Hmm what is wrong with me? I didn't get really into it, and don't have a good reason why. I am enjoying Alien Crush on VC though.
2882  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Really Great Idea: Mario Casino on: January 11, 2007, 12:34:49 AM
I think it would be a pretty neat idea. I am a sucker for casino games done right, which are very rare. QQP used to have one that I loved, but it was pretty bug ridden and the company went under before they every finished it.

This reminds me of GG. As it grew you got a greater variety of people, and more clashes. Maybe the same thing is happening here?

2887  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Vista bad for gaming on: January 10, 2007, 05:08:26 AM
Just wanted to comment on the news article.

WildTangent from what I know is a source of adware/spyware and only really has one game that got them any respect, Fate. So for them to say that Vista will be bad for downloading games, I take it with a grain of salt.

Ignoring wouldn't have fixed the -LE- problem.  If anything, it would have made it worse.  -LE-, in all liklihood, would have worn that "ignored by" profile as a badge of honor.

That's how I take it. Kobra ignoring me is priceless. smile

I really do hate that.

My biggest complaint is I get hand cramps way too easy with it. Especially with action games. I just can't play it for long periods of time. I guess they can't really fix that though without making it bigger.

I am a little surprised at some of the people who do have people ignoring them. I mean what did ATB ever do to anyone?

Hehe, yeah I knew coming into this thread it would finish about how great Costco is.

The store manager wasn't be a dick Kobra, he was doing his job by following store policy. People could use such a liberal return policy to make money, so I would suspect a lot of retailers won't do it.

I return something maybe once a year, so I never really care about return policies, as long as they have one.

I got this about 3 weeks ago and still haven't installed it.  Is the game ripe for play yet or should I wait for further patches?  I hate starting an in-depth game, and then having a patch come in 1/2-way through.  Because I always restart full games when a patch is released... it's on OCD thing.

Everything I have read said it's buggy as hell (Kobra seems to be the only person who likes it on the forums I read). If the first one is any indication, there will never be a patch that fixes it.

I never ever felt overwhelmed in it myself. Theres some great guides on the official forums, I highly recommend them.   I thought it was pretty streamlined and refined myself - at least compared to most city builders.

It is very streamlined, and well done, don't get me wrong. I just can't get into it. I really want a pause and work command, without it, it feels too much like a RTS to me. I tried to go into the playground to learn everything, but they strip so much of the actual game mechanics out of it, there wasn't any point.

But I got bored with Caesar IV very quickly too, I guess I find dealing with modern cities more interesting. I am burned out on the whole chain of industries thing.

Just picked it up, I liked the demo, but I am having a hard time getting into the full game, and I am not sure why. It is a bit overwhelming, because there is a lot to do, and the pirates can be a bit pesky. My biggest complaint is I can't pause and and explore. You can pause, and scroll the map, but you can't tinker with anything or build anything. So watching my boats and a couple of settlements I feel like there is too much going on. I guess it's a bit too RTS for me.

I also think I am getting sick of builders. I couldn't get into Caesar IV either.

HD are so cheap nowadays M$ is really ripping us off if it's not standard. But still, I will probably get a new version eventually, need a 1080p TV first.

Roping is nuts, and something I never learned to master. You are right TML, it would be impossible (or at least very hard) with a controller.

I am still not sure what version of worms it is. Hoping and praying that it's one of the classic versions (like World Party) and not a 3D version.

As far as Live, I have really enjoyed it. It's lite games, but there has been some really enjoyable stuff on there.
2915  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: No Live Arcade game this week... on: January 03, 2007, 03:56:15 AM
Rumor I read on QT3 is that Worms is next week. If they do Worms World Party on Live, I have the only game I need on Live.

On the other hand, I played it so much on the PC, maybe I am burnt out on it. Still can't wait to see.
