Exactly. For me personally, I need to not pay too much attention to my k/d. This prestige, I've been trying to get 75 kills with all of the guns except the sniper rifles just to get a feel for what works for me. I've also been using the contracts to try gametypes and attachments I ordinarily wouldn't. When I'm playing with people I know I try to stick with a "safe" loadout but overall my k/ d suffers. I also try not to look at my stats during a round as I find that it frustrates or jinxes me. When I get killed, I take a deep breath and try not to get angry. Little things like pulling up my sights before I go around corners and checking my six regularly help a lot.

This is the first time I've really enjoyed this series and I love playing with you guys. I'm still not good at the game by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm definitely getting better. It's definitely a result of just putting the reps in.  Also, some great recommendations from Hark regarding perks and equipment that I'm really enjoying.  Hopefully, by the time the next one comes out, I'll be average!

Ordered it for 360.  Unfortunately I am out of the country for another 2 weeks.  I played the World Cup 2010 version and really enjoyed it, but I sucked at it terribly.  If anyone would care to give me some tips or pointers, I'd love to play a game.

I guess it's possible but after a certain point increased frame rate doesn't do much. The human eye and brain can only process so many "frames" per secon anyway. I'm no developer but my guess is that they will degrade visual quality to keep the frame rate above that threshold. Turning 3D off won't improve the quality.

The problem, as I see it, is even if you do away with the glasses problem, 3D requires twice the frame rate, or half the resolution.  I would rather see that processing power used for better graphics, or AI or any other number of things than 3D.

Until they solve the glasses problem there's going to have to be a way to shut it off.  You can't have a SuperBowl party if everyone needs glasses and has to sit right in front of the TV.  So if you shut it off, you'll get a shittier picture.

I vote no to 3D.

After watching the USA England match this afternoon, I decided to pick this  up used at Gamestop but haven't had a chance to play yet.  They didn't have the World Cup game, but I notice that Amazon has it on sale for $40.  Anyone play both and have a recommendation?  I have effectively zero experience with soccer (known as football in some parts of the world, I understand), either watching on tv, or videogame soccer.  Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated.

You should keep Forza 3 if you have any interest in racing whatsoever.  It's excellent.  I never played Halo Wars.  I've heard mixed things, but I still doubt that they can do a proper strategy game on a console.  The keyboard addon is a waste.  You can get cheap 12-month gold memberships pretty easily.  I know that newegg generally has them for $40, and Amazon often does as well.

I bought it.  I'm not thrilled though, because the new maps are segregated out from the old ones, and I can't pick my gametypes.  Send me an invite if you see me on.  Gamertag = IkeV.

You should be using the App Store on the iPod, not your PC.  

I usually purchase my apps through the store on itunes, and not directly from the ipod.  I have an iphone, but it should work the same way.

You also should be able to purchase them directly through the ipod, but for a lot of the bigger ones you have to be connected via wifi.

Back to my questions, do you get JP based on the job the character doing the action is, or based on the job the action is?

I just started this game and I'm completely obsessed with it.  I have absolutely no experience with this kind of tactical game either.

I have some specific questions.

How do JP work?  Do you get them from the generic attack, or only from job-specific actions?  Also, how are they applied to different jobs?  And how do you get them from actions of other characters?  Are they only applied to jobs for that action (e.g. do you only get items jp for chemist actions)?

Also, what are the rules for projectile weapons?  I notice that sometimes if someone is in range, there's still a 0% chance of hitting him?  What are the rules about things getting in the way?

Finally, general advice questions?  What are the best skills to begin with?  I'm trying to get JP boost on all my characters so does that mean that I have to equip them as squires if I want to get squire jp?  Also, I notice that even though some of my characters have the knight class available to them, they don't have enough knight jp to buy any skills.  So how do they get knight jp?  Do I have to give them the knight job?
