I sincerely appreciate all of your kind words.   It's crazy to think that we've been doing this for over a decade and change (when you factor in CG time).    CG was a passing fancy for me in the beginning, but it's certainly grown into something awesome.   Here's some trivia as an advance on our 10 year anniversary....

When I first started Console Gold I was updating each page in Dreamweaver by hand.  I would change each page and then re-upload them.  0_0

Yep, I'm here with ya.   I read the books too and I thought they did a pretty solid job of sticking to the material.  Two things - realize not every movie is Citizen Kane, and then go watch Citizen Kane and realize that it's not as good as you remember it to be.  smile   Just like the upcoming Robocop reboot, I'm going to ignore the PG-13 rating (boooo) and just enjoy the flick.  (hopefully)

(and then I'm gonna come home and watch the unedited extended Criteron Edition of the original in all of it's absolutely horrifyingly awesome levels of ultraviolence)

People got excited when they herd Gearbox was doing an Aliens game...then Colonial Marines happened. There's been a surprising number of Aliens themed games and IMO only a few have been worth anything. This games got allot to overcome to get me to lay down cash for it.

If Gearbox had done the work, we might have had something.  This Sega outsources to Gearbox which outsourced to the now-defunct TimeGate Studios.  At least there is only the dev and publisher in this scenario.  (or at least we hope so...)

Starting a weightloss challenge at work tomorrow.

Already lost 6 lbs. Fasting x2 a week (24 hour H2O + lemon juice cleansing cycle).

Also trying to stick to paleo foods. May go for the 2-400 cal. x7 meals throughout the day. Already having a cup of cottage cheese as my last snack (casein protein to carry me through cleansing periods and nighttimes).

I'm 254 right now. FWIW I hit a milestone in the gym three weeks ago. 5 reps of 350lbs on bench. (to just better than 90deg - I've injured my shoulder in the past, so I don't force it).

I can now swing and change direction on monkey bars. Max is 54 rungs. Problem is, the TRX system at the Y has bars that are too narrow by about an 1/8 - 1/4 inch so I end up getting blisters. Gloves don't help.

The TRX system is that hateful system with the straps too, right?  I damned near killed myself on this exercise:

The Division.  sadly, not a Q1 game.  I've got those 3 plus Witcher 3 and Dying Light as first day buys.  to be honest, I had considered skipping out, but seeing those games in action and knowing what Sony's 1st party devs can be capable of convinced me to buy in.  Watchdogs was going to be the bundled in game when I got the system as well.

The Division looks incredible.  I love the post-apocalypse gameplay without a zombie in sight.  People are FAR more scary in their desperation than any monster we could create....

A POS is like a hybrid of a PPO and an HMO. You designate a primary care doc who's in the network. You can get care anyplace you want, but if you go out of network you'll pay for it yourself...UNLESS your primary care doc referred you there.
How is this different than most insurance carriers?  Is it partially covered or completely uncovered?  I've not checked, but obviously there is a big difference between "not covered" and "higher co-pay".

Quote
We have a PPO through my wife's employer with no choice in the matter. It divides the world into low-cost and high-cost providers. We can go wherever we want, but the high-cost tier has a higher deductible ($1500 per person vs $750) and lower coverage (usually 50% vs. 80%). This year the doc that we've had for 20+ years inexplicably slipped into the high-cost tier, so now we have to throw away 20 years of history with a doc that we both like and start over with somebody else because we suddenly can't afford to see our doctor anymore -- except for preventive care, which is always covered 100% (thanks, Obama!).
If I understand it, that works exactly like the private insurance I have.  Most doctors that I've seen charge you per 'item' you see them about.  When he asks how you are doing if you say "Doc, I've got a headache and my stomach is bothering me, but I'm here to see you about this sucking chest wound" he's gonna charge you for diagnostics x3 which makes it a 'complex' case.  I ran into this with a doctor who I realized was nickle and diming me to death by sticking me for ~170 per visit because everything was marked as 'complex'.  Ended up switching doctors as a result to one I felt like I could have a conversation with and not get sodomized by my insurance...

Quote
Anytime we need to see a specialist or get tests done, we have to call up the insurance company to find out where the low-cost providers are. The hospital that's five miles from our house is on the forbidden list. Now if we need hospitalization we have to either go 20 miles south or into the city, alternatives that are about equally inconvenient.
Yep, ran into this too with my wife's doctor.  We asked her to join Blue Cross Network of providers and about a month later she was in.  Not sure every doctor would bother, but it can't hurt to ask.

Quote
I wish that we could drop her employer's coverage and buy a plan from the exchange, but that's not an option. We have to pay $600/mo for insurance that we don't like.
Why is that?  I'm just not familiar, so I'm asking seriously.  Why can't you bail the coverage?

Quote
One of my best friends is a doctor. I asked him: If a long-time patient came to you with this problem, would you consider tweaking your rate structure to fit the insurance company's low-cost definition? He just laughed. That definition is a moving target -- even if he did bow to our insurance company's will, they will surely change their definitions again. He is thinking seriously about converting his practice to a concierge system that doesn't take insurance at all, which I guess is a rising trend among independent docs now.
Sounds like your insurance truly does suck.  frown   That's no good.  Any doctor that opts out of the system lost me though - I'm not paying ridiculous rates out of pocket just to 'spite the man'.

Christians tend to be against abortion, so by their eyes they are trying to protect life for others. Things like this go against rshetts2's paragraph. We don't want laws made off of others people's beliefs, believe what you want as long as it's not hurting anyone else, but it could be argued abortions makes other people's lives worse. The religious people feel abortion is affecting others right to life.

Slippery slope..
Very slippery.   Our laws are typically written around Christian beliefs, but we as a nation freely infringe on other religions.  We also step on those who don't believe in religion at all.  For instance, the abortion stance is 100% based on a Christian based morality, and we have laws constructed around that.  What if you are an atheist?  You have no moral obligation to God at that point, and thus why should this law apply to you?  Additionally, if you look at the hours stores are open you'll find that they all typically close early on Sundays - something based around a religious background.  Much of what we do here in the states is heavily couched in Christianity.

As for me, when I clearly saw people I once thought of as Christian brothers and sisters persecute gays, Muslims, atheists, blacks, Jews, and pretty much anyone else that isn't white and Christian, I stopped being one myself.  I'm not saying all Christians are that way, far from it, but in my opinion, the people that are representing that 'block' of people politically are dangerous.  As a friend of mine once said - "I don't hate the right people to be Christian".

My stance as I've gotten older is that it is better to be a good person and try to do the right thing for as many people as I can than to subscribe to any one affiliation or another.  I'm a religious person, but I do not follow religion.

Just my 2c.
