I would say that without knowing the state he was in and the governmental level of the prison, any info would be rampant speculation.  It it was a federal/state prison, I would imagine that the local charges above are going to be the least of his worries in the near future.

Also, it sounds like the marijuana charge is the least of them.  It's the other pills that are going to be the big issue.  I would expect the prior to factor in heavily when it comes to bail, the willingness of the DA to deal, and the sentencing.

It's a possibility vs. probability argument.  Fire up Madden and try to run Westbrook against a full punt rush.  Even the FG coverage leaves a man or more back to account for other things.

The idea that you can be 100% successful is completely off base.  Run 100% of the time and there's 8 men in the box with three backs covering the outside.  Pass 100% of the time and you're only getting three rushers while you have 8 people covering your 5 receivers.

The trick is to get more coverage to think you're doing the opposite.

PHI - NYG - Fly, Eagles, Fly

ARI - CAR - Panthers maul the Redbirds.

Reminds me of my iPhone purchase, but in a different way.  I had to go through the store and order it from them and wait rather than picking it up at an Apple store due to an account relocation. After going to the store at 7 p.m. on a week night, I was left to cool my heels for a full hour before the one guy capable of performing the activation was available.  When I walked in, I had picked up $60 of accessories to purchase.  As time went by, I started putting them back.  When they finally got to me, I asked point blank for a free accessory for my trouble and was told "we don't do that."  When he got to the point in his spiel where he asked me if I wanted any accessories to go with it, I told him directly, "After an hour, I'll get them somewhere else."  He was apologetic and didn't attempt to press me on the issue.  He knew that he had lost a sale and a good commission off those accessories due to my wait.

Speaking of Jewell... is she acting or is she really disabled in some way?  If that's acting, she's amazing.  If she's really disabled... that just as amazing.

Geri Jewell is an actor and comedian born with cerebral palsy.  She is most famous for her roles on the television program The Facts of Life and on HBO's Deadwood.

The idea behind blackouts is to force people to buy tickets to the game.  Until Philly plays AZ in Phoenix and it doesn't sell out, you should be fine.

It includes satellite, cable and over-the-air systems, so nobody in the area could watch the game unless they're in attendance at the Metrodome.

Watched it this afternoon.  It's down to one showing at the mall AMC theater.  Which means it should be headed for optical disc-ing quickly.  I enjoyed it.  It wasn't anything spectacular to write home about, but I enjoyed it.
8508  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Are you a theater goer? on: January 02, 2009, 02:14:35 AM
Just got back from the theater for QoS before it leaves for the optical disc-ery.  Got there 20 minutes early, got a seat on the rail (no one in front of me for an accidental kick).  The only thing that was memorable about the non-film experience was that the first half of a part of 4 split around me when they arrived.  I found it odd when one of them stayed to my left, and the other crossed to my right.  The women folk arrived during the previews, when one of them asked if I would move down.  I countered that I had my seat due to the rail in front of me, and she let it go.  Moving down would have put me in seat-kicking territory.  I do my best, but am usually good for one accidental tap.  I usually apologize when I do it, but again, that's why I took my seat at the rail.

My story's tame, but I'm sure you folks have some real winners.

As I finish out my day/year here at work, I'm doing research on Wikipedia on the proper formatting of postal codes for addressing reasons.  The issue started with the page breaking the Canadian postal code across two lines due to the space in the middle.  A sample from my notes:

Postal code wrapped between two lines.  Issue has been corrected by the replacement of any space characters in 4th character position with a non-breaking space.  A review of other country postal codes while not exhaustive, suggests Czech Republic, Ireland (pending), Slovakia, Sweden comply with the fourth character as a space formatting.  Morocco contains a space in the third character when properly formatted.  The United Kingdom has dynamic spacing which may appear in the third, fourth or fifth position.  These possible issues have been added to the fix.

So what other odd work tasks have you come across that they didn't print in the brochure or your textbooks?

8514  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Viacom to Time Warner: Happy New Y....... on: December 31, 2008, 09:24:25 PM
So the current system is like welfare for cable channels and does not reflect a capitalist society where the free market decides what is available?  I'm fine with them going away.  Specialty channels will still exist as conglomerates like Viacom can leverage the cash cow funds to fund the startup channel while they find their demographic and footing.  Independents can go through a start-up phase just like other new independent media outlets and other companies, finding investment capital up front to fund them until they can make a profit.

Just because the package deals are the status quo doesn't mean that it's the only or best way.  "Because the status is not quo."
8515  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Viacom to Time Warner: Happy New Y....... on: December 31, 2008, 08:56:42 PM

Viacom Inc and Time Warner Cable were at a standoff on Wednesday, but hoped that top executives would step in to resolve a dispute that threatens to prevent more than 13 million U.S. subscribers from seeing shows like "Dora the Explorer" and Jon Stewart's "The Daily Show".
At issue is an extra $35 million to $40 million that Viacom wants Time Warner to pay for carrying its cable channels, including MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon.  Time Warner has refused, saying the economic climate makes it impossible to pass along such costs to its customers. Viacom has denied Time Warner's request for an extension of the current terms.  Instead, Viacom threatened to pull its TV networks from Time Warner at midnight on January 1 unless a deal was reached.

Viacom is, of course, taking the high road...

"Why is Dora crying?" read an advertisement Viacom placed in The New York Times. "Time Warner is taking Dora off the air tonight! Along with 19 of your favorite channels."
Viacom is arguing that it deserves more money because viewers spend more than 20 percent of their time with its networks, but its fees amount to less than 2.5 percent of Time Warner's revenues from customers.

Can we just move to an a la carte system and be done with this nonsense?

During and right after college we were going probably about 5 times a month. Student discounts rock

Now that I live in a large city, I will go out of my way to avoid giving money to Cinemark.  In my last city, they didn't have any sort of discount, they came in with the first mass multiplex (12, later 16), built a stadium seating 17, and ran every other provider in town out of business.  Once they had a monopoly, they proceeded to remove all of the DTS sound systems from their theaters, since they no longer needed to "waste" them on a market where there was no longer any competition.  mad  It was like a Cuban revolution where we were all prepped for the dawning of a new era, and the new boss's shine wore off pretty quickly once they had consolidated power.

Actually, based on my DFW stomping grounds, I would have to go out of my way to patronize them.  My only gripe is that they own the IMAX theater here.

And with that diatribe, I hit 1000 posts...
