I just had to post. This is lonely thread. I'm no expert just someone passing by.

Heh, it's also a very tough ask.   What I'm looking to put together would be difficult, even for an expert.  Still...it's a paying job.  smile

So I just spotted an ad for the next "he's not that short" Tom Cruise epic called Edge of Tomorrow.   Here's the description from IMDB:

"A soldier fighting in a war with aliens finds himself caught in a time loop of his last day in the battle, though he becomes better skilled along the way. "

So....Groundhog day?   With Bill Paxton and Jeremy Piven on deck with him, this is sure to be....something.

I recall going to a THQ event to talk to Relic about Warhammer 40k and asking "So...when are we getting Homeworld HD?" and watching them turn a bright shade of red that they could never get it off the ground.  I'm glad it's coming, but I really wish it was coming from Relic instead of Gearbox.

I got 3 new Steam games from the Octopus Overlords, doubling my inventory and giving me my first-ever backlog. Also two flannel shirts from a BIL who apparently didn't get the no-more-gifts memo.

Hmm, people gave me a couple of games in the OO group, but I never go there anymore after my last meltdown. icon_neutral I take it people were giving out games?

Yeah, somebody started a "Wishtmas" thread in which people started fulfilling sub-$5 wishlist items in their Steam friends lists. Many of those recipients who could afford to do so "paid it forward" with more gifts. They were flying fast and furious for a week or so; virtually everybody who participated got multiple free games, whether we could pay it forward or not. Their generosity was humbling to somebody like me who only ever buys 1-2 games a year at most. An interesting side effect was that my Steam friends list went from 0 to 19 in a few days.
That's pretty awesome.  We should totally do something like that.

I paid it forward a different way - I donated a small section of my game collection.  In total, a shade over 250 games, my quad-rotor helicopter, a portable DVD player, and a bunch more totaling $15,000 for the Phoenix Children's Hospital here in Phoenix.  I may not have kids, but I hope I helped someone's kid through a tough time in their life.   The Weghted Companion Cube will never threaten to stab you.

Not sure why nobody else started one, but I'll start off!

From left to right - a pair of leather shoes with dragons on them, a black French-cuff dress shirt, Cards Against Humanity with a LEGO Loki minifig on top, a pair of dragons a dear friend gave me, a Samus fig from Japan,  Zelda: Link Between Worlds for 3DS, a dragon notebook, an Atlas of Weaponry (goes over war tactics from ancient to modern), and a new pair of combat boots.  I picked up the PS4 and XB1 to tackle reviews (like the shiny 15% I handed out to Fighter Within the other day)  A pretty awesome year!  I'm very thankful....

How'd you guys make out?

I was excited to play this game.  The Kinect 2.0 has more than enough power and fidelity to handle it.  Guess this is what happens when you take a brand new studio with one game (a survival horror game at that) and push them into "Hey, make a motion game and have it ready for launch" territory.

GT Community,

I'd like to combine the functionality of several websites into one.  I'd like the aggregation systems of Metacritic allowing users to submit via a form their reviews that would, in an automated fashion, aggregate after being approved by our staff.  I'd also like to allow users to be able to submit news which will be vetted by a certain number of community votes and then approved when it hits X number of approvals.  See N4G.com for examples.

I'd like these to be extensions of Wordpress and I will own the end results. You will provide source code and documentation.

You will support and debug for 120 days post-launch.  Applicants must speak and understand English fluently.

This will form the backbone of several sites I'm building in 2014, so I want this moving sooner rather than later.  Payment upon delivery of the functional end results.  smile   If you know somebody with the skills, put them in touch with me and we'll talk turkey...or money...or whatever they accept for payment.  burke[at]gamingtrend.com

This has nothing to do with belittling anyones religion and everything to do about not being tolerant of bigotry and hate.  Robertson happened to cloak his bigotry in in the Bible, hence why its even brought into play.

The reason there's so much confusion here is because his bigotry is mirrored by bigotry in the Bible.  I don't think there's any denying that the Bible is a bigoted, homophobic book in its own right.  So, when attacking his bigotry, he can claim that the Bible is being attacked, despite the fact that his elaborations are even worse than what the Bible said.

Both Phil AND the Bible should be getting condemned by society here, not just one or the other.

I have a few tendencies but they are thankfully very mild.  It's more ritual than the counting of things or stuff like that.   It sounds stupid, but I can't just peel an orange and eat it.  I have to cut all the way around top to bottom and then all the way around the middle, peel it off in quarters. That goes on one paper towel. With the peel removed I then pull off each section and set it on a separate paper towel.  I remove any of the little stringy bits and put that on the first paper towel.  I then throw the trash away, wash my hands, and then eat the orange.  Similarly, a rice crispy treat is to be broken into bite sized pieces.  Some people around me noticed that I do it this way every single time.  I'd never noticed.  Those are just some examples but that's an example of how it affects me.
