I think those who are getting annoyed with OO being down are more likely annoyed with the lack of updates regarding progress.  From the outside it looks as though TPTB from OO have been sitting on their asses since the 9th.  That is the part that is bothering me.  It has been expressed time and again that folks would like to know how things are going and if they can help but we still get nothing.  OO, to me, was a place of friendship.  This lack of communication is not an act of friendship.  I fully intend to return but how long I remain after that is anyone's guess.  This silence is creating more of a rift than the downtime could ever make.

Well said.  How much effort would it take to put up a two sentence progress update once a week so we at least know something is happening?
Unfortunately, there is very little to say.  We're awaiting the database so that we can upgrade it to a new forum software.  Gedd asked the question he did earlier because there is a fundamental belief amongst TPTB that OO is not a particularly attractive alternative to PH/GT/GWJ/QT3/etc without its history.

Hey, gents.  Anyone have the link to Sulla's walkthrough?  Back when OO was up, there was a thread there with the link.

(Oh, and hello again!)

Edit: nevermind, I'm officially an idiot.  Who the hell invited this guy?

I am standing in an open field west of a white house, with a boarded front door.

There is a small mailbox here.

G'mornin', everybody.  How are we all feeling today?

I registered a while ago but it's really cool to see everyone looking for each other, even if it is in a Romero zombie like way.

Anyone spoken with Bill?  Perhaps he has some insight into the matter?
5  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / ESPN Pricing Strategy on NHL and NBA: $20? on: July 21, 2004, 04:50:04 PM
Ah, my innaugural CG post and it's potentially great news:

Once again, it appears that an online retailer may have preempted a major announcement from a publisher. Earlier today, began listing both the Xbox and PlayStation 2 versions of ESPN NHL 2K5 and ESPN NBA 2K5 for $19.99. The new price point is the same as for ESPN NFL 2K5, whose discounting sent waves through the industry when it was announced last month.

This is gonna be a heckuva year for sports games.  I hope ESPN grabs some significant market share and turns this into a serious competition.
