I've found some at Targets on Monday and Tuesdays around this time. It's worth a call to see if you can get them to hold one briefly.

I read on (I think Shacknews) that they were trying to create a completely destructible terrain and failing horribly for a long time. That was just part of it of course. That isn't to say that there weren't the engine changes and such we all know about also.

Woot I'm mentioned in a thread!

Well, in a positive way at least. Seriously, have fun with it and dying is sometimes a good thing. I can't think of a real reason not to just let it happen. You may have to begin at the start of an area occasionally. You picked the best stats to prioritize.

It opens and closes so you can put it on your wrist and be the hit at parties.  "What time is it?  Oh I don't know, LET ME SEE HERE!"
It's a realistic size, but it's only one size and wearing it is not recommended for a number of reasons smile

This is also not recommended--

2167  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Classic RPG updates - Planescape Torment, Fallout2, Arcanum on: June 06, 2008, 09:40:04 PM
I found this on the Arstechnica site. I hadn't seen the Arcanum one before and it sounds good. Links to updates for Planescape, Fallout2, and Arcanum. Restoration projects, expansions and bug fixes galore.

Making me want to reinstall Arcanum to try it out.

Bumpo for a good price.

Does this have HDMI?

I'd snag it but it sounds like my bro is going to send his Halo Ed one with me when I leave. Yay for me, bad for you I guess. I'd try it on Anandtech or the [H]ardforum. I imagine it would sell for more than $200 there easily. Good luck.

Zetterberg played so good on that 5-on-3 that he knocked out my power for over an hour. During the closing seconds of that power play my power flickered, and then died. I called my friend in a panic, but he blew out his ACL and just had surgery for it. He had just taken 3 percocet and was useless. I then called my dad, who tried to give me his best Mike Lang impression...it was uninspired.

2184  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Getting Past The Invulnerability/Too Much Money Problem in Game on: May 24, 2008, 06:47:35 PM
Just finished the 360 version here.

I agree that there were a few balancing issues with the game. Admittedly I did play it on easy as a soldier just so I could get the story. I did all the side quests I could explored every planet and area and maxed out at the level 50 a bit before the end. I will probably play it again as something else on a hard difficulty. On easy it was pretty much aim in the general direction and pull the trigger. I had maxed my money out long before the end and was well on my way to maxing the omnigel by the end.

I put ~70 hours into it so I got my cost ($16 used) out of it. Issues aside (balancing, inventory interface, other minor ones), I eagerly await news of ME2. I lubs me a good Bioware game and story and they did put a lot of effort into the background and flavor texting. I wish the items were labeled better though.

If stuff isn't coming up at the prices that others are finding make sure you scan the upc if you have the aisle scanners. Different stores drop prices at different times but it never hurts to double check as I've fond stuff that was cheaper than the latest tagging.

unfortunately, i have serious doubts that we'll ever see a release of the original cartoon.  it's been 10 years since the last episode of X-Men aired on Fox, and in that time there hasn't been a significant release on VHS or DVD.  the best that's ever seen light are a couple DVDs with select episodes, and even those are difficult to find now.  at this time, Disney apparently owns the show (along with other Marvel cartoons such as the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Incredible Hulk, Ironman, Silver Surfer, and Spiderman) and has no plans for a DVD release despite it being one of the most requested series.  Marvel has been using their recent success to try and buy back a lot of their properties and release them for fans, but Disney isn't budging so far...
Well Disney does have to have something worth a crap on thier shelf that they haven't tried to milk to death. Hopefully they don't have the option to do anything with the Marvel stuff.

I do believe that HL1 is better than HL2.  The whole black mesa setting is quite possibly the coolest video game setting ever.  Much more interesting to me than City 17.
Agreed. HL2 never really felt like a HL game. It is fun, but it seems a little out there compared to #1. And Ravenholm definitely does not fit with the HL universe. Sorry but no, HL is not a horror FPS. That part just stuck out as a big weak spot to me.
2194  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [Half-Life] Anyone think the game kinda sorta sucks? on: May 07, 2008, 08:00:12 PM
Man it hurts me to see so many people bagging on Half-Life. Of course it's not as good 10 years later as it was at it's release. It has been surpassed by more modern tech and styles. Seriously, what is to be expected after such a long time? Nearly anything looks/feels better after 10 years of improvements.

Barry Melrose deserves a major helping of crow as he picked the Avs to handle the RedWings easily.  Im sure he will fall back on the injury crutch to save face but regardless of that, you can not deny that the Wings dominated the Avs completely.
They look like a completely different team ever since they put Ozzie back in goal.  If they can sustain even close to this level of play, I cant see anyone beating them in a seven game series.  While im glad to see Detroit have an easy series with a nice rest break, I definately miss the intensity of the old Avs - Wings rivalry.  when that was at its peak it was the best hockey rivalry ever.  No holds barred, absolute hatred between the 2 and every game was a war.  Good times!
I remember watching him do the commentary back in '02. If he could of reached through the monitor to service Patrick Roy he would have. He had some kind of man crush on Roy and most of the Avs team. I haven't seen him since much, but I'm not suprised he's still the same way. What a wanker.

FPS:
Quake 4 for a solid if not over evolutionary game. Not too long and pretty much straight action. If you enjoyed #2 or it's expansions you will probably like it. FarCry was fun also but looong.

RPG:
Jade Empire was awesome on the Xbox. Set it on easy and play it for the story. I have it for the PC as well, but I haven't got the time for it again at the moment. Don't let the feeling of a somewhat on-a-rail experience ruin it. KotOR was fun as well if you like Star Wars of course. I put ~50hours into it when I played to do everything I could.

Future:
STALKER was awesome. Finished that recently. Patch it and have fun. Doom3/XP was fun, but I took a long time to play through both of them. Couldn't seem to get myself to have an extended play session in either for some reason. They are definitely worth a play through though.
