That's really funny.  I'm pretty stunned that Microsoft botched this so badly.   Pure arrogance.  Total 180 from last gen.

Preordered both xbox and PS4.  May cancel the xbox later.  I'll see how it shakes out over the next few months.   Release date for the PS4 on Amazon was 12/31/13.  Is this just a placeholder date?  I can't imagine them missing the Christmas shopping season.

I must be living in a cave.  I live about 1 1/2 to 2 hours south of there and I don't remember hearing about this.   

For some reason, I'm getting the urge to buy one of these.   My rational side knows I'd play it for a few hours and it would go on a shelf.   My OCD tendancies are working overtime however to get me  to buy to one off amazon. 

I live in Chicago, so I've currently don't have anything.   Waiting to see how everything plays out here before I make a decision.

I have a browning 9mm and 2 12g shotguns.  Never leave the house unless Im going to the range to shoot.

I grew up around guns.  Hunted a little bit as a kid.  We always had several rifles or shotguns in the house.  Over the last 5 years, I've became more of a "gun guy".   I no longer hunt but enjoy shooting at the range and collecting different guns.  Now I shoot mostly pistols but own a few rifles as well.    I live in Illinois as well so no ccw permits yet.  When it becomes law later this year, I'll apply for one.   I wouldnt carry every day but would like to be able to do so.  Thanks for starting the thread.  Maybe we can keep it alive for discussions about specific firearms.

Seriously, WTF Games Workshop? Talk about bullies. I'm pretty sure that "space marine" was a word long before they came along. I know these guys are pretty protective of their IP but this is over the line." The author is just some small, self-published person as well. We're not talking about some huge corporation.  Perhaps Games Workshop should stop picking on the little guys and go sue someone that can afford to fight it like Blizzard.

I could never figure out why Games Workshop didn't sue Blizzard.  Wacraft and Starcraft are obviousley "heavily influenced" by Warhammer and 40K.   Heck the new starcraft trailer looks like it could be a 40k movie about  Tyranids vs Space Marines.  ( I hope I don't get sued for using the SM word. )  Games Workshop has made some interesting business decisions like prohibiting online sales of there product from sites other than their official store.  I guess nothing from them would really suprise me.

I would suggest when your kid is out to update the Wii U which Faide is going through now,people are complaining that its taking forever....Kotaku reckon it will take 4 hrs to update(its a 5 gig update apparently),be a bit of a bitch if you have to wait 4 hrs on Christmas Morning to get playing

Thanks for the update.  That would make for a miserable Christmas Morning.   4 Hour updated is pretty rough.  Now I just need to pick up a couple of games and find a pro controller before Christmas.

I rarely prescribed Imodium to my active duty patients, and when I did, it was for prolonged diarrhea and when the patient couldn't keep up with rehydration.

  I have diverticultis and have used Imodium on several occasions.  I have also used it under my physicians direction for when I had the flu. It has never constipated me, it has firmed things up. While it does slow down the process, you still evacute so no it doesnt cause the virus to fester in your bowels.      On top of that, I figured that Harpua would have enough common sense to check the label and see if Imodium was not for him.  As far as dehydration, harpua had already mentioned he was taking steps to rehydrate.    Based on my physicians advice and my own personal experience I still dont see a problem with the recommendation.  Still if you honestly believe that you purge a virus through shitting, then I can understand your confusion. And here I thought the body created anti bodies called Phagocytes that attack, consume and destroy the virus.  I guess Ill have to talk to my doctor about that one because clearly he is misinformed!

Actually, there are some instances where Imodium and other such drugs are not recommended for treatment of diarrhea.   C-difficile infections being one, I believe.  Toxins from c-diff are not cleared as well if you use these types of drugs.  It's not the c-diff itself that causes the problem but the toxins they produce I believe. Ive worked with several doctors that don't recommend using imodium until a stool culture is done and some that say go ahead and take it.      Most of these type of infections cause the same symptoms.  It's impossible to know the cause without a culture.   C-diff is pretty common as well but usually caused by antibiotic use. If you have prolonged symptoms, go see your MD. So, most of the time it's okay but not always. 

Thanks for the link.   I had to pick up Arcanum and Vampire The Masquerade.  Sad part is that I'm 99% sure I have both of these with the manuals in a box in the garage.   It's worth $5 to not have to go look. 

Im still in for now.  I'll give it a couple of more episodes.  Right now it really isn't grabbing me.  It just doesn't seem post-apocalyptic enough.  If it continues as is, I'd be shocked if it gets another season anyway. 

