321  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: League of Legends & Heroes of Newerth on: July 21, 2009, 08:24:56 AM
i played one public game 5v5 (HoN) and it was the worst game experience i ever had. Not because of the game itself (though i can't live without zoom out feature like in demigod) but because of very hostile community. Some of players were trying to kick me on the very beggining just because i didn't cast the spell the moment they wanted me to do this. I now i sucked during the game, i had level 11 when they were 13-16, i died 13 times or sth and they were trying to kick me whole game. Often instead of playing they were calling my names. More people have similar impressions as i read they beta forum.

So i don't want to be a part of DotA or any DotA-like community cause it's not fun at all. Even if i learned the game to play perfectly i woudn't want to play with teammates that curse at other weaker/noob players most of the time. The only solution i think is playing with friends, so i can try again if you are online and want to try the game too smile.

The game itself is quite very well made, has many features that i would like to see in Demigod (in game friends management and very detailed statistics for example).

Because of very unfriendly DotA-like community and lack of zoom-out feature i'm sticking to Demigod.

i wanna tell only this: Hark is cheating! smile When we played HoN on the opposing teams, he could tell me all the stuff (items) that i had. He calls it "looking" but i know it is "cheating" biggrin
324  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: League of Legends & Heroes of Newerth on: July 20, 2009, 11:12:07 AM
does beta HoN have any singel player to learn the basics of the game? If you have to start multiplayer at first run of the game, it's no suprise there are people level 2 when everyone else is level 17 smile
325  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: League of Legends & Heroes of Newerth on: July 20, 2009, 10:44:16 AM
at last - even though i was too late to get my key for HoN (vacations) i got one today from somebody else smile. So i'll try this game tonight. If anyone is going to play (and give me some begginer tips smile) i will be available in the evening (EU time).
326  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: League of Legends & Heroes of Newerth on: July 15, 2009, 06:19:27 PM
ok, done - i bought Frozen Throne (in Poland it's just $5.3, Reign of Chaos is 4.3$ smile). Now i'll try this whole DotA and see if it's worth my time smile.
LOL - i bought two games just for mod/map running on them, and not the games themselves smile

You need Frozen Throne

Quote
    *   A computer capable of running Warcraft III
    * A set of authentic Warcraft III and Warcraft III The Frozen Throne CD
    * A stable internet connection of 56 kbps or above.
    * Latest dota map from www.getdota.com

If we didn't have the wealth of this game type in the pipeline I would be joining you but would need to purchase WCIII

too bad i don't have frozen throne frown
oh does i really need CD? if i had downloadable versions of WIIIRoC and WIIIFT from Blizzard online shop it woudn't be enough?

not surprising since it's the only one that's out slywink

There's DotA... maybe i'll try if this runs on my laptop. I understand it's some mod for Warcraft III. I don't know if you need Warcraft III Reign of Chaos or Frozen Throne... I'll try to run it with my Reign of Chaos and see if it works.

i became fun of HoN on facebook and signed up for LoL beta testing - http://leagueoflegends.com/beta/signup
Games look pretty interesting, though for now Demigod is the best one for me smile

that's why i wrote that, so you didn't think i quit playing DG. For me it's the best game for now smile I can't play it on my laptop so i read the forums (GT and official DG) more often now smile
331  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Demigod - MP Fun on: July 11, 2009, 06:54:56 PM
i'd love to, but i'm on vacation and my laptop here is too slow (i think) to even run the game. But i'll be back in 8 days so we will again rule the Demigod world together smile

Yep I enjoyed the game last night a lot - longest game I have played yet, I didn't get the map glitches  that Hark was experiencing but then I think I am clicking much more than I need to but does mean i;m controlling where he goes.

yea i'm doing the same, whenever i use/start/stop ability and want to move somewhere i click even several times till i see the demigod is moving for sure. I got used to it, because it was very frustrating at the beggining before the all patches.
We had a great chance to win this game but we weren't coordinated enough. Well over time we will be better and better, just remember: first of all, don't die smile

