If you can party up with randoms, I'm fine with 3-6 man raids.  I've always had good luck with randoms believe it or not in games that require cooperation...

We'll see. Really hoping this game is great.  If it is, I'll probably bump up to the one with the expansion pass...

In the alpha it was quite easy to get into a random group, I just selected the mission area and the game found two other players to join in.  No issues at all.

Yep, talking with the team at Bungie that's their goal.  They want seamless jump-in, jump-out at all times, even for Raids.

I've been using Norton 360.  It's went pretty well so far, though the password vault can be incredibly intrusive / dumb at times.   My PC has developed a hitch while I browse the web where it pauses every 5-7 seconds for about a second.  not sure if that's Norton or something else.
46  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / [Movie] Taken 3? on: July 14, 2014, 04:52:57 PM
So I was looking at the next year's slated movies and I spotted Taken 3 on the release list for mid next year.  Turns out that it's a thing:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taken_3

I really, really enjoyed the first two, but I have no idea where they'll go with 3.  Is the daughter going to have a kid so they can have three people kidnapped to match the sequel number?   icon_eek

It's been a while since we had one of these threads.   What do you do for a living?   I'll start:

I am the Manager of Production Network Engineering at Go Daddy.  It's the equivalent of four jobs in one, that's for sure.   I also occasionally teach martial arts at a not-so-nearby studio.  Oh, I also run this place.

Not as of now. Well, maybe. But low quality. Like iphone shot stuff. We recorded a few weeks back still waiting for it to get mixed this week. 8-10 hrs of recording turns into a chore. A fun chore but still..

Keep us posted - would love to hear it.

As for the mixing stuff, yea...I've done my share of that in the past.  It's a lot of small adjustments on super-zoomed waveforms and audio balancing over and over and over.  Tedious, but when it's done right it's pretty awesome.

I would like to see some tutorials or quick run throughs of the more highly rated games.

Isn't the chili cheese burrito one of those things you can still get but isn't on the menu? The enchirito was like that for years (think it's back on the menu at least). I liked the chili cheese as well, but I never understood why and it kind if scared me. The chili didn't look or taste like chili, if I order a bowl of chili from someplace and they gave me that I would be disgusted. Somehow it worked wrapped in a tortilla though.

Oh you couldn't describe whatever the hell that is in that burrito as chili.  Somehow it was just exactly the right level of disgusting/awesome after a hard workout.  I miss them, but my waistline is grateful.  smile

Shadowrun Dragonfall....sigh.  I was probably 3/4 though the game and then *poof*, save files disappeared.  Oh wait, that happened in Shadowrun Returns too.  :/

what happen?

That is a great question.  We took a massive influx of folks to the forum and it flipped over and cried like a little girl.  When the database crashed it corrupted the table for the forum posts.  That's nearly 1 million posts.  0_0     Attempting a repair from phpmyadmin GUI was fruitless due to the size of the table, but it did take the whole box down in its wake, twice.  I went through some of the code and repaired sections by hand and was able to repair the rest from the command line over night last night.  After that, a few more crashed tables surfaced.  I knocked those out.   The last one was a 2GB cache file called "Pretty URLs".   It's what makes this post, as an example, http://gamingtrend.com/forums/forum-and-site-feedback/so-the-news/ easily read from the title rather than saying something like http://gamingtrend.com/forums/forum-and-site-feedback/23498071    Using the knowledge I gained from repairing the other obscenely huge file I was able to crank that one out, fixing the paging issue (users who clicked page 95 of the Steam Deal thread, for instance, instead just redirected to a random page in the forum).

I've done a great deal of maintenance on the forums and they seem zippier than I've seen in a very long time.  I think, while painful, this netted us some additional speed (and me a lot of knowledge) in the long run.

Want some awesome codes that do awesome amazing stuff that I can't readily tell you what those things are right now!?   WHO DOESN'T?!

I have no idea what these collector's cards do, but you can attach them to your game in some way, and they are free.  They can be used over and over, so everyone here can nab all 17 of them.

First, go here: http://www.bungie.net/en/User/redeemedcodes

Make an account or sign into your existing one.  Enter the code, rinse repeat.

1: Warlock: YKA-RJG-MH9
2: Hunter: 3DA-P4X-F6A
3: Titan: MVD-4N3-NKH
4: Rixis Archon Slayer: TCN-HCD-TGY

Guess not.  I'm seeing issues where some threads (i.e. the Steam Deals thread) aren't working correctly.  You'll click on page 94 and it takes you to...hell, I don't even know.  I know which database table to repair but it is huge...trying to research how to do that safely.    Stand by.   New threads shouldn't be affected at all, and it seems that *most* threads are working as intended.   icon_evil
