Ai yai yai...
The concept of a co-op rpg hack-n-slash sounded great.
5 hours into it and I can't take anymore.

Find a fire, light an arrow, shoot to start a fire. Move on.
Find a fire, light an arrow, shoot to start a fire. Move on.
Find a fire, light an arrow, shoot to start a fire. Move on.
Find a fire, light an arrow, shoot to start a fire. Move on.

Push a wall.

Getting stuck on objects, swinging through enemies with melee, sluggish ranged weapon aiming, losing your weapon because you need a torch to see where the eff you are going, finding a fire to light an arrow to start a fire... which the npc SHOOTS INTO THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD INSTEAD OF THE TARGET... Co-op abilities to wipe out groups of enemies, fun.. the first few times..  not enjoyable.

Some of the corpse puzzles ARE FUN however since all you get is a cryptic hint and are forced to comb the area for clues.

Can't really recommend this as a purchase.  thumbsdown

So no playing as any of the X Men?
Just these 3 "created for the game and will never be seen or heard from ever again" characters?
43  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [360/PS3] Homefront on: March 20, 2011, 04:04:38 PM
Went from lv 45 to lv 2 for some reason today.
All unlocks gone.
Challenges still kept my kill progress so I'm guessing something didn't load properly and saved over once I got 5 kills with a gun.

Had a bit of fun with it, but I'm done.
Too many headaches for this to be considered fun.

Notice banner sayin' incoming patch will let you keep xp even if hosts ragequits. Yey.
45  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Transformers: War for Cybertron on: June 27, 2010, 08:35:14 AM
So NOBODY liked the two movie based games?
They were nothing fantastic, but I still had fun with the whole free roaming driving/flying blowing stuff up factor.

Ahh well.

Slowly inching every class up bit by bit.
I've seen people in the 20's already.

Scout is gonna be a pain in the ass to level.
I just cant get the hang of it. There were a few games earlier on in the week where I could snipe all I want or sneak up on people to backstab all I want.
Now, people seem to outsnipe you with any weapon, and tend to notice you and break you from stealth before you can get behind them.
Don't know how you guys do it.

The scientist/spy/shotgun to the face combo is working amazingly for me.

Underwater combat can blow me...
You are at such disadvantage going up against major monsters to begin with, lets make it even more harder with little to no mobility underwater!
I'm at the point in single player where I need to take out the Gobul and am ready to ditch the entire damn system out of frustration.
Rocking Ludroth armor set with bone switchaxe+ and not having any luck landing good hits on this mother effer...

I don't see how this game had any chance of longevity when you guys neglected to assign a single building to be a gay bar on any of the maps.

Hahaha!

So what's next on everybody's list?
CoD black ops got announced, but it didn't grab my attention yet.
I'm fighting this monster hunter urge as much as I can.
Purge leaving the French copy of his manual on the coffee table doesn't help the situation at all.
48  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2 Impressions on: May 03, 2010, 07:08:19 PM
So is it safe to say that most of us are done with this game?
When I sit down I tend to throw in mw2 instead of this so it's gonna get traded in.
Sadly I think I will end up with a wii just because of monster hunter 3.
If this happens, I will go poof on live for quite some time.
49  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [Wii]Monster Hunter Trii on: April 16, 2010, 06:57:17 AM
Why the hell did this series end up on the Wii....
MH on PS2 were the best of times.

Ok so when I get annoyed with this game, I now ride around c4 loaded to cheer up.
Took out a bradley and a tank at the same time.
Could NOT stop laughing.

All blackhawk attempts failed miserably. Cant get the timing and nosedive angle right yet.

So much fun with C4
52  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2 Impressions on: March 28, 2010, 07:18:40 AM
I could not stop laughing at the c4 fun in that vid.
What it does to airborne helicopters is hilarious.
You have to give them credit. Not only do they need to survive the ride to their destination but they need to jump out AND detonate at the right time to get a kill.
The UAV c4ing is the only one I see as a cheese move since its so damn tiny.

I've started using a pistol instead of tracer dart as my secondary even on assault and it has made a huge difference.  Mag runs out it's much faster to switch to pistol and kill than reload and has saved me many times.  Reloading and see someone coming?  Switch to pistol and kill them.  My k/d has drastically changed with this and it seems a full third of my deaths were while reloading.

I don't even look at k/d anymore.
Just how many American lobster tags I own.

I don't get it.
Games are meant to be a form of entertainment.
Something to enjoy while not dealing with all other priorities of life.
I've been working for the past 22 days straight clocking some serious OT and yet I still found time to deal with everything AND get some great times in with the GT crew on this game.
I'm sure you have your reasons, but it's a damn shame you were not here enjoying this game with us ATB.

