Really excited for this! I loved it on the PS3 and can't wait to see it on the PS4.

Hoping GTA 5 is also out this summer for the PS4 as well, as the current rumor is stating.

So, I played the 360 version today. I have the PC version and play it on all the highest settings on my TV via HDMI connection, so I was able to do a pretty direct comparison. PC version obviously looks better, but it's not a huge difference at all. I would assume the difference to be even less between the Xb1 version and 360 version....though I have not played the XB1 version.

Bluepoint has done an incredible job on this. Graphically it is not much worse than the other versions and it plays great.

Digital Foundry quick write up on performance of the 360 version. Overall pretty impressive job by Bluepoint

Performance analysis: Titanfall on Xbox 360

Yep, again showing why there was a complete media blackout on the 360 version along with the delay. It was too good and MS was probably worried it would reflect poorly on the XB1, if launched at the same time. Smart business move, but not really fair to the consumer.
4  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/360/XB1]Respawn's Titanfall on: April 07, 2014, 06:32:02 PM
I've seen a bunch of video now from the 360 version and I can see now why it was delayed a month and no footage of it has been shown. It looks pretty good! Is it as nice as the XB1 version, no, but it is close enough that it may have swayed many that purchased an XB1 to play Titanfall to just stick with the 360 version and save $500.

I am honestly shocked at how well it turned out on the 360.

I have no idea why as I know it is technically an excellent game, but there's something about this one that just isn't drawing me in like other CODs did.

Same. It's strange, since when I play I do have fun....but there is just no overwhelming desire to go back to it, like I have had with COD or Battlefield.

Holding out for the PS4 version of this is going to be tough....the new expansion sounds awesome. Hopefully, the "Ultimate Evil" edition will be out by summer on the PS4.

I wonder if Titanfall 2 will come to the PS4? Titanfall is practically the sole reason for the Xbone having sold any units. I wonder if Microsoft will give a blank check for it in order to get complete exclusivity? I'm guessing Respawn isn't a publicly traded company so they can't go hostile take over route but they could offer the guys in charge an insane amount of money.

At this point, it would take a major miracle to have Titanfall 2 as an Xbox exclusive. If MS was willing to spend the insane amount that EA would demand for it and take a major loss, then they would be better served cutting the price of the Xb1 to less than the PS4. That would sell way more units of the system than Titanfall 2 exclusivity ever would.

As the article linked above stated though....it's not going to be exclusive anyway.

Exactly! smile

I was not expecting it to be the second coming....just a fun superhero type game that looks awesome. I loved the other games in the series (and so did my wife), so I am perfectly fine with it being similar to the others. What exactly were some reviewers expecting?

It's the same with Titanfall, which unfortunately seems to be what everyone is comparing it to, even though they are completely different. I went into TitanFall expecting a fun multiplayer shooter and I got that. I understand that MS wants people to think it is the second coming, but I wasn't expecting it to be, and I had fun.

Overall, I think people just need to stress less over reviews. They are just opinions and everyone just has to learn to relax and enjoy the games. smile

Early reports are that the game should take 10-12 hours per playthrough (assuming you want to play through once as good and once as evil). Full platinum ~30 hours.

I wish it was a little longer but I think it will still be worth the money seeing as it's the only thing I have to play on the PS4. smile

Dead Nation is fun in short bursts but honestly I'm a full AAA game kind of guy. These little indies just don't do anything for me.

I enjoy Dead Nation. You are right, it is fun in short bursts. I am a full AAA kind of guy as well, but then I got all the multiplat stuff on the PS4....so I still have lots to play. I also love how lots of the indie stuff has been free for PS+. Don't starve, Outlast and Dead Nation are all great free games. smile

I'm having some buyers remorse for sure.

I purposely didn't play the beta because I wanted it to be "fresh and new to me".

So far I'm up to level 37 with what I feel is minimal playing time. Part of my issue is I think you can level too quickly.

I'm also an average to mediocre fps player. But I'm just bored with the seemingly repetitive gameplay. I thought hardpoint would be a blast for me, but I find it still alot of chaotic running and gunning.

Like gratch, I'm getting killed so fast that half the time I don't see it coming or by whom. Things are moving way too fast for me that most of the time I'm lost.

Regardless of the game mode, I just find myself running around like crazy and jumping on enemy Titans to rodeo them. Rinse and repeat.

I'm glad others are having a good time, I find it very repetitive and boring already at level 37.

I love BF4 and have had little to no issues with it like others. I'll be going back to that and look forward to the expansion next week. That's more my pace.

Yeah, I am having the same thoughts on it. Is it fun? Yes, but it's just not grabbing me the way COD or Battlefield did in the past. I'll probably shelve it soon anyway, for inFamous.

If you haven't played Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag yet, I would consider the PS4 version to be the definitive experience.  The vanishingly small graphical downgrade from the PC version is offset by not needing to jump through any weird hoops to fix Ubisoft's V-Sync issues, and I thought it was the best AC game since Brotherhood.

