Okay... this is the first thing that has made me want a PS4.

Maybe it will have a vita version.

Destiny! Have to be higher level than Kato!
3  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Elminage Gothic on: September 13, 2014, 02:44:11 AM
Liked the look of the game, and 8 dollars isn't too bad so I pre-ordered.

Going XB1 for Destiny because of peer pressure

Cool! Haven't had a chance to play any games with you for a while.

I'm kind of glad that the game isn't up yet digitally.

Otherwise I would have to have a sudden illness or family emergency.

Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate (we need more words in this title), D3, EDF portable.

Probably some other game that I haven't even heard of yet based on previous weekends.

Dear Soulchilde,

Please avoid dying and sending a Nemesis at Kato and I.

Thank you.

I'm loving the X52 so far. A lot of reviews up in the net for this product have stated that sometimes their X52 arrived broken or not working as intended. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones because everything works great so far.
First impressions is the I'm overwhelmed. I can pretty much map everything on this joystick in Elite.
Here is a quick breakdown on the layout of the x52
http://www.saitek.com/manuals/x52_manual.pdf

While the joystick isn't that heavy, it came with rubber suction cups to install on the joystick and throttle to keep the x52 from moving all over the place.

The only other Hotas setup I had was an old thrust master I used to own a few years ago and the x52 definitely measures up

Will post more later, need more time playing smile

Look Kato, I just bought a Thrustmaster 16000m. Don't go talking me into a hotas.

too much money at Gencon I'm sure

Instead of going all the way Gencon you can probably just go to any nearby bank and buy money at a pretty standard 1:1 rate.

Did you just call him Gencon?

This. mostly on the Battletech Pods I expect.

If you see a pilot named Ted Baxter getting repeatedly slaughtered by his own hands, that will be me.

Kato and Hark and I will no doubt be playing a fair bit. Look for: Kato, Jarrodhk, Harkonis.  I know I know... we are very original smile

Planning to try out my new joystick playing Elite Dangerous.  Probably some Star Trek Online and BF4 as well.

The Red Solstice - PC
Star Conflict - PC
Probably some Dawn of War 2 campaign

Tell us how Red Solstice is please.  I've heard good things, but I'd rather get it from somebody I trust.  smile

It is buggy, but very fun!

I hated terrorist hunt, it was a great concept, but the insta-pop behind you in a dead end you already cleared was bullshit.

Game looks like it has potential and R6 was where I met Kato so I'll have to kill him there again.

Can't wait to play this with the old and new gang. But whatever sidearm Hark will use will need an immediate nerf.
Also I like that this game SEEMS to encourage actual stacking and room clearing tactics.

You'll like it until the third time you get shot in the back.

 ninja

What? Why are you looking at me like that?

I really really miss the co-op from GRAW (first one mostly, although the second was pretty fun as well). Those missions were a blast.

Not to mention I will never forget the moment we learned that yes, you can in fact shoot the dust off chopper. And yes, it will lose us the mission even after finishing the objective.

<group standing around in the extraction zone> wonder if you can shoot the chopper? <gunfire ensues, chopper goes down in flames, lots of laughter and accusations fly>

Played a little of Dragon's Crown, okay game, but not for me. I'll send it back to gamefly and see what else catches my attention.

On the other hand Disgaea 3 has the same hold on me that the first two games did.
18  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 5/16/14 on: May 16, 2014, 11:27:41 PM
Disgaea 3, Dragon's Crown, Titanfall.

Fired up WarThunder for a for a few tutorials with my new Rhino.  The learning curve, mapping, and switching games is going to require some mental effort.

I should play some War Thunder again soon. I love that game. Mainly waiting for the ground forces to hit open beta.

BF4 XB1, Disgaea 3 Vita, some BL2 Vita, but copied it off to try things I haven't played yet.
21  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 5/2/14 on: May 02, 2014, 12:41:26 PM

This is my first real foray into the DS games.  I just spent an hour and 22 deaths just trying to unsuccessfully get past the very first enemy in the game.

Thinking I may have just flushed $40 down the crapper...

If this is a giant one-eyed enemy.... keep going, you don't have to fight him/them. And really shouldn't yet.

The first opponents you fight after choosing your starting looks/etc are very slow, do little damage, and take 2 or 3 hits to kill.

The Last Federation, Dark Souls 2 PC, Warframe, BF4 Naval Strike, Titanfall are all possibilities.

Definitely will play a lot of Dark Souls 2 regardless.

How is this?  I noticed you had a fair amount of time with it and it looks interesting.

The Last Federation is very fun. Has some aspects that are a little rough, but, Arcen is very good about continuing support.

They have already addressed several major things that have improved the game in the first week of release. They are (or did today) add auto-resolve for tactical combat.

Has a Drox feel in that you are in a 4x universe with things going on all the time that you can influence in various ways.

Been playing a lot of Warframe again. Each big update they make a ton of changes, having a blast as a space ninja again.

Going to try and pull away from Warframe and get some Titanfall and BF4 XB1 time in this weekend.  Although Defiance just released another DLC that I want to try out as well.

EDF2025, PvZ, D3... some combination of the above and anything else that grabs my attention.

I am finding the game fun, but, it doesn't draw me the same way that EDF does.

Also Diablo 3 with the new loot patch has been grabbing a lot of my time.

Downloading this to play when I get home from work.

Fully expecting that Hark and Kato will have mastered the game by then.

no Dark Souls 2 then?  Bummer

Options are being weighed.

Glad that I was able to play the game earlier this year when my internet wasn't experiencing 30-40% packet loss on uploads. That said, the game is great fun when I'm not suffering errors from network issues.

38  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Miss Chromehounds? M.A.V could be the answer. on: February 10, 2014, 01:36:23 AM
M.A.V is heavily inspired by Chromehounds. Pretty much sounds like the developer wants to do everything Chromehounds did, along with a singleplayer campaign.

Of course it is a single developer... so there is that.

Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1509489292/mav-modular-assault-vehicle This is for an artist so the dev can focus on coding.

Greenlight:  http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=213963346

Youtube video:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W00hP8NRAXE&feature=youtu.be

I am hopeful that this is as awesome as it looks and sounds. I really miss Chromehounds.
