I have all of the Gamemaster series.  Axis and Allies, Conquest of the Empire, Fortress America, Shogun, and Broadsides and Boarding Parties.  The last game sucked.

As an adult we know Episode I sucks terribly. I do not think a 5-7 year old would.  I suggest skipping to episode 3 right to the scene where it implies Anakin kills all the children.  Make sure you clearly explain it in case the 5 year old does not get it.

Then, though it's not necessarily important to the discussion, you can tell me why you think the high post-WWII top marginal rate was the determining factor in the post-war economic expansion we enjoyed.

I propose two key things. 1. The GI bill with a massive increase in higher education. 2. Although Rosie the Riveter was put back in her place, the man could not keep her down entirely.

If it is your graphics card, then I would suggest buying a new graphics card and perhaps power supply.  Try them in your existing rig.  If it works, great.  Keep the parts for the later full upgrade.  If not, you have 2 pieces to move forward with.  You would only lose some time.  Intel's Nehalem processor is not too far off.  This should drive the prices of earlier models down even further.

You realize most electronics stores are going to sell that same TV for less than MSRP (which is AT LEAST what the RTO center is selling it for) AND offer something ridiculous like 24 months 0% APR on their credit card, right?  The difference in savings in that vs what you are proposing to do is insane.

RTO only exists for people who have made SUCH poor financial decisions that they can't even get a motherfucking Sears, Circuit City or Best Buy credit card.  Those are the only people who need RTO, and honestly, those are the only people who are actually financially dumb enough to even consider using RTO.

Of course, why I am posting common sense in this thread is beyond me.  I should probably back out now.

The rules of the primaries election were agreed-upon prior to the first ballot ever being cast.  This included the exclusion crappy ballots of FL and MI.  Once Hillary Gore supporters figured out she he was losing, she they started to campaign to change the rules after the game had already been played.  That in itself is absurd and I found her their comments so distasteful and idiotic that I promptly switched to Obama.

What always gets me the most about dealerships is the amount of time they say it will take to do something, I had a recall on the straps to my tailgate and yeah mine had busted before the recall came out it just took me forever to get around to replacing them.  I called up and made the appointment to get them replaced and they said be there around 8am.  I show up at 8am and they ask me if I need a ride back to my job?  I say why it takes less than 5 minutes to change the straps, they expected me to leave my truck there and pick it up at 5pm.  I told them to give me the damn straps and I'll replace them myself which brought about another BS response from them that they had to send the old ones back to get credit for the new ones.  Fine I said give me the new straps and wrench or socket set and I'll do it right in here in front of you myself and you can have your broken straps but I'm not leaving the truck here all day.  The guy finally relented and had a tech drive the truck forward and start on it right then and I was leaving 15 minutes later.

Oh on a lot of cars today that little airdam/deflector isn't going to hurt flow to the radiator, they usually have a separate horizontal one that covers the radiator opening to the underside of the car as well.  They are there more to control noise and aerodynamics than air flow to the engine.  I'm not saying this is the case with all cars but it would be an easy enough thing to test and it's not hard to remove yourself since it is more than likely just held on with a few plastic scrivits, some pliers and a flat head screwdriver will get them out.

Careful.  The secondary may be air flow for you condenser.  Its all well and good until you hit that 90F day.

I wish they would go to what I saw done when I was in England years ago.  The show aired commercial free, and then the 10 minutes after the show, before the next show was commercials.

Was that the case for all British shows?  I'm probably talking about my ass here (maybe metallicorphin can chime in) but I know that a lot of shows are broadcast on BBC which is, I believe, government funded and therefore commercial free while other "private" stations still use regular commercial advertising.

To be honest this was about 12 years ago.  I was on my way to Namibia and had a few day layover in London.  I just remember all the shows we watched had the commercials all slotted after the shows were over.  So say 12:00-12:50 was the show, then 12:50 - 1:00 was the commercials.

The Brits also pay a crap load more for the TVs where said additional money pays for BBC.

One that that really caught my attention in your post was your gf saying "Why am I wasting my time?"

That bothers me.  To me, serious relationships involve two people who really want to be with each other.  You gf's comment makes it sound like she's only using you as a tool to acquire children.  :-/  That would BOTHER me.  In fact that's what bothers me about women and children in relationships in general.  It certainly *seems*, from an outside view, like the priorities in most women's life are:
1) children
2) children
3) children
.
.
.
x) significant other.

