Is this real box art?  sweet.

I notice the RP rating, so I can assure you in the strictest sense that it's not.  In a less nit-picky vein, I also notice the lack of the Harmonix logo on the Wii boxes.

I agree.  I somehow wound up with a copy of the TPB for Death of Superman.  It was a complete deus ex machina moment with no prelude, no back story and was handled badly.

7448  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / GameStop puts the screws to overworked Demigod developers on: April 15, 2009, 03:32:31 AM
GameStop broke the street date, which lead to even more overtime for Demigod developers as they had to get all the MP servers up and running.

And for the conspiracy theorist...

But it's the fact that Demigod is being heavily pushed as a digital download that's got people speculating that GameStop purposely botched the launch date in defiance of Stardock's digital distribution platform, Impulse. Either way, the slip-up forced the game's support team to configure the multiplayer servers for the unexpected amount of early players over the weekend, right after "a good solid eight weeks of massive crunch."
7449  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Gamestop Article on: April 15, 2009, 03:28:43 AM
If someone want to rob a Gamestop, they are going to rob a GameStop.  Shoplifting, on the other hand, is probably lower this way.

And adding display artwork is going to cost money that they would then have to recoup elsewhere.

Lemme help.  To avoid issues with hotlinking, I have started using imageshack, which will allow you to "upload" a file direct from a URL.  It's all in the radio buttons.  Same caveat applies, no viewing the properties.

Can't say that I've been in a similar situation, but if the path to what you want to do seems doable, then I'd say do it.  No job will ever be all gumdrops and roses, but you can certainly improve things if you're not happy.  While the future is not guaranteed, it's a whole lot better to have things to look forward to than always look back on opportunities lost.

Amazon regularly adds new stuff to the freebie library, so make sure to check back every few weeks. Oh, and if you want an easy way to keep tabs on the Daily Deal, subscribe to Amazon's Twitter feed.

Looking at some of the photos, however, I find it difficult to tell that anything has been done.

I disagree.  I find CBS has the best comedies at the moment, what with their entire Monday line-up and Gary Unmarried.  Although, I would watch P&R before I would ever watch Worst Week again.

Two other Somalis, one involved in the negotiations and another in contact with the pirates, also said the talks collapsed because of the U.S. insistence that the pirates be arrested and brought to justice.
This must be a foreign concept to people in Somalia.
Picture Depression-era U.S. with the whole bank robber things.  At that time, they were idolized and seen as modern versions of Robin Hood.  I can certainly see that these pirates, brining millions of dollars into the local economy, are not in the least looked down upon by the majority of the citizens of Somalia and they would be unwilling to turn them over to any sort of law enforcement.

Maybe we should fight money with money and offer to pay the equivalent or more of these ransoms to people who will turn them over to the authorities.  The trick is, there really aren't any authorities in Somalia at the moment anyway...

The situation in Somalia would be very different if not for the complete policy shift by Clinton after the Battle of Mogadishu

PETA has decided that playing whack-a-seal in Northrend is a sign of loyalty to the Lich King and is holding a save-the-virtual-baby-seals event in World of Warcraft that began at 1 P.M. EST today.

Quote from: PETA
Activists from across the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor are banding together to put a stop to the atrocious seal slaughter. Anyone who slaughters baby seals for their fur must surely be in service to the evil Lich King.  You must be in the WhisperWind realm in order to fight... go to Northrend, where you will find a zone called Howling Fjord, where the baby seals live on glaciers and boats float in the fjords. This will be the battleground to stop the slaughter.

From my past (limited) experience with fishing, you need something to carry them.  Most true fisherman will use a fish stringer.

(fishing) A cord or chain, sometimes with additional loops, that is threaded through the mouth and gills of caught fish.

Now that I think about it, I'm getting a Shield-lite kinda vibe from it.

As for Cudlitz, I got the feeling that he really wanted to put the kid through trial by fire and the talk after the shooting was kinda meant as a pep talk to get him through it.  Not exactly motivational speaker level of talk, but trying to get through to him so he didn't shut down.

I often wonder how Gamestop stays in business.  The two closest to me are next door to Walmarts.  The Walmart often has a better selection of both console and PC games at better prices.  It seems to me that in an effort to be everything to everyone, Gamestop lost all marketing differential beyond being a used console game shop.

The Walmarts in the Dallas area keep all of their console games under lock and key.  PC games are fair game for any shoplifters, but if I wanted to get a console game, I have to find the KeyMaster.  It makes me feel like being roasted in the depths of the Slor is preferable.
