Don't forget the subliminal frame in the second video that reads:

Project Omega
AI Matrix sector 07-8942
VR Program 'Phantom_Pain.MME'
Contractor: Moby Dick Studios
Subject: Redacted

Purpose:  Treatment of Neurological Damage Sustained in Combat

The rest is too hard to read.

The Empire Strikes Back Tournament has started.  Here is the tournament schedule:

Quote
Star Wars Episode V:The Empire Strikes Back table tournament: March 15 22
Boba Fett table tournament: April 12 19
Star Wars: The Clone Wars table tournament: May 3 10

I'm really not very good at this table.  I'm struggling to hit 50M while the leaders in the clubhouse are over a billion.  For reference, last I checked, Ping had a score around 150M, though I believe that's on limited playtime.

They've usually used steamworks.  I believe Aliens: Colonial Marines was their last release.  It used steamworks.

Bull, the only thing I'm unclear on is if Sony's best case scenario would work for you.  That is, if they have Gaikai streaming of PS3 games for every publisher that allows it, would you be satisfied?  Obviously, the disk would still be required for disk based games.  I'm afraid Tilt's right on hardware or emulation solutions.

For me, Microsoft turning their UI into ad central is far more annoying to me.  I was quite content with my blades.

I was wondering about that.  got a bunch of points to burn, seems to be a good time to burn them.

The points issue was fixed last night.

A long time ago, I won an IGN contest.  I had forgotten that I had entered, but they sent me a copy of Majesty.  Considering that I hadn't heard of the game at the time and now rate it as one of my all time favorites, I'd put that prize much higher than the monetary value.

I once won a closest to the pin contest in a golf tournament.  True, it was for the highest handicap category, but I did win a golf bag.  Given my overall lack of athletic accomplishments, I'm pretty proud of that.
170  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Oldest save game you have installed on: February 20, 2013, 06:00:04 PM
I have some Mechcommander saves from early '99 on this computer.  I'm sure I have old PS1 saves, but I don't think I ever put them on the PS3.  I'd guess the oldest of those is from Battle Arena Toshinden.  The oldest save I have overall is from Leather Goddesses of Phobos for PC.  It's trapped on an old 5.25 floppy.

Here's the update info:

If they had called it, the 49ers would've gotten 4 more plays. Defensive holding or a pass interference is an automatic first down.

Or they could have called offsetting penalties and replayed 4th down.  I'd say the refs were pretty consistent in 'letting them play' the whole game.  You can't really expect them to change that at the end of the game and say they are going to decide the Super Bowl.

Maybe I'm weird but when I see the words 'list below' I expect to see a list below.  When I see a game title below a screenshot with left/right arrows, I expect those arrows to give me more screenshots from that game.  While I appreciate the creative functionality, I think it fails the basic dumb user test.  Also I'd like to be able to sort by genre and platform.  It looks like great work that might be missed by casual visitors.

Congratulations and good luck. We bought a minivan a few years ago.  Back then the top two were the Toyota Sienna and the Honda Odyssey.  Both went through a redesign in the past two years.  Of course, as with any vehicle, I'd recommend buying recent used.  However, I wouldn't go too old on a minivan since they tend to have very high wear and tear.  We ended up going with the Sienna mostly because we were able to get a better deal on it.   One thing that surprised us was how indispensable the dual power doors and rear lift gate were.  They seemed frivolous when we were shopping, but after living with them, we wouldn't buy another minivan without them, especially when one of you is out solo with the kids.

We have had some friends who went with a full size SUV to avoid turning in their man card.  Generally, the guy was happier and the wife was not.

Now I will get on my soapbox a little bit, and maybe this belongs more in the Meta forum, but I think this question even being asked speaks to a bigger issue I see with GamingTrend overall.  I'm not sure this site knows what it wants to be when it grows up.  What's the goal here?  I don't read the main page because it does not provide me *anything* that I can't get better elsewhere.  The staff, for all the hard work and effort, is really providing the same content as untold other sites on the web.  There, to me, is a lack of an overall 'voice' here.  Decisions like running this review or any other content should be made on whether or not they move towards the end goal.  The question is, what is that goal?

I think this is what you should be focusing on.  I knew what the answer was for Gone Gold, but I'm not sure about Gaming Trend.

Digital triggers and a resistive touchpad?  Does Nintendo not even look at what the rest of the technological universe is using?  Even Apple is not above stealing good ideas from everyone else.  It just produces a better product overall.  Is it true you can't run digital games from an attached hard drive?  I like Nintendo games, but I'm beginning to dislike the company.  I am thankful we have at least one new console this year.  I'm sure I'll get one eventually.  Maybe I should pledge to finish my Wii backlog first.

Some good TBS including:

Silent Storm
UFO series
King's Bounty

Etherlords in interesting but may be an acquired taste.  I also enjoyed Star Wolves and Soldiers: HoWWII on that list, but they don't fit the topic very well.

Trailer for the PS3 Exclusive Missions, which are all about Benedict Arnold and his betrayal at West Point...

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/10/23/assassins-creed-iii-expose-benedict-arnold-exclusively-on-ps3/

Pretty damn cool looking....but this sucks for 360 owners. I'd be pissed if I didn't have a PS3. I hate the idea of platform exclusive levels and characters....but I know why they do it.

Anyway, I'm psyched for the game....and AC3:Liberaton, which looks incredible BTW for the Vita.

I'll just Youtube the PS3 missions if I feel they're that important.  it's not enough to get me to rebuy the PS3 or pay for the eventual 360 DLC.  of course I'm planning on getting the Wii U version, so I should say Wii U DLC.

Liberation though, that's got the potential to sell me a Vita.

The thing about Assassins Creed 3 Exclusive Missions are, they are never coming to the 360. The other exclusive mission series, "The Copernicus Conspiracy" for AC: Brotherhood was never released for the 360. This is going to be the same type of thing. Myself, I would not buy a PS3 just for this...but it does make me happy that I have the ability to experience this for free....though I think it should be available to all. It seems pretty cool.

Agree with you about Liberation. It's pretty amazing that they were able to cram all of it onto the Vita. It's a real Assassins Creed game, not some watered down crap like Call of Duty: Black Ops looks like for the Vita.

PS3 exclusive missions are all well and good, but did they remember to get the engine running well on the PS3?  The entire AC2 series looked worse, played slower and had a shorter draw distance on the PS3 compared to the 360.  If the engines run the same, of course, I'll take the extra missions.
198  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Joss Whedon to direct 'The Avengers' on: October 20, 2012, 04:39:00 PM
Ceekay, I understand and see your point.  It makes sense assuming some familiarity with the Marvel universe.  For someone who isn't familiar, Captain America fills in a bit of that background better.  Plus you get to see young Howard Stark before old Howard Stark.  I think that makes the legacy storyline in Iron Man 2 more impactful.  I don't think you'll go wrong either way.

We see the treasure vault in Thor (along with the infinity gauntlet), but the cube isn't there.  The Red Skull mentions it was the jewel of Odin's vault in CA.  Presumably the cube is back there after the Avengers.
199  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Joss Whedon to direct 'The Avengers' on: October 20, 2012, 06:19:53 AM
I'd put Captain America before the Incredible Hulk.  The supersoldier program was a major theme of TIH.  Plus putting it before Thor gives you some idea of the power and influence of the Asgardians.
