Boston also has an aging goalie ready for trade. Anyone? Toronto? Boston hasn't totally screwed them in a trade in a few years, I think it's time for another.

Eh, it's like you said, they won it last year, can't feel too bad. I didn't even really watch the game. Sacrilege I know. While it was the closest series ever it was also one of the most boring I've ever watched. Lots of defense, lots of mistakes, bad special teams. Meh. The Bruins wouldn't have gotten past Philly or really anyone else and I don't think Washington will either.
I'll be rooting for the cats because of my man crush on Kevin Dineen, but I will support whoever wins. Don't really care for Philly or the rags or Ottawa.

What the fuck was Seguin doing wearing that big chain link around his neck? (post game interview)
It's given by the team to a player after every win in the playoffs. Last year it was some old beat up jacket bought on EBay, this time it's ridiculous chain link necklace. It's a team unity thing I think. Also, back to back game days followed by a two day layoff before a Game 7. Eff you NBC.

Yeah, I honestly don't think any of the Kings would intentionally hurt him, but like you say with a head injury it doesn't take much. A seemingly innocent hit could be taken as headhunting. I also don't think the Kings should have to avoid hitting anyone.
Part of me really wants a win tonight, it's not been fun at all and a little bit of enjoyment would be nice, since I'm staying up really fucking late EST time to watch these game.
Savard came back too early to play in the playoffs, didn't get hit or anything, but was never the same after that. Just playing professional hockey can be detrimental to your health when still recovering from a concussion.

Fish flopping everywhere! This is why players dive: it often works and it's almost never penalized.
Nice hit by Brown on Sedin.
Edit: Also, these CBC announcers are awful.

Well after that exciting match the next game on the docket is... Florida/New Jers- zzzzzzzzzzzz
Yeah, that Bruins/Caps matchup is lighting the world on fire. Devils scored as many goals in 2 minutes as the Bruins scored in 2 games. They've also let in more goals in one period than the Bruins have in 2 games.

The Penguins can't even let Crosby fight his own altercations. Dude, if he wants to throw down with Hartnell, then let him. Adams had to resort to pulling Hartnell's hair. Really? Eh, I don't have much of a problem with that. It was a smart play by Adams honestly. I would not want my top player going against Hartnell. Edit: I also have no idea how they haven't tossed Neal yet, just to keep the game somewhat under control.

Had to share these, of Backstrom getting mugged in the 3rd period after whacking at a rebound (no penalty, though if this happened to you in real life, there'd be an arrest and a lawsuit ) That's because Backstrom was being a little ass coming in way after the whistle blew to take a whack at Thomas. The Bruins being gentlemen, they never do that kind of crap at all. Give us a break. Backstrom came in way late and got taken out. Don't mess with the goalie. You failed to mention Johansson wasn't even touched when he took a whack at Thomas' glove because he did it right at the whistle, which happens all the time. Actually, the Caps need to be willing to do more of that ass-ness. That's what the pundits always proclaim them unwilling to do in the playoffs. Seriously? The Bruins absolutely thrive on chippy games. Washington needs to keep doing what they have been if they want to win the series: play sound defense, hope Holtby doesn't implode, and win by 1 or 2 goals. If they try to play the Bruins game (i.e. willing to more of that ass-ness) they will lose. That's what Vancover found out last year.

They would probably put Panthers/Devils on at 10:30pm every night if they could.
Pens/Flyers IS going to be a good series, NHL darling or not. I think the league would've preferred Rags/Caps and Bruins/Sens, but they'll have to be content with miking one series.
I don't like the Washington matchup for Boston. The Caps have defense issues and who the hell knows who's playing goalie for them, but they have enough offensive firepower from both forwards and defense to make any lead not safe. The Bruins have had issues with offensive defensemen.

It's still a valid point though. The overwhelming majority of Americans don't care about hockey.
I'm sure all hockey-playing countries would love to have the same success in hockey that Canada does just as Canada would love to have the same success in pretty much every other sport ever. Oh, except curling. And figure skating now too it seems.

I am late to the party, but going from VB.NET to C# is never a bad thing. I went the other way and having to put "dim" before everything makes me want to gouge my eyes out.

I'm forced into the unenviable situation of rooting for the Bruins this evening, hoping they keep the Caps down prior to Fridays Sabres-Penguins game.
Sadly the Bruins couldn't help you. It was pretty hilarious to see Washington blow a 2-0 lead with 3 minutes to go, though. The Caps are not a good team. I think most playoff teams are rooting for them over Buffalo at this point.

If he's not out for too long and there are no lingering effects, then it could definitely be a good thing. It's not like Vancouver is going to miss the playoffs.

Everyone settle down!
The Bruins won one game over a team that wets themselves when they see them. Seriously. The Bruins still aren't that good. I believe that to be true. And I also believe the Leafs are really that bad! Don't worry, I don't think the Canucks are that good either.

No Horton, no Peverley, Thomas playing average and the rest of the team not picking up the slack. If they played only Toronto, Philly and NJ in the playoffs I would like their chances, but I'll take the Pens or Rags over Boston in a 7 game series right now. Still plenty of time left in the season, though.

Good god the Leafs are bad. On one of the Boston goals the Leafs made a line change while Boston had the puck in the neutral zone. Hey look, a 4-on-2! After the second period the Bruins had as many goals (7) as the Leafs had shots on goal.
Also nice to see another Lucic beating of Komisarek.