I saw it this weekend.  I really enjoyed it.  I thought it was pretty faithful to the comic.   It went to a early evening showing and there was only one other person in the theater besides my wife and I.  Doesnt look good for a sequel which is a shame.

My gut feeling is he doped.  It's hard to believe that all the other members of his team doped and he didn't.  That being said, he should keep his titles.  If he didn't test positive at the time, he should't be penalized after the fact.   No positive test = no proof. 

Was supposed to see Iron Maiden tonight, but because of the weather and the seats, my buddies and I are going to skip out. Right now, it's a toss-up between seeing this or Dark Knight Rises again...

What?! I saw Maiden a few weeks ago and it was amazing. Ahhhmazing. They were incredible. Screw the weather and movies and just go. Thank me tomorrow.

Saw them in Indianapolis last month with Alice Cooper.  Great show.  See Expendables tomorrow.

True but a punch to the back is still kind of a silly cure for a bulging disc. If it was that easy, spinal surgeons would be out of business.   I guess if I can suspend belief enough to believe a guy can run around fighting crime in a bat suit  I can let this go too.

Side note:  Did anyone else think Bane sounded like Deckard Cain?  Kept expecting a "Stay a while and listen".

Finally saw this yesterday.  Overall, I really enjoyed it.   Bane could have been a little more like comic book Bane but he was still a good villian.  Hathaway was really good. I expected very little from her and was suprised by how good she was in the role.  There were some silly plot holes but it didn't kill my enjoyment.   For some reason, it was easier for me to swallow that

Sounds interesting.  I'm kind of shocked this saw the light of day since the company that made the miniature game is out of business and the game isn't being made any longer.  I'll have to keep an eye out on this one.  I had some of the mini's but never actually played the game.

I can't get the pitching down either.  My timing stinks.  I have zero control.  My first game I got crushed. My inability to hit didn't help either.    I love it though.  I'm going to start a season with the Reds and see what happens.

I've got Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning for the 360 coming from Gamefly.  I'd like to play Darkness 2 and Resident Evil for the 3DS.  Probably wait for the price drop.  With the Vita coming out my budget is shot.

I still havent got my account back.  I just got an email from live that gave me another 30 day temp code.  This is the 3rd one.  I'm not sure what is so hard about migrating my account from Brazil to the USA.  It's now over two months and counting.

I love F1 and went to almost all of the races in Indy.  I just don't know if it is viable in the US.  Open wheel racing just isn't popular.  If you can't make it work in the Mecca of US auto racing, I don't know where it will work. 

I was under the impression that Indy worked fairly well up until Michelin-gate.

I think it did work pretty well.  The crowd was less than the Indy 500 or the Brickyard but it was still large.   I enjoyed it the most of the three.  I guess my point was it didn't work out well enough to keep it in Indy for whatever reason.  I think it was on the way out before Michelin gate.  Maybe Tony George and Bernie just couldnt see eye to eye.

There's a severe shortsidedness to that perspective though:

Chris Paul is a Hornet for at most this season only.  The NBA can't keep him there past his contract.  The Hornets GM got what appears to be the greatest possible return for that asset and now, after one year, will get absolutely nothing.  That will kill the team.  No one is going to buy a team that will have literally no good players after one year.  No chance.

I have no idea why the NBA did this.  None whatsoever.

I agree 100%.  Paul isn't staying in New Orleans.  Next year he'll be a Knick.  At least the hornets would have gotten something in return for him.  Next year they don't get squat.  So next year if the team isn't sold, they have a small market team with zero talent.  Not very marketable.  Stern folded under pressure from the other small market owners.  I don's like the trend of teams loaded with super stars but this felt different from the Miami deal.  This was done the old fashioned way with a trade. 

Wow.  Pretty disturbing that this was regarded as being common enough to do a study and write a journal article. 

Thinking about getting AC on Onlive.  They have the preorder get a free console deal going.  I've been wanting to try out the service.   On the other hand, I ordered a new computer capable of playing new PC games so I'm not sure Onlive makes much sense for me at the moment.  Especially since I have all the major consoles.

I didn't get the one fight thing either.  They had a full undercard that was shown on facebook and foxsports.com.  I think they should have showed the Henderson/Guida fight as well.   When you have guys with one punch knockout ability, there is always a chance of a quick fight.  I'm not sure this won over any new fans.  Either way, I'm glad to get some free fights.  I don't think they will make the same mistake twice.