And don't forget: if you have a Vita or PS3, there's a bunch of free games you can nab off PSN for those platforms too!

Agreed. I played both the Xbox One and PS4 versions of ACIV and there is no question that the PS4 version is a superior experience. It was honestly shocking to me to see the difference in the two versions.

The Target lady was all excited and there were employees gathered around like I had come in to purchase the Mona Lisa or something. The girl who sold it to me was obviously a gamer because she was geeking out hard. If my wife had not been there I'm pretty sure she would have proposed.

When I told her I didn't want a game she looked shell-shocked. Then I told her I was waiting on Infamous. Her whole face lit up and she gave me the "fellow gamer telepathic gaze of total understanding."

I really don't have any dog in any console war since I am sitting comfortably on the sidelines, but I think any comparison between XB1 and PS4 monthly sales is meaningless until the PS4 is as readily available as the XB1. I haven't seen a PS4 anywhere in weeks.

I don't think it's meaningless for the simple reason that the PS4 outsold the XB1 2:1 in January, yet one would presume it was just as scarce then (if not scarcer).

(Shrugs) I can't possibly comment on whether or not the ps4 was more or less supply constrained in the US in February vs January. What I do know is that the xbox one was not supply constrained in February and the ps4 was. I am not in any way implying that the xbox one is doing poorly, but comparing sales of it to the ps4 is silly when ps4s are hard to find and xbox ones are not.

Exactly, there are tons of Xbox Ones around. I see them whenever I am out. Heck, everytime I walk into Best Buy there are multiple signs that say they are available. As for the PS4, well good luck finding one. Your best bet seems to be on Amazon. I did see a PS4 yesterday at Wal-Mart, but that is only the second time I have seen one since launch.

How do I find GT'ers to play with?  Assuming you'd be willing to play with a n00b, that is.  I'm skinypupy on Origin...not sure if we have an Origin handle list around here or not.  Tried to import my friends list from XBL (no idea if it's cross-platform or not), and just kept getting server errors.

I hate the concept that every single player game needs to have multiplayer and that every multiplayer game needs to have single player. If I like flight sims, I don't complain that Thief doesn't have an airplane level. I just go buy a flight sim. Since when did every game have to please every player?

Exactly! This game doesn't need single player. It's about pwning noobs... in mechs.. or with a jetpack strapped to your back!  icon_biggrin

Speaking as a noob, this is the exact reason why I won't be buying this game.  The whole package looks pretty awesome, but going up against the COD bro-sect holds exactly zero appeal to me.

Did you try the beta?  The game does quite a lot of great things to make the game noob-friendly.  Of course, you have to raise above the ritt skill threshold for it to have an effect.  icon_wink

LOL yeah.  As I mentioned I couldn't even make it through the entire tutorial, and not for lack of trying.  I just don't do well with jumping puzzles in any game.  When you add the FPS perspective it just makes it worse for me.  Then you factor in the pace of MP and everyone else being way ahead of you in all facets of the game, and I guarantee it is NOT noob-friendly.

So to answer the later comment below, it's not that I demand SP content to get my money's worth or whatever, but in a game like this, it would be the only way I might be able to practice/learn enough to be viable in multiplayer.

I'm in the same boat as rittchard.  I kinda suck at FPS anyways, so playing an MP game and getting my ass absolutely handed to me every single time I boot it up isn't particularly fun.  I have very little gaming time, so practicing to get significantly better isn't much of an option either.

Everything about Titanfall looks really damn cool though (i.e. the world, the setting, the combat, etc.), which is why it's disappointing that there isn't any form of single player for those of us who don't enjoy being perpetual noobs.

Yeah, I really do wish there was some sort of offline mode. That is a major omission. Hopefully for Titanfall 2! smile

I'm level 18 and had not received a booster pack in months, until two days ago when I got one. I would really love to know what the base drop rate is on them. I know that they are randomly given out whenever someone crafts a badge, or so their FAQ says. It also says that for every ten levels you get a 20% bump in your chance for getting one.

Ugh. I'm pretty sure my f*&king console is defective. Half the time I don't get any sound after I boot up and it requires a reboot, and there have been multiple instances of the thing not connecting to the network. I also get these weird sound/video glitches during games. Anyone experience any of this?

One time I got no sound but a simple switch to tv and back to hdmi 2 fixed it. Just a receiver handshake quirk. No graphics or audio issues here like that. When did you get it?

It's a launch console. I've been hoping that the issues would be resolved in a firmware update but it hasn't happened yet and it's starting to become a major annoyance. I guess I'll contact Amazon first and then Sony, I hope I don't have to go weeks/months without it while they attempt to fix it.

I've had an audio issue as well (no sound at some random point during a game) and it can be annoying. Luckily, it doesn't happen often at all (mostly during NBA 2k14) and it can be fixed by going out to the system menu and just switching the audio to HDMI, then switching back to the digital out. The sound comes right back. Seems like a firmware issue.
