Very tempted to finally buy Stick of Truth, but holding out hope of a next gen announcement at E3.

Hopefully, we'll know about it before this sale is over.

Do these last a week?

PSN sales usually last a week, but this is a Flash sale and is only good through Friday at noon Pacific time.

This is a good EddieA post.  A great EddieA post would point out which games should not be missed at those prices.  Help a brother out.  Go for greatness.

I was bombarded this weekend with the new 'price drop' news for the XB1.  Best Buy, Fry's, Toys R Us and Gamestop all wanted to let me know this exciting news.  Clearly retailers are very enthusiastic about the new sku.  Some even offered preorders.  Buzz and excitement before E3 is probably just what MS needed.

Wow, such a turn around from this show.

A great finale that wraps up so much, and leaves some fun and interesting stuff for next season.

Definitely!  Now that's how to do a season finale!!!  Even though the episode wasn't written by Joss Whedon, you could definitely feel the influences and the show finally had more of a Whedon feel to it.  That unique blend of action, humor, drama and romance - it's pretty rare to get it right.  Of course having Samuel Jackson to anchor much of the content sure doesn't hurt at all, he was fantastic!

I'd be hard pressed to pick my favorite line or scene, there were so many, but the one that stuck out for me was:

Spoiler for Hiden:
Fitz's "let me show you" moment/sacrifice.  So I'm a sucker for an unrequited romance, sue me!!!

I actually checked IMDB at one point during the show because at certain points, the writing seemed to have been elevated to that Joss level.  No matter who actually wrote it, I would not be surprised to find that Joss had given it a bit of attention.

I was sure by the end of the episode that Joss had a hand in writing it.  Great season finale.

Any reason you don't just manage it entirely from the iPad? Delete what you don't want, and download what you do want?

I can and do, but I'd like iTunes to do what it promises and function as a library manager.  I've also had big installs crash my iPad after downloading.  I've had one crash that required wiping and restoring the iPad.  At least, iTunes managed that.  Though even then I ended up with some extra icons.
85  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / What's Wrong with iTunes on: May 07, 2014, 04:42:34 AM
I have a bunch of large apps that don't all fit on my iPad.  I keep them on the computer and iTunes keeps them updated.  Only now if I connect the iPad to the computer and try to install one, iTunes tries to install every app that's not on the iPad.  Needless to say, they don't all fit.  What am I doing wrong?  At first, it seems to allocate the correct amount of space on the iPad for the app.  Then, within five seconds, it decides to put everything on the iPad.  Help.
86  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Your Favorite Star Wars Games on: May 06, 2014, 06:33:27 PM
If I were worried about being embarrassed, I would never have put number 10 on there.  TFU may not be a great game overall, but it had several spectacular moments that left great gaming memories.  Unfortunately, I never played Rogue Squadron II.  I take it that it was good?

Besides, what's the point of an online list if half the internet doesn't think your an idiot for your opinions?
87  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Your Favorite Star Wars Games on: May 06, 2014, 02:55:40 AM
I was going to add a couple of honorable mentions including X-Wing Alliance and Republic Commando, but I really wanted to get it published while it was still May the 4th.

I played Dark Forces I & II back when they were released, but I can't remember much about them.  It might just be my notoriously bad FPS skills.  The only thing I can recall was some cheesy FMV.

On the other hand I haven't played The Old Republic.  It might be the greatest game ever, but I've steered clear of MMORPGs ever since a bad MUD addiction back in the day.

I'm more curious as to what others would put at the top of their list, but if critiquing my list is more fun, have at it.

Both reviews said it improved on the first ASM.  I didn't realize that I was supposed to hate that movie.  I thought it was a decent popcorn flick.  If this one is better, I'll probably enjoy it.  I don't expect Shakespeare from the writer of Transformers.  Maybe going in with low expectations will help.

Also grabbing any melee weapons and using environmental attacks makes any martial arts fight easier.    If it's the one I'm thinking of, you can actually use an environmental attack into the aquarium to score a fish as a melee weapon.  Then if you take someone out with the fish, you get an achievement.   I'm pretty sure you can find a few health shrines before that fight which will also make it easier.

I believe Unlimited lets you download a handful of comics for on the go reading.  I was planning to use that feature to let him read the comics I choose for him not let him roam free.  Obviously I would have to use the old trust but verify technique to make sure he follows the rules.  However, if there's not much content on Unlimited that he could read, I can always wait.  I remember one or two of the spiderman series were geared for younger audiences.  Of course, Batman had the same.

