1  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Wheel of Time games will require you to curve your Balefire on: August 17, 2009, 01:58:33 PM
Oh man that game... I finished it, who knows how since my computer at the time managed around 14 fps... Unless the shit hit the fan then it really slowed down  icon_lol

Hope the future games are decent at least.
2  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: anyone else interested in The Conduit? (first review from IGN) on: June 23, 2009, 09:21:07 AM
Got to wait until 10 July but I am 99% getting it. Love the pointer in FPS on the Wii. Unless impressions and reviews turn drastically sour I am there.

Really liked this part:
Quote
... The Conduit makes good on its potential by enabling you the option to fully tweak your controls to your liking, setting horizontal and vertical sensitivity, dead zone, turn speed, running speed, HUD layout and transparency, and more. You can fiddle with the settings until you create the perfect control scheme for your preference, and all of your modifications will be seen in real-time as you play the title, which is a pretty amazing feat.
3  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What are you buying this week? (6/8) on: June 08, 2009, 12:44:40 PM
Grandslam Tennis and motion plus. Stupid that it is not a pack in but really looking forward to try motion plus out anyway.

Hope it delivers.
4  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Tired of reading same books over and over...need suggestions on: May 26, 2009, 12:06:12 PM
Have you tried J.V. Jones? I have not really read fantasy for a long time but I really liked her books when I did. Bakers boy is the first one if I recall correctly. She had some awesome characters in her books.

Edit*
What about Tad Williams? I read and liked The war of flowers not too many years ago.
5  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: King´s Bounty: The Legend => Demo available!! on: September 19, 2008, 08:07:45 AM
I have played the demo and I am looking forward to the release but there was one thing that drove me nuts.

The fear thing that can be inflicted way to easily on your troops. What the hell was that all about. Oh joy my troops are all afraid and I have to sit and watch them stand still or shoot each other and NEVER get the chance to do anything... That was not fun.
6  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What size TV do you play the Wii on? on: September 16, 2008, 09:20:15 AM
40 inch samsung fullHD. Looks good but am not the most picky viewer either. Feels great sizewise though since my last telly was 20 inch crt and that felt really small.
7  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What are you buying this week? (5/26) on: May 26, 2008, 12:44:28 PM
Kinda interested in Dracula: Origin. Feels a long time since I played an adventure game. No hype at all about the game though... Googled up a review and it got a 7/10... Maybe I'l flip a coin
8  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Official GTA4 impressions thread on: May 02, 2008, 08:36:56 AM
Had a pretty crazy second date with Michelle. Was going to pick her up and my car was pretty banged up but since you switched cars in the first date I did not bother to change car.
Well it turned out the game did not change cars and as we was driving down the street I must have banged into something because Michelle suddenly says "The car is on fire."

I do the gentlemanly thing and jump out of the car and run away. Michelle however is clever and follows me. I turn around just in time to see my car in a pileup explode. Very impressive explosion too it was. So we need a new car and I notice a a abandoned car a little ways infront of the burning car. I figure that will do and we get into that car.

Thats when other cars in the pileup explodes. Whoops, but we make it and drive off for a magician show. Michelle complains about there being lots of crooks in the audience. Nico tells her he would not know anything about that.  icon_biggrin
9  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Wii Fit - I am so weak on: April 28, 2008, 02:24:39 PM
I got it saturday. I am muscle sore like hell I have have to admit and I mostly did yoga! Never done yoga before so that probably explains it. The tree form was a bitch.

This is my asci representation of the treeform.

Kidding aside I mostly like it. The minigames are HARD! Took me a while to do some of them right though. For example in the soccer minigame I leaned mostly only my upper body at first and thought the game was slow as molasses in moving it's head. But I got the tip of the game that I should just change my lower body's weight on the board around and then it went alot better. Still hard though.

Wii Fit focuses alot on posture and with the board they have alot of information on that. So for example when you are doing a yoga stance you also get information about much you sway and such. It really helps you since you see how much you sway on screen.

All in all it's gonna take a while to evaluate this "game". Gonna keep at it and see how I like it after a week or so.
10  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune on: April 21, 2008, 08:51:19 AM
I loved how it made you feel like you was playing through a action movie. It was a great ride of a game.
11  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Trackmania Nations Forever...sans Starforce? on: April 17, 2008, 08:19:12 AM
The word on the internet is that there is no starforce.

*edit* in either version on steam. I mean not in the free download or the buying version is there any starforce.
12  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: PSN Store redesign unveiled...but no updates until then?? on: April 15, 2008, 08:21:33 AM
The speed has really improved. Thats the best feature in my mind. Seems the thumbpics take quite a while to load up but you can still click on them so that does not matter that much. Also I like that you can click circle to go back.

