I have a friend who was given the same advice based on genetic testing, and had a double mastectomy plus a hysterectomy at 35. Extreme, no doubt.
But if I had watched my mom die a slow painful death at a young age like she did, and there were good odds I would go the same way - I can't say I wouldn't take similar steps.

Not a PS4 launch title? Wow.
are you saying that after seeing the screens or meaning SONY's decision for it to be on PS3? The latter. Obviously we don't have all the info, but why they wouldn't do everything in their power to make it a PS4 launch title is a head scratcher.

Hm... I'm 80% done with AC Brotherhood, so that's low hanging fruit. Might play through Bioshock Infinite again and knock out some more cheevos. Tomb Raider and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon are newly acquired, so those are possibilities as well.

Not menu items, but I miss Boston Market and Cracker Barrell drive throughs. I think the Cracker Barrell drive through was just a test run in my area that barely lasted a year, but it sure was nice.

Sad to see it go, but it's time. The new episodes are still good, but not quite up to the caliber of the first four seasons, and they've long since run out of ways to keep Leela and Fry's relationship going/not going. 140 episodes over 14 years is a great run.

Ironically, the top posts in my Google Reader today are about Google Reader alternatives. I'm giving http://feedly.com a whirl at the moment. Looks like a cross between Reader and Flipboard. So far, so good.

Yep, total agreement. My mother in law in particular is bad about this - she thinks anything associated with gaming is childish (yet she sees nothing wrong with passively watching hours upon hours of sports on TV).
Even in interactions with friends and colleagues, it's rare to find someone my age who is into games other than Rock Band or Madden. A guy at church mentioned X-Com in an off-hand conversation - then we proceeded to jaw about games for a good 20 minutes. Awesome, but its been the exception, not the rule.

I find it interesting that S-Video has all but disappeared on consumer video equipment (yet component and composite remain). For a lot of older gear/consoles, it provides the best quality you can pull out of them. But time marches on, I suppose.

I'm admittedly a digital pack rat, my 16gb iPad always feels constrained - even with just apps and ebooks/pdfs. If I were on the market for a new one, I'd get the most storage I could afford.
