they may get more people biting on Kickstarter since the company won't see anything unless it hits the goal.
Based on how little they've gotten so far, this one is doomed to failure. I'm not surprised. Dyack's name is toxic. He's like the Orson Welles of video games, if Orson Welles hadn't made anything good after Citizen Kane. Yah, that and the fact that (as noted) all you are guaranteed is the "Pilot" episode with "the possibility of more episodes based on the success of our campaign". I've backed many projects on Kickstarter but both of these things are keeping me away from this one. Unfortunately that means that I'm not "contributing to their success" so people in the same boat as I am are helping to doom it to failure. Ah well. Come back with a full, stand-alone sequel and I'd be all over it.

I can't believe what I just found doing some basement cleaning... three Steve Jackson's Sorcery! books and The Sorcery Spell Book all in very good if a bit yellow condition. Sheesh. I was hoping there were only three but turns out there were four: Sorcery 1: The Shamutanti Hills Sorcery 2: Khare - Cityport of Traps Sorcery 3: The Seven Serpents Sorcery 4: The Crown of Kings (no clue if lost or not purchased) The Spell Book will come in handy for the new iPad version.

even if, well, I never got to see a bow or arrow. Curious what that means as there was plenty of arrow action in the finale. Or maybe I don't want to know.

That's how it works, they go with the breasts. My wife went through this about 12 years ago and had to make fun decisions like - Do I get implants? Do I get nipples? The former is painful as hell because they have to stretch out the muscle to put them under (sometimes moving muscle from other areas; back, stomach) no idea on the second as she decided no. They either 'rebuild' them from other tissue and/or tattoo them. Well... interesting. I guess things can change on that when it is an elective surgery rather than cancer related.

Have they said what the FOV is? The default for 2033 was 45 (it was measured vertically rather than horizontally like most games) and I changed it to 60. However, given they probably set this up so it would look ok on the consoles, I'm guessing it's similar to the first game. Not sure why changing it in the first game is OK but not this one. There are all the animations they seem to be talking about like looking at the watch and stuff.
From the user.cfg file after the update: r_base_fov 50.625

Thanks... hopefully I'll have some time to check it out at the end of the month. Right now between a complete kitchen gut-and-remodel that starts in a week and a three-year work project that went live this month, I have very little spare time... or more like very little spare brain.

So what's the verdict on this? How has their support of this been? AA's write-up in the Weekend Playlist thread sounded interesting (was that a Deep Ocean adventure?) and sadly this is sitting in my Steam game list, never played. I'm well aware of the DRM so really just looking for a general impression of the game itself a year later... and what if any DLC might be worth investing in. During a Steam sale.

Funny how the top 9 "Ace of Aces" for the British all have the same score: 9,223,372,036,854,775,807... and yes, I'm aware of the significance of the number. I guess it's a known iOS / Gamecenter hack / exploit.

So, the lead up to season finale has definitely gotten interesting. Agreed. Another word might be... messy. Went into it with low expectations but really enjoying this show.

Not sure what you mean. All of the spells have their letters at the top of the page and they "light up" if you can cast them. You're not seeing them?

So, I see it, but it happens so fast it doesn't really phase me. It's because the javascript loads after the page loads. Is it taking a long time for the page to load for you and then the jump occurs?
Long time? No. It's just a beat, perhaps half a second at the most. But still plenty of time to see the page jump up and back down again. The odd thing is I don't recall seeing this before and I've been here since 2004. Has it been working like this for some time (redesign / code change / ??) and I've just noticed? Problem is it's one of those "now that it has been seen it cannot be unseen" things. If that's just the way it is, that's fine.

What kind of network connection are you on?
High speed cable. This might be something new with IE10... I'll have to see what happens on a couple of systems I have here. Edit: My crappy work laptop that still runs IE8 does the exact same thing. As noted, each page is first rendered with no ad space at the top and then "pop" it goes down when the ad show up. Move to the next page, it pops back up and then down again. Now that I'm looking for it, it's getting annoying. Ah well.

Don't know if others are seeing this on other browsers but I'm running IE10 and the pages are first rendered without space for the ad at the top and then everything pushes down and the ad appears. So there's a lot of "hopping up and down" when navigating inside and around the forums. Not horrible but thought it was worth mentioning...
