Bruins are hilariously bad right now. They would have to have a total meltdown to miss the playoffs, but it's looking more like a 7 or 8 seed at this point.

Suck it, Detroit! It's about time the wings dealt with losing their#1 goalie, best d-man, and best forward at the same time like divisional opponents have had to deal with over the past few years.
This is far less entertaining than your usual posts, FYI. Seriously. More OUTRAGE, less whining please.

I love the Blues, they're a great team. I'll definitely be rooting for them in the playoffs. It's just too bad they have some, erm, outraged fans.

Yeah I'm not entirely sure what Vancouver was thinking with that one. Kassian could certainly turn out to be great, but I thought Hodgson was generally considered a can't-miss player now.

A pretty underwhelming deadline day, but I think that was expected. No surprise Nash stayed put considering his price tag.
Bruins got a couple depth defensemen and good ol' Brian Rolston to trot out before he gets senile.

Well St. Louis and Nashville did play on Thursday, which is why I personally didn't look at the date first. Methinks someone did the same but has decided to RAGE OUT instead.

I don't know if I am happier about getting Carter or getting rid of Johnson. I just know I am happy.
I'm not sure if I would be happy about 6 more years of a $5.2 mil player who is liable to injure himself when breathed upon. But getting some value for Jack Johnson is a positive.

That was like 2 days ago. And you call yourself a Canucks fan. Also nice to see Canucks fans aren't sore losers or anything: That's on the church in Vancouver that Lucic goes/went to. I will say I was surprised the glass isn't broken, so maybe Canucks fans are improving.

David Perron of the Blues just tried the most hilarious illegal goal I think I've seen live. With less than 5 seconds left, Mason is sprawled in the crease with the puck around there somewhere. Perron then effectively rides on top of Mason and punches the puck into the goal with his hand. Shockingly the play wasn't called dead while Perron was body surfing the goalie and they went to review where it was pretty obvious it was punched in.
Excellent effort though. Nothing to lose at that point.
No, it was a good goal. Refs were Red Wings fans. In other news, Lundqvist is pretty good.

It's called a rivalry, and I'm just enjoying the latest chapter, especially since the Hawks are laughable this year.
Nice showcase for the Bruins fans who go on and on about how dirty the Canucks are. Pot meet Kettle.
I'm pretty sure both teams are as dirty as it gets. That's the beloved irony of the rivalry from an outsider's perspective. The Canucks fans refuse to admit their team is anywhere close to as dirty as the Bruins, when they actually have more PIMs and considerably less fighting majors. I'm pretty sure Bruins fans (the ones I know) are well aware of their teams style of play. They actually revel in it. Exactly right, on all counts. Bruins are sucking it up right now and have been since mid-January. It's not much of an accomplishment to beat them right now.

Played well for the most part tonight. Just not that good.
Yeah that was a bizarre game. Bruins played like crap except for 4 minutes when they scored 3 times.

I love to make fun of Crosby, but the game needs him back. I just read today that Marc Savard just did his first light workout (rode a bike), more than a year after he was concussed (again). I hope Crosby doesn't turn into a Savard.

Apparently Mike Cammalleri got traded during Montreal's game on Thursday. They pulled him off the ice, put him in a cab and was sent to the team hotel. Ouch.
He had recently made some rather scathing comments (and accurate, FWIW) about his team.
Edit: Reportedly heading back to Calgary.

Wish I could have watched it!
Aw man, you missed a great one. Too bad the bad guys won ( ), but it was very entertaining. It sucks this may be the only time these teams play this year.

Such a shame the VAN/BOS game isn't on national TV. It's been tremendously entertaining so far. Dale Weise just got an unsportsmanlike penalty for not fighting.

I actually thought Calgary should have scored a goal or two. Their offense looked pretty sharp at times. The defense, however, yoiks. More than a couple of those Boston goals were scored by players cruising through the slot wide open.
Also, Boston's goal differential is absurd. They lead the league in goals for and goals against, having scored twice as many as they've allowed at almost the halfway point in the season.

Hoping to stay within 6 goals tonight.
Congratulations? At least you didn't have to listen to Jack Edwards. I like Doc Emrick a lot more when he isn't pandering to the general audience on NBC.

I don't think it will be Chicago because they already did that three years ago (four next year). I doubt they'll want a rematch that early. I think it will either be Toronto or St. Louis, with an outside chance of a western team, maybe San Jose. I don't think you can go wrong with any of those.

Look like the NHL will have a radically different look next season: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=382065Four conferences, two with 8 teams, two with 7. I'm really digging that expanded Atlantic division with Washington in there now. The northeast group gets Florida and Tampa. Wooptie doo. I also like how the first two rounds of the playoffs will always be inter-division/conference now. There will be some great rivalries.

The Boston/Buffalo rematch, a.k.a. The Running of the Goalies, is tonight. How many Sabres will give Lucic menacing looks? Will Tim Thomas get more penalties than he draws? Will the referees flip out and hand out misconducts to anyone who bumps into another player? Tune in and find out!

Kerry Fraser provides the funnies even in retirement: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=380610Five minute major and two game suspension needed for Lucic! Save the goalies! Next week's Boston/Buffalo game should be interesting. I hope Thomas gets the start because you know he'll try to punch out the first guy that takes a run at him.

Most telling about the Lucic hit was the total lack of response by the Sabres. They just kind of shrugged their shoulders and kept playing. Then Boston scored 6 goals on them and they still didn't seem to care.
Cooke. Savard. Huh? Isn't that exactly what the Bruins did in the game where Cooke hit Savard? Yes?
