a desk. How can she not want a desk? ???

If you read the Silmarillion you'll understand why the dwarves are the way they are.

From their creation to their dealings with elves during the time of melkor, much of their existence has been a struggle. They're a tough people because of it.
21  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Re: [PC] Torchlight 2 (Review on pp5) on: September 22, 2012, 08:17:04 PM
I just can't believe a company can make a game with the options in skill trees like this and a game in dev for 10 years like D3 can't come close in terms of customization. I am blown away at how many ways I can spec my character AT LEVEL 15. So far nothing but praise for this game from me. I've been doing everything on veteran so far, too. Normal feels like steamrolling.
22  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Re: [PC] Torchlight 2 (Review on pp5) on: September 22, 2012, 01:20:35 PM
Agreed on the games aesthetics. So much color, the game doesn't take itself too serious like I feel d3 does. Plus, it feels so good to have loot drop for my character that I can actually use!
23  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Re: The Hobbit finds a director on: September 19, 2012, 04:12:41 PM
Having read the hobbit and the silmarillion and lord of the rings more times than I can count on both hands, I am giddy with excitement for the hobbit being released.
24  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Re: DayZ - Arma 2 Zombie Apocalypse Mod! (small AAR story included) on: September 08, 2012, 02:42:51 AM
I'm still playing frequently. Bounce all over but feel free to pm me to play.

Drop rates seem to be way up. Really hoping to find something I can use for a change!
Found an amulet I hope will go around 40m or so for a dps monk. Got through 1.75 paragon levels... So far so good. Though they nerfed wicked wind I don't seem to be dying much using that build still. Act 2 was a relative breeze.
26  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Re: Diablo III --Impressions start on page 36 -- on: August 20, 2012, 04:36:16 PM
Lots of updates on the d3 site as they preview more of the 1.0.4 changes. Most of it looks great, but not sure if they are too little too late for me to continue playing.

Frost, I have a group that plays fairly regular. We are east coasters, usually playing 830/9pm... You're welcome to join up. Add me on steam if you'd like, Nonnahob.

Take him out for a happy meal or a real special treat on the way.

Man, your post really got to me. I've got a two year old beagle who is my best buddy. I feel for you man, I really do. You're doing the right thing.
29  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Re: [360/PC/Ps3] Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on: August 07, 2012, 08:16:00 PM
Agreed with Hark here, IW pissed me off and I played less mw3 than any cod I've played so far.

I'd still rather go play Blops over mw3, but I feel if some real changes aren't made both studios will lose me as a customer.
30  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Re: Time to say good-bye to my best friend. on: August 07, 2012, 01:38:23 PM
Sorry to hear, know what you're doing is in his best interest. It's hard to lose a friend who never gets mad at you and is happy to see you no matter the circumstance. I'm very sorry for your loss!
31  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Re: [Penn State Saga] Sandusky Convicted - PSU football deserves death penalty? on: July 22, 2012, 11:16:16 PM
While I don't think this is Paternos fault entirely, from the information presented it does sound like he could have done more. Being a father, anything less than making sure that what was reported to him never happened again is not doing enough for me.

Paterno should not be a scapegoat. You're right in that his superiors need to be held accountable as well. They, having been informed of what happened, are no more or less responsible for this happening repeatedly.

I feel for the students and the athletes there who are suffering for crimes that they had no part in, but I believe without putting incredibly harsh sanctions on the school (im fine with a 5-10 year "death" penalty) the administration won't take this seriously enough.

Pull the trigger on the envy, it does what you need and you'll have the tv that way as well. That's what I'd do anyway.

ACIII is going to run the same friggin engine sadly. That's my biggest turn off at this point.

The Silmarillion would be so epic if it was done right.
35  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Re: Mass Effect 3 - Impressions Incoming! on: July 17, 2012, 03:39:20 AM
I haven't played in ages but would be game for some multiplayer!
36  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Re: Diablo III --Impressions start on page 36 -- on: July 13, 2012, 02:40:21 PM
Found a great set piece last night that should sell for at least a million gold. Also sold a 1h weapons for 300k and a couple inferno crafting pieces for 200k each. Pretty good night of loot for me!

Game is definitely more fun when playing with a group, I just can't do the solo farming. It bores me to tears.

Yes, negative. I did a personal training program through work and didn't enjoy it at all. I found I felt like I worked out harder on my own than with them. If you need someone to push you it might be a good idea but I feel like if you're mildly knowledgeable you can get it done yourself.
