Maybe we need to find a better way of generating energy that's slightly more advanced than my tea kettle.  Even nuclear energy comes down to boiling water to create steam to turn a wheel.

Quote
This is the rocking horse presented to Her Majesty the Queen on May 12th, 2005, a replica of her prized mare Tinkerbell that Queen Elizabeth favored when galloping across the lush grounds of Windsor Great Park. Faithful to all outward details, including Tinkerbell's markings, mane, and blue, red, and gold embroidered saddle cloth that bears the EIIR cipher and crown, this heirloom-quality rocking horse is one of only 100 in existence and is hand-carved by the world renowned Stevenson Brothers of Bethersden, England (to commemorate the completion of their 5,000th horse), whose family has made traditional rocking horses for over 60 years. The 5' long horse is mounted on a coach spring suspension system that provides bounce and extends the "st ride" to more closely resemble a mare's gait, instead of simply rocking back and forth. The mane and tail are made from real English horsehair and the dapple brown and white exterior is handpainted for the finest attention to detail. Handmade from durable English oak, the rocking horse is carved to show musculature and is constructed using the Victorian method of mortise and tenon that ensures a sturdier connection between joints than the common dowel and peg style that can weaken after years of riding. The horse is tacked in brown, tanned English cowhide leather and fitted with a royal blue saddle blanket that is hand embroidered by Hand & Lock of London, the oldest heraldic embroiderers in the world. An oak safety stand supports the rocki ng horse and is fitted with a hallmarked brass plaque with the maker's name, date of completion, and number. Ages 4 and up. Supports up to 280 lbs. The manufacturer has confirmed that this item meets U.S. Federal toy safety standards for lead. Supports up to 280 lbs. 50" H x 22" W x 60" L. (137 lbs.)

Finally!  A rocking horse that is made well enough for my large frame!

If you can not get a decent resolution by phone, send a letter to the correspondence address on your bill and add the line "Office of the President."  There will be an executive complaint department.  If you have repeatedly asked and given them the opportunity to resolve the issue and they have failed, they should be reasonable to your request.  If for some reason that fails, the next step is to forward all of your correspondence sent and received on to the FCC, BBB, and your state attorney general.

I worked for Customer Care for a different provider for three years and this kind of thing would get attention quickly, not only an in-depth review of every person who touched your account to see if they handled it properly.  If you are willing to negotiate, offer to compromise on a prorated ETF.  That was my stock in trade as a CC manager.

I love "Brand New Day" at the end of Ep. 2.  Also, it sounds like some other music that I've heard.  There's some people on here with much better musical ears than mine, I'm sure.  Can someone tell me what song(s) I might be associating with it?  The strongest hit for me comes on the lyric when he's at the dartboard.

Oh, and from doctorhorrible.net:

Scientific American, January 2007, p.46:

Quote
The first problem is that a standard barrel (42 gallons) of ethanol is worth about 28 gallons of gasoline because it contains 80,000 British thermal units (Btu) of energy, versus about 119,000 for unleaded regular  If you fill your tank with E85, you will run dry about 33% sooner.  Even if a gallon of ethanol were cheaper at the pump, drivers would have to buy many more gallons to go the same distance.
...

Producing  a gallon of ethanol, with its 80,000 Btu of energy currently requires about 36,000 Btu of natural gas.

As for the music, he mentioned specifically when he stopped that he had been ripping them off.  Not much you can do about fair use in that context.  The songs weren't the targets of the parody, so I doubt he'd have a leg to stand on when the Aussie version of the RIAA came calling.

As for the ads, you can place the blame for that squarely on the site that he works for.  I'd much rather the ads be on the back side of the video so I can kill it and go do something else than have to wait through them before I get to watch the video.

As with all things, there are always those where first = best.  I'll take the new, different versions over not having it all.

Nuts - I just bought a 40" Sony about a month back.  I wonder if the B&M store will work with me on the new prices...

Best bet is to review the return/price match policies.  Most places will give you a refund w/i a certain time if the price drops.  For the iPhone drops, it was 30 days, which was generous, although not enough for anyone that bought it at launch.

I just got back from the Dallas game and that was the most aggravated that I have been in a long time..  mad  Dallas played like absolute crap.  Passing was horrible, stick handling was lousy, shots being fanned on left and right.  This marks the second time in the series that Turco has been scored on because of a stupid turnover.

I have no doubt that Dallas will win the series, but they like playing the Cardiac Kids and coming back in the third period too much for my liking.  I don't see them getting past Detroit unless they turn their early playing around.

(Dallas - San Jose)

Man. the commentary on the MyNetworkTV sucks.  Let's not tell the fans about the offsetting roughing minors, let's not mention the pulled goalie until it's obvious.  I have to put up with it again on Tuesday for Game 3, will be at Game 4 to miss the FSN coverage.  I won't have to put up with them again until Game 7 at the least (if necessary) or the next series.

Dallas was very up and down and I don't know that they played well enough to win a large number of games that way, but it's the W that counts.

Start with the original series and watch all that one.

Start with the original series and watch one episode.  That'll be enough to make you cringe in horror.  Might I recommend one with the kid and the robot dog?  Yeah.  That'd be a good place to start.

Then watch the new miniseries and the rest of the new show.  And be amazed at the improvement in sci-fi since the 70's.

I'll be the first to admit that the robot dog was ridiculous but you can't find anything good about the original series?  Seriously?

Martin may be best known for his Song of Ice and Fire epic fantasy, but this mammoth collection of short stories (the first of two volumes) highlights his work in numerous genres, including SF, horror and fantasy.

Also, for the existing fans, Amazon has Book 5, A Dance with Dragons, listed for September 30.

Yeah, but there was a LOT of pent up frustration in that series.  I am honestly surprised that there wasn't a fight before it was all over.

These guys think you should wait:

http://www.mercurynews.com/apple/ci_8676009

They don't discuss the PS3 option, but in general, waiting until the fall will mean cheaper and more movies.  Meanwhile, you can get an upconverter pretty cheap to get by on.  Just a thought.

Cheaper I get.  How does waiting affect "more movies"?

Also, this summer will mark the re-release of the 80GB backward compatible PS3 bundle with Metal Gear Solid 4.  If they hadn't pulled the 80 GB versions late last year with no announcement, I would already own one instead of my 360, which I do like when it's not giving me an LED light show.

If you have any PS2 gear, wait for the summer PS3 release.  That's what I'm doing.

I have to weigh in and say that I watched Dallas dominate in Game 2 just like they did back when they were division leaders.  Anaheim doesn't look like they know what they are doing and may not make it back for another game at home.  Although if for some reason, there's a game needed on 4/20, I will be there helping with the blackout.