Great update! (But that sonic tennis game that came to us euros really suck  icon_lol)
13  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Audiosurf on: February 18, 2008, 03:58:47 PM
Yeah, strongly recomend this one. It has gotten me rummaging around for old music cd:s to take them on a test ride.  icon_biggrin

Mono is my favorite mode. Feels like your racing alongside the music. literary =P
14  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Devil May Cry 4 Demo on: February 01, 2008, 02:52:08 PM
So gameplay wise it is more less exaktly like 3? (Only one I have played)

My main problem with 3 was not knowing where to go in that damn tower... I stopped playing some time after beating that jumping clown boss. I liked the fighting but the wandering around got on my nerves.
15  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What is your GH/RB skill level? on: November 28, 2007, 10:43:42 AM
My first taste of guitarhero was on saturday with GH3 on PS3 at friends house. Sunday I felt the need to play this game more and monday I broke down and bought it for my Wii.
Played two nights and right now trying to beat Rock and Roll all night on medium. The transition from easy is shockingly hard.

But my motivation is high thanks too my buddy who is rapidly improving. I want to keep up but that ratfaced bastard;) of a friend plays the guitar so I consider myself at a handicap.

Find HO/OP very hard to do. Even when I try to do it I strum without thinking about it.

Really having a blast with the game though.
16  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2 on: November 23, 2007, 10:46:35 AM
Oh live. Yeah I was thinking of splitscreen coop. Yeah they should put in 4 player splitscreen coop in sequel. Online is nice but when you all are in the same couch...

You could co-op terrorist hunt with more than 2 players.

... What? Have you done this personally? We tried, god knows we tried. And failed. Did searches on the net and came up with people asking why it did not work.

So have you tested this and gotten it too work? Are we talking 360 or PS3 version? And if you did... HOW!
18  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Rainbow Six Vegas 2 on: November 22, 2007, 03:02:22 PM
Things that should be fixed/changed in sequel:

Respawning enemies. Either have them all out at the start of match in coop deathmatch against computer or set spawn point further away from player.
Actually having coop for more then 2 players like it says on the box...

Hmm... I think I have more nitpicks but they elude me at the moment.
19  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [Wii] Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 - Initial Impressions on: November 20, 2007, 01:19:12 PM
Nice writeup. Makes me want to pick it up and try it for myself but right now there are too many other games to play.

Galaxy, metroid, orange box and crysis for me personally. But later on this will probably be picked up. Hope this is not sent to die and the online is still there when I have more time to play.
20  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Crysis [Impression Thread] on: November 20, 2007, 12:48:56 PM
Really liking it sofar. Graphics are unreal sometimes. Looks great and runs well on my rig which makes me happy.
It's a hard game though! Died alot on normal but not so much lately. Learned to survive the big firefights better.

One thing though that I noticed reading through the manual which I did not discover ingame. Did you know that you aim better when using strength mode?!?
I had no idea and had armor on most of the time. Which is silly when sniping the enemy from a long way away.
21  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: System Sellers-what games convinced you to get a console or handheld? on: November 15, 2007, 11:51:41 AM
Only those I actually bought myself and was not given as a kid.

PS1: Final fantasy 7. Yes I am that much of a mainstream sheep... But everyone said it was going to be the biggest thing ever at the time! I liked it alot.

Gamecube: Wind waker and metroid prime. My computer had just broke and I was trying to decide between xbox, ps2 and the cube. Those games I just wanted so the cube it was! This decision did come too haunt me in the years to come though =) Many games missed but I did love my cube and had many good games for it.

PS2: Picked up a slim one and a half years back on the cheap. Was not so much one game but all the old cheap ps2 titles to find that made that decision. =)

Wii: Wii sports. I told you I am a mainstream sheep! Also Zelda made me preorder it. My first console that made me do that. Only thing that dissapoints me so far with the wii is being a PAL gamer and all the holdup on releasing the games I want. Fire emblem does not even have a date! It's horrible.
22  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Witcher on: November 07, 2007, 03:19:00 PM
I have gotten to chapter five and I am starting to get crashes... Exits out to windows. Only gotten three so far but have not gotten so far into the chapter either...

Still love the game but loading up the game again and getting paranoid about quicksaves is not fun...
23  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Most Anticipated Game for 2008? on: November 07, 2007, 03:15:05 PM
Fallout 3, man do I hope it's good.
24  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Witcher on: October 30, 2007, 03:30:25 PM
Well it is basically timing your clicks.

But there is also the matter of which stance to have. Strong, fast and crowd. Lets say you start with fast
but then you get a lot of enemies around you and you switch to crowd, etc. Also you want to keep you combostrings living when dispatching a enemy and moving on to the next.
Also you want to use magic from time to time. It sounds pretty basic but it gets pretty hectic when you are doing all this in real time. You can pause but I rarely do.
25  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Crysis SP Demo on: October 30, 2007, 03:08:03 PM
Great demo. Ran fine on high on my new rig. Love the "superpowers" and how fast it reloads on juice.

