Why on Earth are you not listing some games you are interested in, instead of making everyone guess?

Hmmm, let's see, I don't know?  Maybe it's because I'm not sure what I want?  I'm waiting on JSL to reply back to me.

Well, geez, then that's retarded.

Pass on all four. The 90's get neglected again.

Is it possible to just link back to your previous complaints on this topic?  That'd be more expedient than authoring a new one each week.   icon_confused

I'm probably in for one or two of these, depending on whether a couple of youtube listens catch me.  Love the 80 point pricing, of course.

Nah. Every week is a new disappointment so it deserves a new post. icon_biggrin
My apologies if this is affecting your personal enjoyment of the forums.

That was very considerate of you to apologize. smile

Is this supposed to get, I dunno, less stupid at some point? I'm three episodes into the first season and while I love the mystery of the story the amateur cast and corny high school dialogue is testing me. Not to mention, it seems kind of retarded that the blonde invulnerable chick has had her neck broken AND some kind of tree branch stuck into her neck by the same guy. What a coincidence that this would happen to someone who can't be killed.

After a few episodes of this and the Indiana Jones movie I'm almost certain Hollywood considers us idiots. I miss The Sopranos.

I'm probably just retarded and certainly not as sophisticated as you, but I found Heroes Season One to be AMAZING.

ditto.  honest and fast.  you can order from them with 100 percent confidence that you're gonna get your stuff quickly and in perfect condition.

+1(or would it be +2?)  TWS gets all my business, they are exceptional!

How is the Detroit Zoo nowadays?  I loved the Polar Bear exhibit last time.  I think it's one of the most advanced outdoot cooling areas for a zoo anywhere.

Everyone keeps telling me that Toledo Zoo beats it hands down.  So much so that we'll be driving 2 hours to Toledo instead of 1 to Detroit to go to the zoo this summer.

As for The Meal/MHS clan, good luck at the game.  I gotta think the Wings have a very good chance of wrapping this all up for you on Monday night.  Pretty sweet!

Bad enough I have to pay 41 cents for something that I had nothing to do with. Even paying 41 cents so I can then give them money to play pisses me off.

I have some bad news for you.  Stamps are 42 cents now.  If you were pissed before, I bet you're fuming now!
609  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Dude, you're getting ripped off! on: May 29, 2008, 07:12:24 AM
We have 2 Dell laptops and both have worked well.  However, Dell was pretty shady when we bought our last one.  My wife picked it out at a Dell kiosk in a mall and ordered it there.  I gave her the specifics that I wanted in it over the phone and made she negotiated the "$325 off a laptop over $1299" coupon code that the website had been running at the time.

A few weeks later we had her new Dell laptop and a bill for the full amount of the laptop.  Several phone calls were made and we were promised the discount.  A month later, it still not had happened.  We made the phone calls again and were promised the discount and that it would be taken care of.  Four months of this netted us a $100 discount only.  We escalated it to Dell customer care and were essentially told "too bad".  The best we could get was another $100 off.  I freaked out some more about it.

In the end, I had to settle for a total of $250.  By that point my wife didn't want to try to return the laptop, she was used to it, had all her stuff on it, etc.  So, Dell basically pulled a bait and switch on us.

Quote from: ScubaV on May 27, 2008, 03:36:00 AM

I bet all the people who picked the Pens are looking mighty silly right now.  Even if they raise their play several notches, there's no way they can take 4 of 5 games.  I could see this maybe going to 6 games, but I think 5 is most likely and a sweep is a very real possibility.  I bet the NHL is pretty peeved right now, considering all the hype about this being the greatest Finals ever, and the chance for an extended series with high ratings.

I think its unsafe to jump to conclusions like "there's no way they can take 4 of 5 games".  That kind of stuff happens in sports.  It's not likely that the Pens are going to win the series, but things happen.

Which isn't true. PC is a console after all.

I guess technically, but most people consider PCs and consoles to be separate.  That's just kind of understood, right?

I agree with the Fool though.  If people want to make the PC section stronger, then get in there and make it happen!

I'm almost of the opinion now that I don't really care if OO comes back - i've got GT, QT3, and Popehat - which basically has all of the same people and the longer this goes on the better the PC scene on GT will get. I mean shucks, I started another AAR on here its almost OO already.

Yeah, I think I'll just be staying here.  The only thing I will probably drop back to OO for is the OONFL2K8.

I think you're exaggerating.  It sure seems to me that IGN alone does more news and more in-depth that what you do.

Last week in 4 days I personally posted over 75 items.  I think I've got them beat, easily.  This week has been slower....

Meh, I wouldn't bother.  He probably took offense reading something negative about his employer while browsing your site instead of his.  slywink

Cars 2... I don't get that one either... definitely the weakest of the pixar movies.

It's the 'weakest' as far as adults are concerned. As far as my friends' kids are concerned, it's one of the best. *shrug*

Modern Disney has always been more kid-oriented - one of the reasons they fail.

They do?

There was also a reference that Rich had let someone else take over the site and that it had "gone to hell".  I assume the "shutdown" was part of that "gone to hell" part.

I'd like to hear more about this.  The reason there weren't updates to GG was because they were Rich's domain and no one else felt we had the authority to do updates.  I continued doing the piddly Weekly Values thing, but eventually lost interest because nothing else was happening in terms of front-page content.

I hope it wasn't Rich's words that the site "went to hell".  Quite honestly, his lack of communication to a very willing staff handcuffed us all from doing much of anything.  Certainly his condition may have stopped him from such communication, but I'd hate to hear he was upset because we didn't keep things updated.
