Well, now that its over, I think I can finally admit . . . that I really have no clue as to how to play this game! I actually realized that fairly early, so I decided to concentrate on my strengths - collecting tribute and building machines! Too bad there's no "Infernal Engineer" victory condition! Oh well, it was fun anyway - thanks to all for sticking with it!

For some reason I have a hankering for a Hunting or Fishing game.
Any suggestions on something that is actually fun?
I know you're asking for 360/PS3 but I'm going to ignore that part and suggest you look up a PC title called "The Hunter". It takes a pretty decent rig to run, but its gotten a lot of attention over at Gamers with Jobs. Just FYI.

It looks like we have 4 for Pyperkub's game. Chaz and Knightsabre, are you both okay with an Epic, Large game or are you looking for a Normal game? If we're all good with Epic, Large, we can give it another day to see if we get more interest, or I'm sure I could drum up a couple of players to fill in the slots. If Chaz and Knightsabre are more interested in a normal game, I'm sure we could get one of those going pretty soon, too.
I'm ok with any size game!

So my PC just barely - and I mean BARELY - meets the minimum requirements. Has anyone heard anything about how it plays at the low end of the scale? I just really want it to run smoothly from the BG2 isometric view!

I bet it can't simulate the mosquitoes, rain or sunburn from passing out in the boat from too much beer.
The developers recommend placing your tv and 360 in the back yard while experiencing the fishing experience.

Hi all, I've been thinking about selling my laptop - but I'm a little concerned about what any buyer might be able to retrieve from the hard drive. Personal info, my plans for world domination, that sort of thing . . . I have Windows XP installed, but no longer have the original windows cd's so I don't think I can just format and then re-install Windows. Any suggestions on cleaning up the hard drive while keeping XP alive and well?

OK - How many people do we have? ...and isn't it "DOVE"? I believe we had 5 yesterday - I did see that Gamers with Jobs has a team as well. Maybe between them, us, and QT3 we can field a big enough group to actually play a game

I would love to play the online mode with some people who actually understand the game! NHL 08 is definitely a day 1 purchase for me!

Glad I'm not the only one who seems to have hit a wall on week 3, day 1! My first try made me seriously consider starting the entire program from scratch! But I decided to rest an extra day, then try the week 3 day 1 again, and it went much better.

Altho I still wished I'd taken a shot at being a pimp.
It's never too late to pursue your dream! I'd recommend joining us in the "100 pushup challenge" thread to make sure you are physically ready for your new career. You're going to want well developed pectorals to deliver a proper pimp-slap.

Wow - this makes me realize how long its been since I read those original Howard stories! I will agree that Beyond the Black River is probably the best Conan story I've ever read.

I don't know how to do it myself, but I will point you to www.wargamer.comIf anyone would know, it will be the guys on that site. Try searching the forums there, and I believe there is also a Panzer General "microsite" you can access from the front page there. Anyway, thats a good place to try.

Hey Jeff - the pitching meter is not in the manual (at least, not in the PSP version, which is the one I have). But as near as I can tell, this is how the meter works: First you hit the button to select the pitch you want and aim for the location you desire - now at this point, you hit the button (x on psp) to start the meter. The yellow-to-red part of the meter is the power section; the more red, the harder the throw (but the harder the throw, the less accurate). Anyway, once you click to select the power range you want, the meter starts the other direction - now, in the blue area of the meter, there should be a thin white line. This is your ideal release point - hit it perfectly, and you have a perfect release. This can be complicated by your pitcher's confidence level, however. If he is not confident in the pitch you're throwing, that thin white line will blur into a . . . well, kind of a hazy patch of gray-white. Anyway, thats the basics of the pitching meter (and if I'm wrong, someone please correct me so I can start pitching effectively!). Hope that helps!

I've been having some strange issues as well, ever since I applied the latest update. Weird connection problems for no apparent reason, that kind of thing.

Judas Priest does seem to be kind of a strange choice - I'll pick up at least a couple of the songs anyway, but where's the AC/DC? Or Led Zeppelin? I want to sing "The Immigrant Song"!

Xmann, I feel your pain on the "lollipop" throws - it happens with my fielders and with the AI fielders, and I don't really understand how to avoid it. As far as batting though, I'm having a lot of variety in hits so far. I have some games where the opp pitcher dominates me, and then I'll have a game with 20+ hits. So anyway, if anyone knows how to fix the underhand tosses, please let me know.

Picked up the PSP version - this is my first time with the series, so the options at the start feel a bit overwhelming but I finally just started a season mode with the Angels. I had played through just the first couple innings of the first spring training game when, unfortunately for me, I started to feel very sick, very suddenly. Not because of the game, by the way - I'm fairly sure I had food poisoning. Anyway, I plan on continuing to dig in with the game today, as I'm finally feeling better after a long, painful night. Graphically, seems very similar to the demo, so if you played that you know what to expect. Feels like a great game so far, with a ton of depth. I haven't even touched the road to the show feature, but I'm sure I'll get there. Now a question - I'm not a big time baseball fan, so whats a fun team to play with for the season mode? Any opinions?

Never have tried any of the series before, but I'm really enjoying it on PSP (no PS3 for me, but the graphics do look great for those that own one!). I'm not really a fan of real life MLB, but I think I will be picking this one up. So for those of you who follow the real thing, any suggestions for a good team to play? All I know about baseball is that the Yankees and Red Sox seem to dominate year in and year out, so I'd rather try a different organization.

Since I got a PSP for Christmas, I'll bring this thread back up and seek advice regarding the two main tennis games - Virtua Tennis vs Smash Court Tennis 3. I know they were mentioned earlier, but has anyone tried both? Any preferences? At the moment, I'm playing a lot of Hot Shots Golf, and I have Jeanne D'Arc waiting in the wings . . . and waiting . . . and waiting - because I can't seem to stop playing golf!! In fact, I may go knock out a quick round right now . . .

So I finally broke down and subscribed to Gametap . . . and I'm a bit overwhelmed. Rather than sift through all the choices, I thought I'd take the easy way out and get someone else's opinions. So, what are your favorites on Gametap? In particular, what are the "hidden gems" that one might have to search for a while before finding on his own? Thanks!