I noticed people were pretty quick to scarper when I threw a grenade.
So I started to throw them in pairs. With a delay to the second one. Result?
They backed off the first one but came back after it blew and got caught on the second one.

26  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Witcher on: October 30, 2007, 02:31:50 PM
Could not find Metroid so I picked this up instead last friday. Glad I did! This is a really good game.

Been playing it at normal and it has not been that easy. I have died more times then I can recall.

The only really bad thing thing is loading times. When you die several times in a row in a tough fight you get impatient waiting for it to load.

The loading when entering buildings/different areas is not as long but still pretty long.

Despite that it really is a good game. Good quests, nice graphics, good combat system, nice world immersion.

27  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [360] What are the Best Co-op Games? on: October 26, 2007, 09:00:23 AM
I am one of those who don't own a 360 but play coop with friends when visiting them.

Nothing new to add really but add my vote to Gear, Ghost 1/2, rainbow six.

I think we have played more rainbow six then all the rest combined. Hearing them scream after a well placed fire grenade  icon_twisted

29  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: You haven't played Beyond Good & Evil? Shame on you. on: October 16, 2007, 11:54:48 AM
Great game. One of few games that actually left me smiling when I finished it. It felt so complete and fullfilling. Maybe it is time for a replay... But there are many other games waiting to be played.

I heard that Ancel is working on a mystery project... A sequel perhaps? One can hope anyway
30  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: COD4 demo is out. on: October 12, 2007, 08:30:16 AM
Only had time for five minutes before work but I liked what I saw.

Looks great on my new rig. I really like the fire effects. Gameplay feels good but hard to say with only a few minutes of gameplay.

Going to be a long day at work today. Weekend and COD4 demo waiting  drool
31  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Guitar Hero III... for the PC!! on: September 13, 2007, 12:05:46 PM
Thats great news. I disagree about the milking picture.

My consoleless brother is always whining about me not buying guitar hero for my ps2. (the game does not appeal to me)
He has a computer though and this would be a great christmasgift to him. Or telling him it exists and he can buy it for his own money if he wants it so bad  finger

But will get unreal tournament aswell ofcourse =)
33  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [Wii] Gamespot Awards Mercury Meltdown a 8.5 on: June 28, 2007, 10:57:48 AM
It's out in europe and I have had alot of fun with it sofar. I have not played the ps2 or psp version so I can not compare them though.
The controls are really great. It feels so natural to shift around the remote. Sofar I have completed 20 levels or so. It really is a great puzzle game.

I do not like the cameracontrol though. You use the dpad to shift around a certain amount of degrees.(can't recall the amount though... 45 maybe?) However that may be since I am not used to having to shift the camera in the game. Only done it on one level sofar. Which may show how minor the point really is really.

Good game  nod

And I don't mean Zelda.  (rimshot)

Actually, speaking of Zelda, does anyone know how similar the [Revolution] and GCN versions going to be?  I've held on to a 'Cube for a year now waiting on Twilight Princess, but if it's going to be watered down compared to the other version...

As I understand it they are going to be more or less the same gameplaywise. They are going to pump up the graphics and change the way it is controlled but thats it I think.
35  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / I need help with Zelda: The Wind Waker on: April 14, 2006, 10:05:47 PM
Ok, I just came home and is pretty stinking drunk so forgive my incorherent rambling if any.

After you crash all the lights are you not supposed to go dwon on waterlevel outside the BIG door and have a miniboss fight or something? It was a long time ago I played windwaker but...

I agree tthat the getting all the pieces part of the game was a bit too much but still it was a great game and after that part it got great again. Loved the game, can't wait for the next one.

Actually I think I recall having the same problem a few years back and that the only tip I got was to play with software. Maybe they have a better solution now but I doubt it...
37  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Unofficial Oblivion Help thread. on: March 25, 2006, 07:26:35 AM
Just stalk his house. The second guy gets out kind of late I think. What I did was to quicksave, wait a hour, wait a hour, wait a hour, etc.

Sooner or later he walk out of his house. I think I failed that quest though... probably since my sneaking skills suck.
38  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / PS3 - Officially Delayed Until November in Japan on: March 15, 2006, 06:31:48 PM
Quote from: "DrJones"
Even if Sony releases the PS3 in Novemeber, it sounds like there will be supply problems just like Xbox 360 launch.  Even if demand is extremely high for the PS3, people wont be able to get it.  So what do people do?  They buy the widely available Xbox360 that is sitting right next to the empty PS3 shelf.  Microsoft could care less if Sony release before or after Christmas.  Either way they make a fortune.

Don't forget about the Revolution. Should be out around the same time as PS3 in the USA and Japan. However one big advantage to Xbox360 is that it will have already been out a year by then and will have quite alot of titles compared to Revs and PS3:s launch titles.
