Eh, it's like you said, they won it last year, can't feel too bad. I didn't even really watch the game. Sacrilege I know. While it was the closest series ever it was also one of the most boring I've ever watched. Lots of defense, lots of mistakes, bad special teams. Meh. The Bruins wouldn't have gotten past Philly or really anyone else and I don't think Washington will either.

Washington needs to keep doing what they have been if they want to win the series: play sound defense, hope Holtby doesn't implode, and win by 1 or 2 goals. Pens/Flyers IS going to be a good series, NHL darling or not. I think the league would've preferred Rags/Caps and Bruins/Sens, but they'll have to be content with miking one series.

I don't like the Washington matchup for Boston. The Caps have defense issues and who the hell knows who's playing goalie for them, but they have enough offensive firepower from both forwards and defense to make any lead not safe. The Bruins have had issues with offensive defensemen.

Crap, I did not want the Capitals. They're not a very good team but they seem to have Boston's number this year.

It's still a valid point though. The overwhelming majority of Americans don't care about hockey.

If they played only Toronto, Philly and NJ in the playoffs I would like their chances, but I'll take the Pens or Rags over Boston in a 7 game series right now. Still plenty of time left in the season, though.

Good god the Leafs are bad. On one of the Boston goals the Leafs made a line change while Boston had the puck in the neutral zone. Hey look, a 4-on-2! After the second period the Bruins had as many goals (7) as the Leafs had shots on goal.
