Most of the combinations are pretty easy.  The really long combos take some practice to pull of though.  I suppose I might have mentioned that there is also a 'move list' menu accessable at any time that shows a good chunk of the moves. (no fatailities though)
15882  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / [PC-PR] Horizons: Empire of Istaria gets Auction System on: October 04, 2004, 09:37:41 PM
Auctions....the basis of a player-run economy.

September 30, 2004  MESA, Ariz. – Artifact Entertainment, the developers of Horizons: Empire of Istaria today announced the commencement of in-game property auctions for subscribers. Horizons, a massively multiplayer on-line game (MMOG), allows subscriber characters to bid on over 1770 available plots of in-game land. Once the auction is complete, the plot owner has the opportunity to build, or contract other players to build, personal houses, and workable structures ranging from a blacksmith shop to a jewelry center, to storage silo on that property.
Groups of players with similar interests who have banded together as a Guild may also pool their resources to purchase a master Guild plot. When the associated Guild house is complete, over 900 other Guild Plots are then available to guild members for purchase and development.
Artifact Entertainment’s CEO, David Bowman says, “In Horizons, crafting is an integral part of community building and the player developed economy. The Istarian Auction was necessary after our shard consolidation and provides a well-rounded and equitable solution for many players who previously owned property.” Bowman continued, “Right now Horizons has 20 trade and craft schools a player can join. Our crafting system is well known to be intricate, specialized and fun. Increasing the number of available structures a plot owner can develop on their property continues our tradition of this robust crafting system.”
Istarian property is available in many different sizes. Depending on the size of the plot a player can construct a single building or, on larger plots, develop many buildings that provide different benefits to the player and their community.
Player built structures also feature new functionality. “Previously, player built personal residences were simply meeting areas, now these homes can be used as inventory storage for the many items a player accumulates through ordinary game play.” stated Mr. Bowman.  “If a character chooses to create the structure themselves they earn crafting experience points in that crafting school; this is another reward and incentive for players to experience all that Horizons has to offer. This plot auction is the first of its kind in a massively multiplayer fantasy world; it adds a new level of excitement to the game and allows players to form a strategy to get the plot they want. The process for all 1,770+ plots will take about 10 days to complete. To accommodate this auction we have added technology and functionality to the game that can be used again and again.” said Bowman.

I really enjoyed the heck out of KOTOR as well.  I was impressed at how well they managed to keep me locked in.  I just couldn't put the thing down until I finished it!  The second trip through on the evil side was good, but not quite as good, probably because I knew the twist at the end.

HK is the best character in recent memory in a game that I can think of.  hhhee....meatbag.

In the next few days you'll start to see a little bit of advertising on Console Gold.  I wanted to reiterate a few promises I made in the past and let you know that they hold true now:

1.) There will never be pop up/under/anywhere ads of any sort.
2.) The ads will never have sound
3.) I will try to run the site without them, but I ask that you click them now and again as it keeps the lights on at CG when we do run them.
4.) Advertisements = improvements.  I re-invest the vast majority of any money we make directly back into the site in the form of improvements for you.

I just wanted to make those items clear before we move forward.  Don't worry...there won't be any McGriddle madness on the site, you have my word. slywink

"Shadow Ops: Red Mercury" offers players a gripping movie-style gaming experience through its unprecedented Hollywood production values, intense action and ground-breaking sound and visual effects. The game was developed with industry-leading gaming technology, including advanced AMD64 processors that enable simultaneous 32- and 64-bit computing as well as THX(TM)-certified sound to create the ultimate Hollywood-style visuals and audio immersion.

"`Shadow Ops: Red Mercury' uses the latest in PC gaming technology and story-telling techniques to present an amazing video and audio experience, on par with the most explosive Hollywood summer blockbusters," said Wim Stocks, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Atari. In "Shadow Ops: Red Mercury," the player fills the battle-scarred combat boots of Frank Hayden, a special forces operative hand-picked to track down and destroy the stolen "Red Mercury," a secret substance of unspeakable power that threatens the world with nuclear annihilation. The player faces off against blood-thirsty terrorists, renegade military forces and highly trained enemy special forces in a last ditch desperation mission to prevent the ultimate terror from reaching the world's greatest cities. "Shadow Ops: Red Mercury" also challenges players to take their battle-tested combat skills online to face off against one another in fierce multiplayer military skirmishes.

The new PC version features improved textures, gameplay and an expanded multiplayer functionality with more maps than ever before.

Some of the game's groundbreaking features include:

-- A top Hollywood writing team, renowned for work in films and video games, wrote the entire script for the game, including all in game cut-scenes and cinematics

-- Developer Zombie Studios traveled the world, taking thousands of digital photos to create ultra-realistic textures for game locations like the Congo, Kazakhstan, Syria, Chechnya and more

-- Military consultants, including former special forces members, worked with Zombie Studios to ensure realistic military movements in the game and provided motion capture acting

-- An original score by a renowned composer of award-winning music for film, video games and television, that includes more than an hour of interactive music unique for each in-game location

-- All music for the game was recorded by the Northwest Symphonia, providing for a powerful performance and a more compelling audio experience

-- More than 30 minutes of movie-like cinematics created by Attitude Studios that use Hollywood-style shots to further immerse the player in the interactive blockbuster experience

"Shadow Ops: Red Mercury" is now available for personal computer on DVD-only in North America, and is already available worldwide on the Xbox(TM) video game system from Microsoft with an estimated retail price in North America of $19.95 and an ESRB rating of 'T' for Teen.
