It is quite reasonable on Steam (I think $20) which seems fair even though it is quite an old game.

Yup, $20 for the base game or you can get a bundle with all the DLC for $40. And what that bundle gets you is the 'Special Edition' that is coming out at the end of October for free.  nod

Think I'll just stick with the base game.

Dang, realized after I posted that that I only have Skyrim on the 360. Wondering if I can grab it off Steam or elsewhere for cheaps now. Off to check!

And the final part, Part 4: The Crown of Kings, launches Sept 15th.

The trailer is here and some of the new features:

  • Hand-drawn 3D buildings for you to explore, inside and out.
  • Disguises will let you blend in with the people of Mampang - but be warned, they might not like who you're pretending to be...
  • New artwork from series regulars Mike Schley (maps), Eddie Sharam (monsters) and John Blanche (original art), and a new orchestral theme from composer Laurence Chapman.
  • Multiple endings, multiple goals - can you save Analand? Become the next Archmage? Find love? Die in peace - or live a cursed life?

A list of fixes and workarounds is on RPS and also has the instructions on how to get the "experimental" version of the game on Steam that TiLT mentioned. Comments were on topic until someone said "My main issue is gameplay" and it was all downhill from there.  Roll Eyes

The official story I heard was that after working all of this out and getting everything agreed to sans parachute, "they" wanted to force him to wear one after he got on the plane. His worry with the canister it apparently sits in was that it would cause him harm when he hit the net. They... negotiated... and he left the plane without it.

Moving files/docs/pics/etc.. are simple to move.
Keep in mind though, that you can't move any programs and these need to be reinstalled from scratch.

I know in the past I've used utilities to move installed programs to new locations, ones that also update the registry entries at the same time so you don't have to reinstall. However, it's been a hellofa long time ago... do they not still exist?

Patched. One addition - an "easier easy mode" if you want to dial back the combat.

Spoiler for Hiden:
This patch contains a number of bug fixes and commonly asked for gameplay improvements. Thanks for all of your comments and feedback - we have been listening carefully!

Here's the full patch notes:

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed a bug where you could be blocked in the "Under Threat" main quest.
  • Fixed an item duplication exploit
  • Fixed a bug preventing to complete the tutorial if you changed the binding before starting it
  • Fixed a bug where the wrong button was shown during the tutorial with a PS4 controller on PC
  • Fixed animation bugs on the character
  • Fixed two bugs preventing to complete side quests "Crowd of beggar" and "Extortion under threat" after fleeing from Ophir
  • Minor bug fixes
  • Stability improvements
  • Minor UI improvements

Gameplay:

  • Implementation of a key that toggles walking or running, bound on "Caps Lock" by default
  • Rework on the loot/drain binding system in keyboard/mouse controls: Loot will now always be bound on "interaction 1" (E) and drain on "interaction 2" (Q)
  • 'Easier' Easy Mode - Following player feedback, we've reworked Easy difficulty to be more accessible. This is ideal for anyone who wants to enjoy the story without investing too much time into combat.

Any links to share? The official site has no text descriptions, just a trailer and some gifs so not quite sure what it is all about.

Apparently, there's a lot to spoil, so everyone is being very dodgy about what to say.

Once I saw my third 9/10 yesterday morning, I pre-ordered (it's actually out today).

Gotcha... thanks.

Looks great.  I hope it can maintain the atmosphere without the annoyance I remember of weapons breaking so quickly.

I think that was System Shock 2; the first one didn't have any weapon degradation, IIRC.

Yup, that was 2 and eventually patched so you could tone it down.

Thanks. Silly question perhaps in this day and age but now I'm wondering if there is anything in the way of a manual or guide for the game? My character is fully aware of the current situation and what the zones are - red, yellow, whatever - but me myself, the person playing the character has no freaking clue yet. Just hooked up with the underground folks, have a gun and am going out into a "Red Zone" for the first time. Anything you found that helped?

It seems to me that unless you are going the VR route, or really really really want upgraded resolution (4K rumored), staying with the current PS4 is fine.   Im still on the fence for VR, as I haven't seen games/apps that make it a must yet.   Still, looks like the consoles are embracing it.

We'll have to see what the reality of the games is for different platforms.

Even without a 4K TV, if you can get full 1080p resolution at 60fps with higher resolution textures and better post processing on the NEO I would be happy with that over a regular PS4 being slightly downscaled from event the current PC build.

I'm still finding this whole situation offensive.

Meanwhile, the PS4 is still facing a storage issue that needs to be fixed last year.

While they should upgrade the base store model, the PS4 storage is easily upgradeable at a low cost.

Up to 2tb internally, no limit externally.  I see a 4tb 2.5" drive, and at the same $/GB price as the 2tb drives but it's too thick (15mm vs the 9.5mm HD bay)

That was one of the first things I did with mine, swap in a 2TB drive and it was entirely painless.

If anyone cares, they put up a preview video of the Summer Update coming soon.

Sadly, I pretty much only turn my Xbox One on when there's an update. My biggest issue with them is they have been focused on the "social" aspect of the console, that or the TV integration, neither of which have hardly any use for me. Yes, that makes me a non-social does not party or multi curmudgeon of a single player gamer, but hey... that's me all over.  nod

So leaving out crap like "Facebook Friends Finder", at least this time they addressed some non-social aspects of their silly interface:

Manage my collection was really needed
Alphabetic groups helps
Ready to Install moved to the left pane
My Games and Apps on the home screen
Combining stores on Xbox and W10

Oh, and Cortana. I have a Kinect but have never had much desire to talk to my Xbox. However, it is a positive step and as they noted, brings consistency across their three platforms.

With my limited gaming time, I can have a hard time if I don't stay on top of a game and instead indulge my "ooo, shiny!" instinct and hop around to other games. I really appreciate when one takes the extra effort to give me a synopsis of "the story so far", or what was going on and what your goals were when you saved / stopped.

I had a bit of a problem with DOOM and its large levels at first but that was because I wasn't checking the map like I should have. Once I started doing that, with all of the information it brings, I spent less time wandering around lost. Less. icon_wink

Funny but when I went to GMG on Saturday for the discount it was "out of stock"... and not knowing when they would get more keys I just did the "stop by BB after lunch and get my Unlocked discount on a DVD with no game on it plus the Steam key on a piece of paper" thing. LOL
74  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4] Shadwen - stealth action from Frozenbyte on: May 16, 2016, 12:59:19 PM
Yeah, that really threw me when I first started it up since I had no idea about it going in. Changed one of the options before launching and got a dire warning that it could cause horrendous performance issues so use with caution. Figured okay, fine, got a nice big rig so lets go for it - watch the low-rez intro for the demo and then I'm greeted with what looked like a stuck / frozen game to me. Waited a bit and... nothing. Thought about quitting and dialing down that option but finally touched a movement key and I get a couple of frames. Move, stop, move, stop. Oh, okay, gotcha. That's... different.  icon_confused

Gonna stick with Engine's "interesting but I don't know that I want to play it for real" at the moment.
