I did a search for this but got nothing.

My son installed M:TW on his 6 month old dell with 19" ultrasharp LCD.  He's getting most of the screens, but when he goes to combat, the screen is black except for some of the buttons at the top and bottom.  In the black section where the battle screen is supposed to be, he can see a few lines being slowly drawn sometimes.

He got another brand new CD of M:TW and has the same problems.  

His computer can run a host of newer games just fine.  His newest is Call of Duty 2.

Any ideas?

I just had a thought - could this be bacause he is not at the native resolution resolution setting?  He told me he tried several resolution setings, but nothing worked.  I don't know if he tried the native resolution.

PS - he is at his own home, and we are trying to sort this out over the phone, so I can't see exactly what is happening.

I think he will want to add the 80 GB HDD for $20 or the 160 for $60.

How about the dual core processor? He can get a 2.8 Ghz for $100 more.

And is the 256 MB ATI X600 SE worth an extra $40?

How does this Small Business deal work? Does he qualify and can he get warranty support without problems?

I haven't seen feedback from him after I sent him one of the PIFFs he requested.  He also promised to send a PIFF to me.  PMs get no response.

I know he was sick about two months ago, but I hope he is better by now.

Go ahead and make a deal on whatever you want.  I changed my mind  on Doom 3.  After reconsidering, I don't have a strong interest in dispatching imps, etc.  I'll pass on LOTR, too - my backlog is HUGE.

As for CoD and the others I mentioned, I already have them - I was just trying for a possible combo so it wasn't a single game deal.

The titles I really want - Ground Control II and Splinter Cell: Pandora Dir. - were not listed, but I put in my dibs in case mirage forgot to put the "II" and the "Pandora Dir" on the end of the titles when he was typing that list.

Summing it up - I'll back out so the rest of you can make some deals and enjoy some great gaming, but I'll leave my original post so the thread still makes sense.

I'm interested in Doom 3.  Since you don't want to sell single games, we can find one or two more from the list.  Is Ground Control the original or is it GC II?  Same with Splinter cell - is it the original?  I have the originals of both, but I'm looking for the sequels. CoD or LOTR are two other possibilities if GC and SC are the originals.