Very true - no other time is good  ninja Seriously though Jerome has opened posting events for everyone so events can now be posted which make it easier when crossing time zones

Yeah, that will make life easier for everyone.  smile

but remember "Tals time" is not only [GMT+1] on summer... it is [GMT +1 + wife dependance factor * wife happiness] so it suits me perfectly too smile.
Our yesterday game was very long and even though wo lost i liked it very much smile. Sorry Hark that we were leaving you before the battle so often, just have your eyes all around you when you'r going into battle with one or more enemy demigods smile. Sometimes it's not worth to chase them, but better take the flag or creeps.

i can play today (thursday) from about 6 pm (GMT + 2), tommorow from much later time. Just catch me on xfire if you are online smile.
340  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Demigod on: June 24, 2009, 06:26:47 AM
that's fantastic smile it's good to remember that the demigod every two months is not a promise! Frogboy would only like it to be this way but time will show...
I'm sure the game will be growing bigger, better, more popular - i love the game too, though people that leave early or rage quit are annoying for me. That's when concede option comes in handy smile
341  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Demigod on: June 22, 2009, 06:53:47 AM
The most enjoyable Demigod matches for me are those that last till everyone has 20 level, giants and starting to get all citadel upgrades smile. This was such a game - very good end of the day smile
342  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Demigod on: June 14, 2009, 10:11:43 PM
the last game (4v4) was really interesting. We won it but they had bigger levels that we and one of them got even more favor points than some of us! So why did they lose actually? maybe they invested too less money into their citadel...

yea it's great help but look out - some items maybe out of date already! If you're gonna make some strategies base on this - it's better to check the game if all the items have right parameters.

What a difference a day makes. Playing tonight was a world of difference, games entered quickly - got people in quickly and won one and lost one. For the first time I stayed alive as Regulus - think I like him as an irritiating DG for the opposition.

Tals

Regulus is the best with the favor item that gives you thunderbolt! It's awesome then - gives you more demigod and grunts kills and more exp smile

346  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Demigod on: June 03, 2009, 04:40:17 PM
i just played two games using rook. WOW - it can be so powerful, i took the favour item that gives +800 health, didn't take ANY speed boosting, but all money spent on health/armor/damage - we won two times! I took two special artefact items so my attack speed was about 55% bigger and my damage was about 300-400 with one hit (and every several hits it was more than 500 because of some item - i didn't know even which one smile). I think i will play rook more often smile

I'd agree as rook I shouldn't touch the middle flag. I'm just too slow and levelling is so important. I also should be hitting there towers earlier

Tals what favour item do you take as a rook? I thought maybe it would be good to try swift anklet (+15% speed) and later buy the boots of speed (+10%). It would be a nice boost to rook's worst weeknesses i think (slow speed) and you could run away from death more often smile. Then buy items that improve your healing ability per second and damage per second.
I'll try to buy today Heaven's Wrath (when have enough favour points) and we'll see some thunders around the map lol
348  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Demigod - MP Fun on: May 30, 2009, 09:54:51 AM
thx for yesterday gaming. We played with complete noobs in the other team - i didn't even noticed when Tals destroyed their citadel on his own! LOL i was fighting some demigods, then started going to the artifact shop but didn't managed to - Several Rook's hits and it's over the game biggrin. Rook can be powerful and can end the game Quickly. On the otherhand it's very slow, and when surrounded by enemy demigods and far from reinforcements - it can be easily killed.
That's how it is when you get hit by the Rook's hammer or tower light: smile

Wonderful game smile, but rage quitters are very annoying.

ugh.. no tutorials?

play some single player and you will learn smile. If you still will have questions - ask, or we can even play once together against AI and you will learn everything smile. It's better than playing multi in the beggining and loose all matches because you don't know much about the game yet.
