I am so damn sick of that song, please let it die.

Just not feeling it for the stop loss guys, they should have done some research before they signed up during a war.

You're right, they should have done some research or actually read the contract when enlisting.  I was "stop-loss" in 2002 for another tour and this is after I already did 8 years of service.  My drill instructor once said, "the fastest way out of boot, is to finish it."  It's the same way with another tour, finish it or risk having the government ruin your civilian life.

Well I wouldn't go that far, I am on my 5th enlistment and I don't think I have ever read the contract smile, but the possibility of stop loss was always pretty clear if you talked to people or read CNN/FOX etc.

I hear the sequel to this movie is going to be about Reserve guys pissed off because they joined for college money and then actually had to deploy.

You know so little on how nukes work and the policies surrounding them, it would be better if you just didn't comment on them because you are making yourself look like a fool.

Well I'm glad you said that!  Since you know so much more than me, I'm sure you can easily show how and why I'm wrong, citing all your sources, etc.

I look forward to reading it!

Cite sources? I don't need to, it's what I do for a living, and something I am not going to talk about on an internet forum beyond what I have said already. I am not getting up here fear mongering by throwing around ideas with no backing or basis, I am just pointing out to you that you literally know nothing about the subject, nor do you care to learn. I am also not the one telling everyone here that they are uneducated about everything under the sun like you are. Except on one subject, but in that subject, I do have a bit more knowledge than you.

You cannot say things here Unbreakable without any credible support and declare everything you say as fact and then expect us all to believe you because you tell us you are more knowledgeable than us. In fact you are doing what the government does, but even more extreme.

In the end I think you have issues, I don't mean that as an insult, but you say such absurd things, its hard to believe that a sane person could come up with such ideas. But at the same time you don't research anything out of your bubble, you read what you want to and ignore everything else.

I am done responding to you, it only encourages you to get on your soap box and spew more tripe.

and i still think there has been a less than subtle shift in how cavalier those within government, and those attempting to become government, view the "usability" of nuclear weapons.  my one consolation is, again, the high ranking military officials who will hopefully be screaming in their ears to tone down the rhetoric

Despite what certain people will have you believe, there hasn't been any big changes in the mission. It is still peace through deterrence. The DoD makes "just in case plans" for everything, when the media gets a hold it they freak out and claim that we are now doing things differently. It's just not the case. The idea of us just going around using nukes because we can is absurd and is the equivalent to Bush's saber rattling. Unbreakable can scream all day that we have nukes aimed at Iran and Bush has been given permission to use them, but its the same as Bush going up there and saying if we don't remove Saddam from power the world is going to end. It's all just talk with no basis in reality.

I am guessing you don't know how we recently got rid of the Peacekeeper weapon system and converted MMIII to one warhead instead of 3? We also got rid of a ACMs and have converted some other missiles.

Honestly you guys, as far as nukes go, don't believe anything you read. The government doesn't make any of this information public knowledge and the media guesses to fill in the holes. One base I was at the press reported that we shipped our nukes to England. We didn't even have nukes. They just saw bombers land empty and take off with missiles.

Unbreakable, I have spent 15 years in the nuclear weapon business (ICBM and ALCM) and I can say without a doubt, you do not know what you are talking about. You don't know where nuclear weapons are, you don't know how they work, you don't know where they are aimed (or anything about how that works), you don't even know the policies on them are. You are stating your opinion, which is completely wrong. Even what the press tells you is usually completely wrong. I have been involved in various things that the press reported on and they almost always get the story completely wrong.

You are not more knowledgeable on anything, you spout your opinions and then back them up with articles that don't really prove your point. So quit stating your opinion as fact, because it is not.

Literally everyone?  I don't say it, so it can't be literally everyone.

Also... just because Hezbollah "reveres" Iran doesn't make them an affiliate (and that seems like a horribly vacuous claim anyway.  What is that supposed to mean, exactly?).  There are terrorist groups attacking Turkey who "revere" the USA.  So does that mean we are attacking Turkey?  In fact, they are indirectly getting funding from the USA, and using some US-made weapons.

So I guess America is at war with Turkey.  Why do we hate Turkey?

Anyone who knows anything about the situation. Do a search for Hezbollah funding. Really you need to do some reading on Hezbollah because your denial really makes it sound like you haven't.