I've seen a guy running with a chute before, very funny.  The UAV + C4 combo is seriously overpowered and I hope they remove it soon.  However in a rare hypocritical moment I wouldn't mind trying to perfect it in the meantime.  3 people on the team with extra explosives and refined explosives and the uav pilot should one shot a crate.

That's kind of awsome. Never thought you could c4 the uav and fly it into the crate.
Does having the teamates trigger the c4 blow the uav as well? Or does it get to fly off since ff is not on?

I say leave it in game as long as it blows the uav in the process.
Had a blast playing with you guys.
Working servers or not, play this on the ps3 with randoms and you end up with a headache.
I seem to be enjoying the shotgun entirely all too much.
59  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2 Impressions on: March 11, 2010, 02:19:31 AM
Still no working in game store for ps3 so no VIP maps for us.

Edit: but the severs are rarely down so I think it might be the better deal.

Wooooo!

On a side note, got the .50 cal and sniping is kind of growing on me.
That spotting scope does work with default scope only and man is it ever cheap.

Only managed to take out the blackhawk pilot once so far and it was a total fluke trigger pull.

Razgon: I really don't understand how that scope attachment works.
I thought it would label people automatically when you see them. It does not.
I thought it would label them if you clip them once. It does not.
My last theory is that it let's you spot targets more frequently than normal spotting.
66  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2 Impressions on: March 07, 2010, 10:22:22 PM
Too many kits near the mcom = a nightmare to arm/disarm.
I'm liking the anti tank mining or c4ing of the objective a lot more than trying to arm it.
Have nearly everything unlocked and I gotta say, pp2000 is my favorite toy.

That's messed up.
I have had no issues when it comes to finding games on the ps3.
Think it's cause it's less populated heh.
Still no working in game store though.

There have been a few times when all my stuff is gone upon entering a match.
Rejoining seems to fix that.

Were there this many snipers in BC1? I don't get what is so attractive about being a sniper that there are entire squads of them. I'm not sure I like snipers getting mortars now, because they can just hide the entire time and get kills.

Nope.
This is a new bc2 breed.
Snipers were anti vehicle first, infantry second in bc.
Here, they tend to run out to some hidden far away spot and wait.
And wait.... And wait and wait and wai ....zzz..zzz..zzz..
Mortar is handy for clearing out snipers from rooftops.
It's a challenge to take out vehicles or players with half a brain with the mortar strike.
My biggest beef was... And still IS, jackasses taking off with vehicles by themselves to either; A) dump the vehicle once they arrive at their sniper position of choice, or B)driving the vehicle DIRECTLY into the enemy base in some kind of a Rambo fantasy.
Either the vehicle gets blown up (with said jackass still inside) or even worse, it gets jacked and will not respawn.
Kind of regretting the ps3 purchase. Better graphics or not, I don't have the awesomesauce GT crew running with me.

There's a spotting button?

If you are looking at an enemy or objective, press the back button (xbox) and it marks it.  Really awesome function.

Yeah about that.
I notice that it's a lot harder to spot somebody in the full version than it was in the demo.
In the demo you could just spam the horizon and dots would be poping up left right and center.
Most of the time now I seem to have to press the button 3 to 4 times while staring at my target for him to call it out.
Think there might be a delay between spots.

Just got my extended shotgun mags secondary specialization.
The saiga12 goes from 4 in the chamber to FREGGIN 12!!
Running around as a light weight assault most of the time because of this.
Get to keep on reloadin' and C4in'

Servers crashed once.
Game locked up twice.
Unlocks are acting REALLY wonky.
I've had stuff unlock just for them to be gone the next match.
Think the demo/veteran program treated me nicely. Started off with all of the basic gadgets that were in the demo. Not just the tracer dart gun, ALL of em.
Ammo box, defib paddles, health kit, motion sensor grenade.
All stuff that you don't get off the bat.
The m1 garand is deeeeeadly.
Classified as an SMG though for some reason.
Most of all I love how beautiful this game looks now that I have a better tv and running hdmi.

Its a race.
Either the PS3 network shit fixes itself, or my 360 elite arrives back.
WHO WILL WIN?!

I don't think I will be tossing MW2.
This happened with CoD4 and BC a few years back.
After a while I was DONE with BC and really wanted the over the top-ness of CoD back.
Had to pay full price since CoD4 never dropped in price... ever.. until like a week before MW2 launched.

One effect from the patch is that they significantly lowered the cost to respec.

A nice change.

Nice.
I never could figure out why they made the respec cost so harsh.
It took me all of 60 levels to get my 4th or 5th respec.
Most people wont know if what they picked is any good without having an easy way of trying everything out.
Still think they should have given you more points to spend.
Even at 60 you end up with one solid weapon choice with abilities and accessories, healing line, soldier improvement line and MAYBE the gadget line or a gimped second or third weapon line.
Not cool at all.
