If it was PS3 exlcusive that could make sense given the restrictions MS places on their network. Blizzard supports their games for years with updates/patches and I believe Sony is far more loose with letting games be updated. Blizzard could feel thats to much of a pain to deal with.

This is simply a one stock bubble bursting. The Facebook IPO was hyped at level of the 2000's dotcom bust era. They upped the number of shares and the launch price right before the IPO. They got greedy and then the market said no thanks and put what they feel is the real current valuation on it.

I didn't really like last night's episode. Seemed to me that a lot of things happened way differently than I remember from the book and that a lot of things were really condensed.
Better get used to it, cause its going to be the norm.

Been a long time since a TV show has made an hour go by so fast. Just like reading the books, each time they jump to a different location its a new piece of awesomeness. Also watching this confirms that I can't watch TV with commercials anymore. Its channels like HBO, Netflix, or discs for me all the time now. Just like a movie I don't want anything breaking the watching experience.

I agree. You look at Aliens 3 and see the attempt at going back to the original with a horror theme. It feels tired, with a "been there done that" feeling. Cameron taking Aliens into the action realm was a great idea. The movie still holds up today.

I think True Blood has run its course anyways. It was a fun take on the Vampire genre, but I grew tired of it after season 3. It'll probably drag on for a couple more seasons.

Pretty sure if a team trades for Peyton they are still on the hook for the $28 million bonus he's due in March. That's the albatross around the Colts neck right now in dealing with him, unless Manning agrees to renegotiate, or even if they can before then.

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Direct2Drive being sold to Gamefly- Gamefly to offer PC games to subscribers.

just got this email about D2D moving: What do you need to do now?
Right now, it's business as usual; you can continue to pre-order and buy games just like you do today. We'll keep you informed and send you more details when everything is ready to go. In the meantime, your Direct2Drive account will work as it does now, and we will fully support new releases as usual.
At the beginning of next year, we'll migrate all Direct2Drive services to GameFly. We'll take care of everything for you - transferring your account and purchase history to GameFly so you can pick up right where you left off (you'll just need to reset your password for security). If you already have a GameFly account, we'll combine the two.
Important Information There are a couple things you can do now to ensure a smooth transition:
1. Download your favorite game purchases from Direct2Drive. We plan to have as many game files as possible available on GameFly. Just to be sure, please download your old game files before the transition.
2. Download all of your non-game files (like Prima Guides). These will not be available on GameFly after the transition.
Once transferred, you'll be able to access your account with one login across GameFly's entire suite of integrated services: The GameFly Client, Web site, and Mobile App. so not all games may be available? Just get the key code for any games, enter them into STEAM, and forget about D2D.

There's a severe shortsidedness to that perspective though:
Chris Paul is a Hornet for at most this season only. The NBA can't keep him there past his contract. The Hornets GM got what appears to be the greatest possible return for that asset and now, after one year, will get absolutely nothing. That will kill the team. No one is going to buy a team that will have literally no good players after one year. No chance.
I have no idea why the NBA did this. None whatsoever.
Yep this solves nothing. Stern caved in to the small market owners who see the big stars with too much power. In the end it won't change anything except the Hornets won't get anything when CP leaves as a free agent after the season.

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Halo - What am I missing?

The first halo was the worst. Horrible horrible level design. It's basically cookie cutter as far as rooms go. I've played all four because of the hype but it always fell flat. I think Reach was probably the I liked most, but that's not saying much.
You are over-remembering the Library level. Everyone is entitled to opinions of course, but generally speaking, it's pretty uncontroversial to say the first Halo was the best of the whole series, and Silent Cartographer is still pretty much the FPS level everyone wants to beat. I can't help but be biased, but Anniversary is a great intro to the series. It's the first game with a new coat of paint, and it's still a ton of fun. No he isn't. There are large sections of the game especially indoor parts that are literally copy and pasted sections to make the game longer in a easy cheap fashion.
