Everything I'm hearing about Inside is that it seems like it is amazing and even way better than Limbo.

Any links to share? The official site has no text descriptions, just a trailer and some gifs so not quite sure what it is all about.

Apparently, there's a lot to spoil, so everyone is being very dodgy about what to say.

Once I saw my third 9/10 yesterday morning, I pre-ordered (it's actually out today).

Gotcha... thanks.

The demo is a bit wonky, but that's not surprising this early in the game. Looks great so far.

Backed for $25.

Looks great.  I hope it can maintain the atmosphere without the annoyance I remember of weapons breaking so quickly.

I think that was System Shock 2; the first one didn't have any weapon degradation, IIRC.

Yup, that was 2 and eventually patched so you could tone it down.

Thanks. Silly question perhaps in this day and age but now I'm wondering if there is anything in the way of a manual or guide for the game? My character is fully aware of the current situation and what the zones are - red, yellow, whatever - but me myself, the person playing the character has no freaking clue yet. Just hooked up with the underground folks, have a gun and am going out into a "Red Zone" for the first time. Anything you found that helped?

It seems to me that unless you are going the VR route, or really really really want upgraded resolution (4K rumored), staying with the current PS4 is fine.   Im still on the fence for VR, as I haven't seen games/apps that make it a must yet.   Still, looks like the consoles are embracing it.

We'll have to see what the reality of the games is for different platforms.

Even without a 4K TV, if you can get full 1080p resolution at 60fps with higher resolution textures and better post processing on the NEO I would be happy with that over a regular PS4 being slightly downscaled from event the current PC build.

I'm still finding this whole situation offensive.

Meanwhile, the PS4 is still facing a storage issue that needs to be fixed last year.

While they should upgrade the base store model, the PS4 storage is easily upgradeable at a low cost.

Up to 2tb internally, no limit externally.  I see a 4tb 2.5" drive, and at the same $/GB price as the 2tb drives but it's too thick (15mm vs the 9.5mm HD bay)

That was one of the first things I did with mine, swap in a 2TB drive and it was entirely painless.

If anyone cares, they put up a preview video of the Summer Update coming soon.

Sadly, I pretty much only turn my Xbox One on when there's an update. My biggest issue with them is they have been focused on the "social" aspect of the console, that or the TV integration, neither of which have hardly any use for me. Yes, that makes me a non-social does not party or multi curmudgeon of a single player gamer, but hey... that's me all over.  nod

So leaving out crap like "Facebook Friends Finder", at least this time they addressed some non-social aspects of their silly interface:

Manage my collection was really needed
Alphabetic groups helps
Ready to Install moved to the left pane
My Games and Apps on the home screen
Combining stores on Xbox and W10

Oh, and Cortana. I have a Kinect but have never had much desire to talk to my Xbox. However, it is a positive step and as they noted, brings consistency across their three platforms.

Holy crap, origin and end all in the same episode... and rhetorical question in this 'verse but is no-one safe? Figured they were pretty well f**ked but wasn't expecting that. And what was up with the killing of a White Walker with what I thought was just a crappy little spear? Valerian steel tip? Made by The Children for that purpose? Was shocked when she chucked it and it actually worked. eek

With my limited gaming time, I can have a hard time if I don't stay on top of a game and instead indulge my "ooo, shiny!" instinct and hop around to other games. I really appreciate when one takes the extra effort to give me a synopsis of "the story so far", or what was going on and what your goals were when you saved / stopped.

I had a bit of a problem with DOOM and its large levels at first but that was because I wasn't checking the map like I should have. Once I started doing that, with all of the information it brings, I spent less time wandering around lost. Less. icon_wink

Hearing enough good things about Doom that I may give it a shot.  Trying to decide between PC or PS4 though...

PC it is...20% off at GMG was too much to resist.  Downloading now.

Funny but when I went to GMG on Saturday for the discount it was "out of stock"... and not knowing when they would get more keys I just did the "stop by BB after lunch and get my Unlocked discount on a DVD with no game on it plus the Steam key on a piece of paper" thing. LOL
19  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4] Shadwen - stealth action from Frozenbyte on: May 16, 2016, 12:59:19 PM
Yeah, that really threw me when I first started it up since I had no idea about it going in. Changed one of the options before launching and got a dire warning that it could cause horrendous performance issues so use with caution. Figured okay, fine, got a nice big rig so lets go for it - watch the low-rez intro for the demo and then I'm greeted with what looked like a stuck / frozen game to me. Waited a bit and... nothing. Thought about quitting and dialing down that option but finally touched a movement key and I get a couple of frames. Move, stop, move, stop. Oh, okay, gotcha. That's... different.  icon_confused

Gonna stick with Engine's "interesting but I don't know that I want to play it for real" at the moment.

I just got my Windows 10 version installed last night but haven't played, only saw that it sync'd up saves and I could have picked up from where I'd left off on the Xbox.  thumbsup

Only 'issues' I had at first were, okay you just installed but where did you install yourself? Never asked, turns out the default location for where 'apps' are saved is the C: drive of course, which is definitely not where I wanted it. Thankfully you can 'Move' them after the fact. Then there was the whole 'How in the heck do I quit?' moment... was using a 360 controller and finally figured out I had to grab the mouse and shove it up into the upper right-hand corner and then click on the 'x' in the title bar. Errr, okay.

Oh, and part way through Act 1 on Normal I decided to start over on Easy as I mostly just wanted to enjoy the story and minimize the combat. Rittchard, seem to recall you wondering if you can die on easy - the answer is yes, yes you can. In the parking lot trying to get Will's car, it seems that the car I was hunkered down behind blowed up or some such thing. Dead. Try again, Time Lord, try again. icon_neutral

Finished Act 1 late last night and was surprised how long the 'tv episode' was. Streamed down without issues, very nicely done.

Back in 1999 when Activision was about to release Heavy Gear II, they had a contest which I won. Got a signed copy of a "gold master" for the game and a box full of swag, primarily a video card (3dfx Voodoo something?) and other stuff I don't really recall.
