Not all games on Steam are cheap, and not all games have mods, nor do they all have "control choices" or "customizable graphics". Trust me, I know. I have 288 games at the moment

I'm guessing you have 288 STEAM games because you like many others have taken advantage of all the great sales. Which don't exist to nearly the same degree on consoles.

There's nothing "ahead of the curve" with the WiiU tablet controller. Its a blatant attempt to get in on the tablet/smartphone popularity of the last few years. IMO its another gimmick by Nintendo. They think they can hit lightning in a bottle again like they did with the Wii...not gonna happen.

I agree that Nintendo should have pulled out of the hardware market years ago, and focused on software for the next generation of consoles.  Nintendo's handheld market is very strong currently; but I can see that losing ground to smartphones in the coming years since there are far more smartphone users than Nintendo DS users.

This. They could could make huge bank getting MS and Sony to fight over their core franchises. MS paid what $50 million just for a timed exclusive for GTA DLC? Nintendo is about Mario an Zelda not goofy systems with poor motion controls or a cheap pseudo tablet experience.

I don't how bad this actually is for the system. Seems to me the core of Nintendo's systems have always been their own franchises lie Mario, Zelda, Metroid etc. That seems to me to be what most fans talk about anyways so if they can deliver on them I still see fans buying the system. Now getting to the huge more casual masses the first Wii got too I'd say that doesn't look likely with the WiiU. I see this generation being more like the Gamecube.

Its extreme but if you have the genetic marker for it then it scary how high the chance of getting cancer is so I can respect a person doing it. Its their life.

Again...so what. It was a demo...a preview of an unfinished game. There's is no guarantee that what is shown in some demo months or maybe years before release will ever happen. This is normal and you all know it, or you should. People keep saying that Gearbox knew they couldn't do this. othese people have some taped conversation of Randy literally saying this? No they show a E3 demo then say look at the final game. Its not the same thing man! Sue them! LOlz...

Yea that game is from 2007 so running sli might be a negative for this game due to incompatibilities. Not a sli user so I don't know if you can toggle it off to test.

I don't know how much backpedaling they could do on the stuff people have complained about(assuming its true). If the system has been designed to operate only with a network/Internet connection you can't just change that in a month or so. That's a fundamental part of how the hardware/OS in the console will work. That ship has sailed from a system design standpoint.

Agreed.  AMC appears to be much more penny-pinching than HBO, but that doesn't mean that GoT has a blank check.  Especially when, if HBO has a hit, they don't get to jack advertising rates up.  They have to rely on merch sales or renegotiated subscriber rates.

The penny pinching hasn't hurt Walking Dead's success. Its the most watched cable show on now.

HBO's subscriber fees are serious money, and the first 2 seasons disc sales of the series are the best HBO's ever had. Funny considering its also the most pirated show too.

Maybe the PS4 version will support higher player counts the pc version has. 24 just isn't quite enough when it comes to a Battlefield game.

Wouldn't be surprising that AMD would be more accommodating in a deal since they are in tough times against Intel so they need something positive. Plus Nvidia is committing allot to mobile with Tegra.

I think they make used games need a fee to play them. Taking the concept of the online MP pass some titles use now applied to the whole game to throw a bone to the publishers.

I loved the early Ultima games as a kid but this guy hasn't done squat in game design in over 20 years. I see no reason to believe he can deliver anything good. Its sounds harsh but I just smell another old game developer wanting to cash in on the kickstarter craze.

It's been mentioned many, many times that this is not the simple answer.  

BC is an issue for me.  A bigger issue for me is the way people continually boil the counter argument down to "It's not an issue for me, so it can't be an issue for you."

That's not at all what I'm saying. Show me the slightest evidence that having or not having BC helps or hurts al consoles overall success in the market. Whether its PlayStation, Xbox, or Wii. I say its a minor point at best when the console launches with there being a small number of games but within a year or so gets basically forgotten about by most. MS stopped doing its BC for the 360 after awhile and Sony took it out of the PS3. Its a feature checkmark box at best for the early part.

Not surprising. It always felt like a stunt when they had Kevin Levine walk out on stage last E3 to tease people. With the Vita struggling Vita Bioshock will join titles like the supposed Elder Scrolls game that was going be made for the PSP.

Same here, When I come from a PC game nowadays to PS3 or 360 the lower resolution they have to render vs true 1080p or higher I can do on a PC and the far higher res textures I can get is rather stark. I guess if the person only plays console they wouldn't notice it then I but sure do.

Every bullet point is something that's been done before. Frankly it sounds like take the Halo franchise bullet points, remove the name...NEW FRANCHISE! Plus its a 360/ps3 game that will ship after the next gen consoles come out?? ok...
