For now, I'm fine with straight picks. It'll give me practice to go lose my money next year.

If I can make a good run for the rest of the season, I'll definitely have to look into playing Zaxxon's tourney next year.

In response to our request for comment Thompson sent Kotaku a copy of an emergency motion he filed with the court, this despite the ruling which states that only another attorney in good standing with the Florida Bar could file a motion for rehearing on Thompson's behalf.
In the motion Thompson outlines what he hints at as a perversion of justice, one that won't allow him, for instance, to meet with a potential client who he says is an inmate in a state prison.
Thompson also sent over a press release saying that the disbarment is in retaliation for, among other things, Thompson's Tyndale House book Out of Harm's Way which he says blew the whistle on what he describes as the Florida Supreme Court's attack on his activism against the American entertainment industry. He's going to wind up in jail before this is done (if it's ever done).

Game Politics is leading the Happy Dance charge. they're a pretty good read. Noting that "The Court concludes that the facts, as even more extensively detailed in the referee's report, support the referee's numerous recommendations as to guilt," the justiecs of the Florida Supreme Court affirmed Thompson's offenses as delineated by Judge Tunis:
[Thompson] made false statements of material factto courts and repeatedly violated a court order [Thompson] communicated the subject of representation directly with clients of opposing counsel [Thompson] engaged in prohibited ex parte communications [Thompson] publicized and sent hundreds of pages of vitriolic and disparaging missives, letters, faxes, and press releases, to the affected individuals [Thompson] targeted an individual who was not involved with respondent in any way, merely due to "the position [the individual] holds in state and national politics;" [Thompson]falsely, recklessly, and publicly accused a judge as being amenable to the "fixing" of cases [Thompson] sent courts inappropriate and offensive sexual materials [Thompson] falsely and publicly accused various attorneys and their clients of engaging in a conspiracy/enterprise involving "the criminal distribution of sexual materials to minors" and attempted to get prosecuting authorities to charge these attorneys and their clients for racketeering and extortion [Thompson] harassed the former client of an attorney in an effort to get the client to use its influence to persuade the attorney to withdraw a defamation suit filed by the attorney against respondent [Thompson] retaliated against attorneys who filed Bar complaints against him for his unethical conduct by asserting to their clients, government officials, politicians, the media, female lawyers in their law firm, employees, personal friends, acquaintances, and their wives, that the attorneys were criminal pornographers who objectify women.
The Court also upheld a fine of $43,675 against Thompson.

The answer is never. They have never come back into style. It's just a select few douche bags who insist on wearing them up who keep it alive. It's a lot like Mullets. They were never in style, yet you can still see this abortion of a hair cut in the wild from time to time.
I went down to Montgomery, AL on business a few months ago and got to see a mullet in the wild. I think they're on the protected species list. Every popped collar I have been exposed to has been very steeped in irony.

hmm...i am one of the medical people around here, so i guess i'll throw my opinion in the ring...
Do you wear the Decepticon badge around your patients? 'Cause that would certainly give my the idea to ask for a different (whatever medical thing you are). hmm...maybe i should work that into my badge somewhere just to see how many people notice lots of people have stickers or photos of their kids on their ID...adding a little sticker wouldn't be a problem... for what it's worth, i'm an anesthesiologist...not a surgeon, but i spend my working life watching them work What was the old line? You charge $1 to turn the gas on and the rest of your fee is to remember to turn it off?

I submit that it's harder being subjected to a Tantalus-like torment on a regular basis than having to perform a self-inflicted Prometheus every year.
Receiver Roscoe Parrish will miss four to six weeks after having surgery to repair ligament damage in his right thumb, leaving the Buffalo Bills without their fastest and one of their most elusive threats. -SI.com Has it begun? Buck up! That just means that we can get Steve Johnson acclimated that much sooner! Parrish was providing 20 yards per game. He's not the lynchpin.

A tisket, a tasket, throw it to Baskett!
Yeah, I don't have any Super Bowl plans to be watching Buffalo, but I'll certainly enjoy watching us cruise through the NFC West and Miami. I'll take a 4-2 division record (worthless games that they are). A winning record is a must after two 7-9 seasons. And this year, that should be enough in the AFC East.

Bills should blast the rams. BLAST I say.
Man you really don't want to jinx yourself. I already survived the elimination week three by making Buffalo my homer pick. Buffalo will go into the bye week (6) at 5-0.

Since the game was in Dallas, there was no way anybody would have paid attention to someone raising a ruckus except to have security eject you. And, because I'm a Buffalo fan, the entire NFC East can suck it! (Giants, Redskins, Cowboys *2) Strike that, where's Pete? Go Eagles!

Bills/Sabres fan... either you enjoy pain and suffering or there is some reason you are not sharing.
Simply put, the sabres have digressed every off-season for the last 3 or 4 years because management is horrible with the players. It's a fairly popular theory (I cant say from personal experience, but a few friends know sabres and it's been mentioned) the sabres management treats their players poorly and that's why they want to get the hell out of dodge.
You speak of No Goal, Music City miracle and Wide right like a true buffalonian...
You must explain your understanding of being a buffalo fan, and yet never really having been here.
I grew up in Las Vegas, a town that has absolutely no ownership of any major sports franchise. As such, you start rooting for who you like to watch. I grew up watching Jim Kelly, Bruce Smith, Thurman Thomas, and Andre Reed. After I moved to Texas, I took my lumps over their Super Bowl losses. Once I started watching hockey, Buffalo had a good, dynamic team with Satan, Hasek, etc. (And it didn't hurt that Dad is from Miami) That being said, I'll watch players that I like to watch play. I'll root for the Stars as long as they're not playing Buffalo. But I can't stand the egocentricity of Jerry Jones. I didn't like him when I lived 300 miles away and I certainly don't care for him now that I live in Dallas. As for all the heartbreaks, I watched all of them at the time. I remember The Comeback, watched the entire game, was crushed when Norwood missed the FG, and was screaming at the TV when Hull put his foot in the crease and the Titans made their forward lateral.

Worst Week lasted 20 minutes. And that was giving it 5 minutes past my initial though to kill it. After laughing heartily for 60 minutes over the past three shows (I love the DVR!), I did not get one chuckle or grin out of this show. If it lasts until November, I will be surprised.

06-07, Sabres were 53-22-7, 5 more wins than Ottawa, 4 more than New Jersey, 10 more than Atlanta, 3 more than Detroit, 4 more than Vancouver, and 5 more than Anaheim. QFTThe Detroit Red Wings finished 1st (American division) in 1934, missed the playoffs in 1935, and won the Cup in 1936. The New York Rangers finished 1st (Patrick division) in 1992, missed the playoffs in 1993, and won the Cup in 1994. I had do some wiki digging to come up with the data. The original quote didn't expand on the info or cite a source.

Plane diverted to O'Hare blows tire, goes off runway"He ran out of concrete before he ran out of speed," one traffic controller source said of the pilot's landing. The flight was scheduled to arrive in New York at 4:10 p.m., but was diverted to Chicago because of an electrical systems issue, said American Airlines spokeswoman Mary Frances Fagan. The plane's instrument landing system was not working, meaning the pilots had to make a visual landing approach to Runway 22R, rather than relying on the computerized landing system, according to air traffic sources in Chicago.
The plane had to come in faster than normal because its pilots could not rely on their gauges to find them a safe speed and other readouts, the sources said. The plane couldn't slow quickly enough after getting on the ground and ended up with its front tires in the grass.
