Glad you got it working. I know they have found some issues they were working on, and SDC got an update that should resolve any problems there. Well keep enjoying at least.

Yeah, the demand has been great so the servers were being hammered. A download manager would be advisable or you could also try using Stardock Central to download.
If there's a specific issue coming up though, let me know so I can pass it along.

Still haven't picked this up yet, but GameStop has a flash sale tomorrow for 66% off. Not sure if it can be activated via Steam.

Info for the 0-day update: We’re hoping those of you who got the early edition of the game are having a good time with it. We’re on the chat channel (you can get to it in game by hitting Shift-Tab).
Some modders have already submitted some really cool maps which you can get to by hitting Shift-Tab and clicking on Mods.
We have a pretty big list of new things for the day 0 version over what was in the “gold” version that some people got and the pre-day 0 that we put out last night for those who pre-ordered and the beta group.
So here’s what to expect:
Lots of new Seed maps Fixes for some crash issues that have been reported There is an Alt-Tab crash issue on ATI cards that we have a call in to AMD about (the game uses a particular driver feature that is having an ugly side effect). If you can, run the game in a window (if you run it at the same resolution as your desktop, it effectively is the same as full screen). Lots of little polish things being fixed, particular in tactical battles with regards to camera control and such. Some various balancing tweaks here and there.

Beta 3C goodies: http://forums.elementalgame.com/388539* Gameplay *
+ Settlements have a Maintenance cost. 0 for the first, 1 for the second, 2 for the third, and on.
+ Significant strategic AI changes
+ We no longer require technology pre-reqs to builds on resources (if you find one, it’s a bug and you should let us know)
+ Attacking a city now automatically brings up a tactical battle, as long as either the attacker or defender.
- New system for determining the cost of a tactical action.
- Tactical moves should take 2 actions, everything else should take 1.
+ Units in tactical battles now counter attack when attacked with melee attacks. Countering costs action points. See next point;
+ Units in tactical battles now have their action points refunded every time initiative switches, AKA when mode switches from attacker to defender turn, or from defender to attacker turn.
+ Units in tactical battles can no longer move after attacking, (this effectively separates each unit’s move phase into moving and then attacking, or just attacking). Casting spells is unaffected, you may always cast spells.
+ Groups of units now have their hitpoints, attack strength and defense properly increased.

One thing Brad has mentioned several times is that the build that internal testers play is farther along than what is released to those who have pre-ordered. So we really have no idea what shape the game is in.
I think it's in pretty good shape, but that's just me.

So amazingly excited for Elemental, though I have to admit the Demigod issues have tainted my excitement a bit.
Elemental is centered on the single player experience, although, MP will be included.

First 'Countdown to Beta Zero' is up. The dev's are putting together a journal with details about Elemental. http://boogiebac.impulsedriven.net/article/352520/Countdown_to_Beta_Zero_-_Spells_Spells_and_more_SpellsAfter seeing the amazing starships made by players (and reviewers) in GC2's ship designer, we decided fairly early to make customization a huge part of the Elemental experience. And while this has resulted in a longer tool-development period than GC2, the current results with those tools have been really exciting.
Case in point: our new Particle Engine (and coorisponding in-game Particle Editor). Obviously, since we're making a fantasy game, we would need some fantastic spells spell effects to get players excited. Besides spells, every weapon swung, item used, dungeon cleared, and acheivement acheived would require it's own special effect. To acheve this we (Ross and Paul) created the Particle Editor, a mighty in-game workshop for the artists (and players) to create effects with.

how many updates can this game get. I had two yesterday. It seems there's at least 1 to two updates a week.
That is the good thing with Impulse as we can push updates when needed. The updates are being pushed to help solve any connectivity issues some are still having, along with some other fixes.

They are currently working on it right now, hoping to get it out soon. Make sure you have 'pre-release' checked in the Impulse preferences to get this update.