I'm just too selfish for that frown  Not sure I could handle not being the most important person in my gf/wife's life.

I also noticed one of the replies mentioned that there was a lot of pressure from friends/family asking when women are going to have kids.   So f'ing what?  Living your life to please other people is never a good idea.  If them asking is bothering you or adding to your stress level tell them to respect your wishes and mind their own business.

To make you feel a little less alien, I don't have any sort of burning desire to have children either... I just don't.
see.
the.
appeal.

However, I haven't totally ruled  it out.  I might have one down the road (certainly no more)

I disagree with the first section of your reply.  Having a family is a huge factor in forming a marriage.  You must think is this the person I would want to raise a child with?  I do not mean to disparage those who do not want to have children.  I have no problem with that view.  I also applaud dedewhale openly stating his opinion.  The question of children/no children is a critical issue with a marriage.  Expectations must be stated and understood.

the one thing I'm not liking so far is the fact you can't do missions using different approaches.  I got the laundrymat mission and decided to case the place before hand.  Seeing the back exit and the van right next to it I figure I'd block it off with a car and went in the front.  Sure enough the guy runs out the back door and my car has magically disappeared and I have no choice but to break into one of the others sitting in the back to commence the chase.  The first time it looked like my target had gotten on the freeway according to the mini map, so I found the on ramp and was greeted with 'he got away'.  The second time I tried stealing his van from the back when I get the 'you spooked him and he ran out the front' message.  At that point I just turned off the system without saving, had a couple of beers, went back and proceeded to fill his van with lead as he tried to escape, taking out all kinds of pedestrians in the process and racking up a nice wanted rating, which disappeared as soon as I caught him.

Later on in another mission the targets car mysteriously appears in a spot that was empty seconds before.  Now it's a car I'd recognize as I just saw it in the mission right before this one, but since it doesn't physically exist I can't have Nico smarten up and try to prevent another chase.

Another thing I noticed last night was that I started to see alot of popup all of a sudden, like in the safehouse where I ran inside and it took a few seconds for everything to appear in it, plus another 'cut scene' where the background took a few seconds to pop in.  this just started last night and I'm hoping it was just a glitch as I hadn't had it before.

One thing that I did find really neat was when I car jacked a muscle car the owner grabbed onto the door and tried to open it as I drove off, then actually hung onto the door as I dragged him a few blocks.  I finally knocked him off by clipping another car, but man, I was LOL'ing the whole time.  I'm also like the Vladistock (or whatever it's called) radio station, but the Social Club still isn't listing any of the songs I tag using ZIT.

In GTA San Andreas where you climb into the bar from the roof and then have to do a car chase, I shot out the tires of their vehicle with a silenced pistol.  When they tried to get away, they were sliding all over the place because of the flat tires.  It was hilarious.  Would that work here?

70  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Portishead - Third on: April 30, 2008, 05:15:41 PM
I have concluded that Third is an appropriate title.  With three albums, Third is in last place from Portishead.  If you want more Portishead, I would suggest buying the Roseland NYC live album over Third.  It doesn't have any new songs over Dummy or Portishead, but it was different enough with the use of an orchestra.
71  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Portishead - Third on: April 28, 2008, 11:16:50 PM
It's different. I never like things in the first listen through.  I hear some sounds and style of the earlier albums.  My initial reaction is disappointment, but I have to listen through an album 2 or 3 times to form an opinion.  Youtube has a video for one of the songs.  It is not the best on the album by far.

74  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Re: Wireless Router Kaput: Which one should I get now? on: April 26, 2008, 10:36:48 PM
If you do a lot of file transfer on your side of the router than maybe you would want the N.  Chances are your WAN connection is less than 10 Mbit.  You could pay $180 for N or pay about $50 for a G.  If the G lasts for 3 years or so, you will probably by able to buy a N for about $50 then.  Save your money.  Go with a WRT54G ($40) or WRT54GL ($60) at NewEgg.

Over the many years and many computers, I must say I have been pleased with Logitech and its products.  I have logitech speakers, keyboard, mice, web cam, game pad, and today I add a Harmony remote.  Logitech just seems to have their act together.  I am more loyal to the dollar than to brands, but Logitech has earned a "first look" in by book.  If the price difference between alternates is very small, I would likely go with Logitech.

... Despite the fact that their software generally sucks.
