Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Re: Xbox 360 with games - $225 shipped

Only catch is I can't ship it until next weekend (15th-17th) as I'm in fort lauderdale on vacation visiting family and won't get back till then. I brought my PS3 with me and honestly just don't need both systems seems like this generation it's more of a hassle especially when you're on a budget, and I dont think I can ever justify a $10 monthly fee just to play online or use netflix when I can do that and more for free on my PS3.
I'm not faulting you for selling your 360, it sounds like that makes sense for you. But I am curious as to what you are paying a $10 monthly fee for? Are you talking about LIVE? That's like $4 a month.

Got 7 Wonders for Christmas. Easy to pick up, but satisfying to play. Also it plays fast- 30 minutes tops and you can play with 3-7 people no problem. Finally a good game I can pull out when we have more than 5 people.

Thanks for the suggestions; I've put some of those on my wish list.
I bought Castle Ravenloft for a friend of mine. We started playing D&D 4e when it first came out and had a pretty regular group going but we both ended up with more responsibility than time. He constantly laments the fact that he misses D&D but can't justify the time investment. Figured it would be absolutely *perfect* for him (and the bonus being I get to play too!)
I picked up Castle Ravenloft in October and we love it. It's a hit with our friends, with my wife and with my kids(girls 11 and . They've taken the thrill of a dungeon crawl and made it a great 1-1.5 hour experience. The mechanics are plain out outstanding and I love the cooperative strategies we've been forced to develop. What's awesome is that game is fun with any number 2-5 and people can drop in/drop out as needed. A really great game! I'm looking forward to more in this series.

I picked it up on XBLA for $2 a few weeks ago. It's not bad, I can't say I'm hooked, but I do play occasionally.

I cannot recommend Dominion enough. It's a fantastic game. The mechanic centers on deck building (something I've never enjoyed in CCGs) and uses it in an addictive way.
Easily my favorite game of the last few years.

Cata will arrive from Amazon today, although who knows ow playable it will be today. I'm starting to burnout on WoW, probably for good, but I'm sure I'll enjoy the next few months of Cataclysm and then take an extended break.

there's alot of strange in your story. 1st off chase holds all checks so normally the checks would be deposited and held for a couple of days to clear. They don't generally cash checks, even ones drawn on a chase account without a hold, unless they are verified payroll or government checks. They can give cash back if her account can cover it but she should then have a receipt with the tellers # on it. I just cashed a check today for $200 at Chase and I didn't get a receipt, nor was I offered one.

Took my lvl 40 warlock for a spin this morning. He was at Theramore, which now has a nifty bridge going due west straight to the Barrens. I liked that. After visiting Mudsprocket, he was sent to the edge of Feralas, which is the launching area into the newly flooded Thousand Needles and Shimmering Flats. Here are some screeenshots from the "Shimmering Deeps" area.
1) A view from the giant barge the goblins relocated to when the racetrack was lost. 2) The map view of the area. 3) A shot from on the barge, which serves as a city with flightpath and rest area. 4) A giant shark, but he was already dead. Not sure what his story is.

Rock Band: orange frets in medium, 'nuff said.
Every time you whine about this, I am just absolutely baffled. I'm far from the world's best plastic guitar player but I can't comprehend being so upset about a handful of orange notes in a song. How terrible are you at this game that you can't do it? (I don't mean this to be as mean as it probably sounds.) As for this thread, my surprise of the year is Blur. I absolutely loved it. As for disappointments, that would have to be Red Dead. I expected it to be so great and I could never really get into it.

Any word whether 3DS will be backwards compatible with regular DS games?
Totally compatible. You just won't get a 3D effect with them (obviously). At least I think Nintendo has said this anyway. It would be rather dumb if it wasn't BC. I'm waiting for the 3DS, I just wish people would start taking pre-orders already! Why? I don't get the rush to place a pre-order.

Finding the person attractive or desirable is not cheating. Acting on those feelings is.
That's not what Jesus says: But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matthew 5:27-28 First off, thanks Moliere, I didn't know you were such a Bible scholar. Cool. Not that your efforts matter, because finding someone attractive doesn't have to be quite the same as looking at them lustfully.

Not to pour salt on old wounds but boy was reviewing that a low point for GT.
Uh, we didn't review it. If you're going to pour the salt, at least get your facts straight. Oh right, forgot it was satire and didn't have a score even if the author did play the game and give a description of it. Just like a review. edit: Fixed it to make it a bit more accurate for ya. Yeah, no kidding. I was thinking for second maybe I was imagining that review.

My dad basically threw away watching his two boys grow up for the sake of some one-night stand that didn't amount to anything. No he didn't. He made a decision about his sexual life and while it may have broken an agreement with your mother, it does not mean he was throwing away seeing his boys grow up. I would say that instead, his boys were taken from him as punishment (which is generally the case). Having sex with someone else does not invalidate one as a parent (mother or father). Couldn't disagree more. It sure does invalidate you as a parent since you have an obligation to your children to provide them with the best home situation possible. Breaking your wedding vows to their mother is an insult to them nearly as much as it is to their mom.

Damnnnnnn...How long have it been for you, since you been into a GameStop? Here in FL thats been the norm. for well over 5years now actually they don't take my print anymore. It maybe saved in the database now, but yeah dude they are classed as a pawn shop for good reasons to.
Why would it matter how long since he's been in a GS? I've never heard of this before and I visit Gamestops regularly.

Should we be surprised by this?
not really, just excited. I for the life of me cannot see why. I think people eat these things for the sake of eating them, simply because they're a limited time thing. Yeah, cause that makes sense.

Although I'm also wondering if I can find Mass Effect 2 on the cheap as I never had a chance to pick it up and the first was one of my favorite games. I'd really like to see how the story continues complete with gameplay improvements as well.
I found a copy of this in a bin at Blockbuster a few nights ago for $9.99. Complete with manual and the discs turned out to be practically new. Might be worth a look.

I found Name of the Wind very over rated. It's like Harry Potter for grown ups.
So wonderfully entertaining, enjoyable to read, and generally a treat for readers? Exactly, at least for me. I love the Harry Potter books, so I guess it's no shock I loved The Name of the Wind.

As of right now I would say Byzantium by Stephen Lawhead. However, if the succeeding books in the series are any good, The Name of the Wind could become my new #1.

I just want to thank all the gamers out there who buy DLC. Thank you for not taking a stand and saying, I already paid full price for a game, I shouldn't have to buy minor updates/items/map packs to get the full experience of the game. Thank you all for legitimizing this business. In the near future, we'll be paying full price for a 40% of the game, and will have to spend even more money to get the rest of it.
This seems like a funny thing to thank people for. Personally, I've never bought any DLC for games that I didn't already have the "full experience of". For example, I enjoyed Bioshock 2 a great deal and certainly don't feel ripped off because Minerva's Den wasn't part of the original release. I'm excited to spend some points and have some more BS2 to play.

By the time I got to the third boss in Shadow of the Colossus, I had had enough. Pure tedium, IMO. Apparently it told a great story, but I got so frustrated by the control scheme and repetitive gameplay that I had no desire to continue.
Of course you're entitled to your opinion, but I would think you played for like what, an hour? How tedious can that be? I really liked SotC although I didn't quite finish it. It's not enough to make me get a PS3, but its a step in that direction.