Reveres in that it follows an Islamist Shi'a ideology developed by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. It wants the same things as Iran. Destruction of Israel which they both readily admit.

Who said anything about being at war? I am saying Iran is a threat to Israel and ME peace.

The US is not funding Kurds to attack Turkey. We are not calling for the destruction of Turkey. But yes I am sure Turkey is not happy with us for helping the Kurds, even though we are funding them for other reasons. But then again Turkey wants to wipe out the Kurds, so we are helping them defend themselves. Really doesn't compare to the Iran/Hezbollah thing.

And really Unbreakable, we are the same wave length here, I am definitely not trusting of the government at times, nor the press, and I don't think Iran is as a huge problem to US as Bush would like us to think. But to say they are just some harmless nation just isn't true. They are very much a threat to Israel and their actions re-enforce that. Israel is a close ally of ours, so we are involved.

That's not true, it's meant as a travel computer. This is for people want an ultra mobile laptop who want to surf the net, listen to music and write email from their hotel room. I literally never use my laptops DVD drive when I travel, unless I am gaming, but who buys a Mac to game?

If you do want a DVD drive you just pay $100 more and carry it with you. Its still smaller than your average laptop. Jobs also mentions that you can transfer stuff from your PC or Mac through the wireless.

The price is high because of the technology, it will come down as always, but right now its new, and small is expensive. This thing isn't replacing the other Macs, it's a supplement for people who want the basics in a very thin, light package.

Believe people who have been correct in the past.  That doesn't sound too difficult.

Well literally everyone says Hezbollah is funded and reveres Iran. Hezbollah doesn't deny attacking Israel, in fact they use Iranian weapons. I am not sure how you can ignore Iran calling for the destruction of Israel and then claim that they have nothing to do with attacks on them. Again they attack them directly, that doesn't mean they aren't involved.

Just because the terrorists are from a certain country doesn't mean that they are backed by the government, so your point is moot.

And yet, you would have me believe the opposite is true of your claim against Iran?

No. Iran openly admits they want the destruction of Israel. Iran openly funds and equips Hezbollah. One of Hezbollah official goals is the destruction of Israel. I am not going off any extreme sites here, this is all known fact. Iran may not be attacking Israel with their national guard, but they are having their guard train Hezbollah who does attack Israel.

I am not saying Iran is a threat to us, I am saying they are a threat to peace in the ME. Anyway the whole reason I got into this debate is because you said Iran never attacked Israel, which is only true in that they don't do it with their army, they just fund/equip/train other groups to do it for them. And I am not saying we don't do the same thing, and we do its no different from what Iran is doing. But we funded AQ to support our goals when their goals were different.

Calling for the destruction of a country and then giving a group all the money and weapons they want so that can attack Israel, pretty much is attacking them directly. Just because Iran didn't send their official army doesn't mean Iran is not guilty of attacking Israel.

The US government found no evidence of the Saudi government being involved in 9/11. So conspiracy groups are the only ones I have seen saying there is any connection.

Yesterday when she was missing her court date she was said to be waiting in the middle of the street smoking a cigarette waiting on a furniture delivery. The week before when she was supposedly too sick to go to court she was running to 7-11 in the middle of the night for gas and smiling, laughing, and not even going in the 7-11, just walking around (and then leaving her assistant there as she drove off). The only thing left I can say about it is this (not there really is anything left to say): We don't know how it went down. It could have been "Sorry Ma'am, we know this is silly, it will take 5 minutes but we have to go through the procedures." Notice she didn't say anyone stopped her from hugging her child, she was just re-searched afterwards, which probably meant a wand, not a strip search. She also wasn't delayed enough to miss her flight.

Or it could have been the Men in Black putting everyone in separate rooms quizzing them for hours, after the strip searches of course, with them just barely making their flight.

Or maybe it was somewhere in between, but in the video there didn't seem to be any outrage (or many details), it seemed the mother thought it was all just a bit silly more than anything else. We may be over reacting to the whole thing.

And finally, I just have to say Blackader, you are a bad ass.

I care because a 5 year old showing up on a no-fly list is a big indicator that something is broken. That they searched him anyway is a sign that no one plans on fixing it.

I am not saying things couldn't be refined, but in all honesty if national security inconveniences a few people a day, I just don't have a problem with it.
