Didn't play Godfather (it's on the backlog pile).  I always seem to burn out on and never finish a GTA game.   Same for Crackdown, it was fun for a while but for some reason I got bored.  Mafia was great, but I don't really consider it an open world game (I don't recall there being that much to do outside the main storyline).

That said Saint's Row and Saint's Row 2 for some reason really clicked with me.   I played both to the end and had a blast doing so.  I loved SR1.   SR2 improved on the first and took it to another level.  Really for me, nothing else comes close.

I was looking at buying a 42" Sharp Aquos 1080p LCD TV. I just noticed, however, that it doesn't have a VGA input. Would I still be able to play my Xbox 360 in 1080p?

Unless it supports 1080p over component (very rare), then, no, you will not be able to play in 1080p without VGA.

Well, fuck.

Any chance the 360 is going to allow for 1080p via HDMI? If not, maybe I should start looking at LCD TVs with a VGA input. I think the Samsung models have them.

I wouldn't be so sure about the sharp.  I have the 37" aquos that does in fact support 1080p over component.  The sad thing is for some reason 1080p over the VGA (DVI really) is borked.

I'm in.   I will hopefully be on in an hour or two (damn wife is watching the TV!)

Canadian folks, I picked up my copy an hour ago at EB in toronto, although they only had enough to fill pre-orders.   BB and FS aren't usually too far off on new releases, so they should have copies available tomorrow (if they don't have them out already that is)

Oh, JR1972 is my tag.  Feel free to friendify me.

I'll warn you in advance I'm not going to be much help to you.  However, the reason I'm replying is I too have been looking to get something to hook up my xbox to a moniter.  Checking out various reviews and such, I think I am going to get the VDigi Electronics Enhanced VD-Z3.  It comes with a built in switch, but I doubt you'd want a whole new VGA transcoder just for the switch.  Anyone have any experience with this product?