I do have the Comixology app, but haven't bought much there.  That's a good idea if Unlimited won't work.  Thanks.

My son is a voracious reader.  He's read a ton of books, but he started reading the comics page in the paper.  Then he started tearing through all the comic collections we have around the house.  He's closing in on the end of the complete Calvin and Hobbes.  Now he's interested in superhero comics.  I'm afraid my collection is long since gone.  We recently completed playing Lego Marvel Superheroes (platinum, yeah!).  He's seen a couple of the Marvel studios movies.  I was thinking about getting Marvel Unlimited for the iPad.  I didn't know how much of the material is appropriate for his age.  Any recommendations for comics or series he could go through?  Is there something better than Marvel Unlimited?  Thanks for the help.

So did it not look good or did Sony offer them a cash hat?  I find it hard to believe they couldn't get their engine working on the xb1.  I'm interested in this one since they mentioned the return of dual web swinging with real attach points like Spiderman 2.  Though now I do wonder if the PS4 version will look next gen.

Any suggestions for the display or the mount?  We're not looking to spend too much since it won't be used on a regular basis.  I'd guess 30 inches or less.  I've researched high end TV's, but not these.  Thanks in advance for the help.

They've changed the survey.  Now they want to know which collector's edition you'd like.  Perhaps more importantly, they list an estimated delivery date of early autumn 2014.  I think I'd be happy with either but the lighted version is pretty cool.

I ordered two things on the 8th and it has said "shipping soon" for days. If they release it tomorrow that would put it at 3-6 days till their delivery estimate. I bet they even use the exact same delivery service as Prime for simplicity's sake, making it no less expensive at all on their part.

Doesn't this strike anyone else as wrong? A company intentionally delaying shipment of products that you ordered for almost a week just so you'll spend money on a "premium shipping service" which is entirely the same as the free one except for the intentional delay?

We were just at the rodeo carnival.  Some people paid for those fast pass badges.  They got to go right to the front of the line while the rest of us had to wait.  Not always pleasant, but we had the same opportunity they did to buy the fast pass.

I've run a warehouse.  Items always get pulled by priority.  If it's slow, low priority items get out just as fast as high priority ones.  If it's busy, it takes a while to even get to the low priority items.  So no, it doesn't strike me as wrong.

Thanks Bob.  I try to send my updated attacks out on a regular basis.

Now I feel bad for not playing the last few days! smile  I had a novel to finish reading.

Don't feel bad.  You're still my bestest friend in the game.  That actually gave me good bonus damage last time.  Heck, half the people in this thread haven't even added me as a friend.  Thank you to everyone who's updated their attack.

I'm still having fun with the game, but I may start peeking at bosses.  Both Chaugmar and Qada were pretty easy fights once I figured out what to do.  It's not much fun wiping a couple times to figure that out.  I had been rolling up to bosses with whatever configuration my party was in, but that stopped working in chapter 3.

In case anyone else wants help with those two:

Spoiler for Chaugmar and Qada:
Chaugmar is nearly invulnerable in his first form.  You just need to default until he transforms.  Then Valkyries can high jump while everyone else defaults for his super attack.  After that you can go to town on him.

Qada isn't that hard if you dispel his regen.  Also don't use damage dispersal as an ability for the fight.  His super attack is on a single target and will KO them, but damage dispersal can result in a party wipe.

Oh, and nemeses also drop buns like mind bun.  You can use those to permanently increase a character's stats.

I'm only closing in on the end of chapter two.  I'm having a lot of fun.  I don't think I've enjoyed a JRPG this much since FFXII.  I'm not really using abililink.  I do like the summon friend attacks.  Bob is the only one who's sent his attack out enough for me to increase affinity with him.  Thanks Bob.  I try to send my updated attacks out on a regular basis.  I am looking forward to completing Norende so I don't have to keep updating my special attacks.  It's pretty nice when you reduce the enemies magical resistance and elemental resistance to something you have a bonus on.  Even better if you can poison them too.

And wow.  Those ranger outfits are even sillier than I expected.

This thread got me interested in the game (since I didn't even realize the Final Fantasy connection).  I grabbed the demo.  I didn't realize I missed the big friend/profile update.  It definitely seems like my kind of game.  I'll probably grab the full game after I'm done tooling around in the demo.  Do I need to collect all eight things before I start the main game?  I don't see any sales on the game.  Is there any reason to go cartridge over digital?  Here's my friend code:

I'll work on adding everyone in this thread.  I'm sure I'll have some more questions soon.
