My son-in-law has problems with his HP computer and described the above symptoms over the phone.  (He lives 5 hours away)

He was having problems about 2 months ago, and rolled it back to the original configuration.  He just got everything re-installed and now this happens.  

He did take out the battery for a day and clean out the case. He unplugged everything and re-seated it all. When he put it back together, it did run for a day then back to problems.

He put a new battery in, but it will not boot...

Any ideas of what to do would be greatly appreciated.  

He will bring it with him when the family comes next Tuesday. That will be the first time I see it. I can swap in some parts at that time.

jersoc, It's been a while since I played MP & MP2.  I liked them both a lot.  I agree that you should do Max Payne first if possible, but I wouldn't SKIP MP2 just because you didn't get the first one.

I'm in the same situation as Zero.  Any info on the DRM?  D2D is not exactly forthcoming with this info on their site.

Also, do they leave the original CP in place or is it stripped out?

EDIT - looks like I got at least a partial answer on the original CP.  They show that Black Shark has starforce. How about older games, though? - END EDIT

I couldn't remember how to do it so I started a new game and went to the tutorial. 

I agree about the N52.  I don't play games without it.

Most driving is mapped on the N52, but when you get to the fast driving portion, I think I plugged in a joystick.  I probably left the N52 in place.

You are in for a lot of fun with this game.  I want to go back and play it through again.

I briefly compared it with the printed manual, and I don't see any difference between the two. The manual isn't much help, but you will pick up a few tips.  This is what it says about weapon slots.

Primary
This category includes all long rifles, shotguns, sniper rifles, and certain two-handed assault
weapons. Press the 3 key to equip.
Secondary
This category includes all side-arms, machine-pistols, certain single-handed assault weapons,
and improvised bombs. Press the 2 key to equip.
Special
This category includes all heavy weapons (MG, RPG) and weapons that function on fuel or
reagents. Press the 4 key to equip.

The 1903 rifle is more accurate than the dragunov, but does not have the advantage of rapid fire, so I combined it with the mac 10 for close quarters. Just tap the trigger of the mac 10. It empties the clip very rapidly. The flamethrower is OK for emergencies. When I was able to afford it, I got the PKM LMG in place of the flamethrower.  It's similar to a SAW. 

I bought reliability upgrades for the mac 10 and PKM, but not the accuracy one for them.  I got both accuracy and reliability upgrades for the sniper rifle and the assault rifle. Also, every time I stop in a weapon shop, I grab new weapons all around. I have had no malfunctions with my purchased weapons. 

Interestingly, the MP5 is very accurate over long distances.  I don't think that is the way it works in real life.  IMO, It doesn't help much for stealth.

I appreciate Eightball's comments, and I want to try out the Dart rifle when I can.

As far as diamonds are concerned, I found quite a few on my own, but after I've been in an area for a while, I get tired of looking for them.  Someone in the other thread posted a map of the

briefcase locations.  I printed it out and have it here at my desk. 

Now if I can just get it to run.  It ran fine last night, but I tried to start it today and it won't load.  It starts to load and goes to the screen that looks like the image on the center of the box.  It goes black then, which is normal, but it just stays black.  I tested it and it stayed black for 20 minutes.

Just got a Wii for Christmas and I notice that there are some games available that should have better graphics, such as Medal of Honor or Call of Duty.

I have the Wii hooked up to a HD TV with the AV cable that came with it.  It looks OK with the sport games that came with it, but not great at all for Blazing Angels.  Will I notice the difference if I

get component cables?
