81  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Moving into my house this weekend. on: September 17, 2014, 05:35:40 AM
And I'm freaking the f**k out! All is good, just so much to do. Overwhelming would be welcomed, this is far beyond. Anywho, any advice besides feeling like throwing up!?! It's feeling like, despite the home in very good condition , remodeled etc, that there will always be something to improve apon. My OCD doesn't like that. paranoid

I'm not arguing with you first of all . I like playing nice so I'm glad we can keep it that way. Also I'm glad you are enjoying it, as I really want to a lot more. But this could have been so much more. It's really a tiny world.

Not sure why you would think we aren't keeping it nice?

Anyways - I never played Halo, so perhaps I don't have the warm fuzzy memories I keep hearing people talk about and thats probably also a factor. Did Halo feature a large open world? I remember trying a Halo once, where I was on a spaceship, got shot down, and had to go...somewhere?

May I also ask what level you are? Since you say its a tiny world? I actually find some of the worlds pretty big - Venus is enormous! I do dislike the moon, though - so damn boring.

I think the reason I like it, is the minimalistic rpg systems it has actually. I love levelling up skills and weapons, and the hunt for better weapons, for more light on armor at lvl 20 (I'm level 22 right now) is pretty fun as well, IF you like this kind of gameplay. It is, like Tilt says, an MMO at heart, with all the great and bad stuff that comes along with that.

I do enjoy the PVP A lot as well - Control has been fun to play, which is the only pvp I've tried. That has 5 different maps I've seen so far, and there are 4 (5?) different pvp style of matches in right now. The vehicular combat is probably another. If each pvp style has 4 or 5 maps, thats already a LOT of content, especially for a game, where this is only one half of the game.

Strikes are really, really fun to play - So intense and dependent on good gameplay that I'm happy most of those I've teamed up with have been competent. I can't wait to try out a raid as well!

As you can probably tell, I really like the game, and the different stuff I can do in it. I'll never be the one to have 100 marks in crucible and vanguard each week, but I'll still have a ton of fun playing it.

I honestly meant we were keeping it nice. Sorry my wording was a bit off , I'll agree, wanna fight?  :PThere wasn't any sarcasm or anything, rather a compliment .

That being said I'm gonna wait til the move is over and I'm setup again with some free time and try to play a ton of this with my buddy and see if my opinion changes. I guess I've never really had a game let me down so much only to do a 180 and have me love it. There's a first for everything!

Eh no? Did anyone say anything about charging for it?

Content will be released piecemeal this month, and for free.

That's cool and all , really free content is good . But, that doesn't change the fact that the game I paid for was severely lacking in multiple ways when I picked up my copy. Also, if this is more "missions" that reuse the same assets/watch the cube hack whilst I protect it. The formula has to be deeper. Trust me, I really want to like this game. It is just so limited in scope which is the opposite of what we expected based on everything bungie said..
85  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Destiny -Bungie's new game with Activision on: September 16, 2014, 06:03:51 AM
So they will charge me again to play through some of the same areas again! I already bought those! Insane . I already played those too many times already. I can see the argument about it being like a mmo , but they stated it wasn't, and either way, the game has shitty minimal content. Period . Potential it has , I hope they get even close after this sucky launch.
86  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Destiny -Bungie's new game with Activision on: September 15, 2014, 10:20:42 PM
Okay, this game *almost* completely sucks. While fun with groups, playing solo is a joke. THIS FULL PRICED GAME feels like a extended beta or something. They literally cut and copied almost every single mission. No story. Wtf bungie?!! Activision!?! Someone!?! I read something from bungie today that said the players don't understand this game and it take about 20 hrs to get interesting. Well there's a fucking design flaw! My buddy is getting tonight via a late arrival preorder. Once he decides to let it go, you know in a day or two, mines gone. Bestbuy is offering 47 for the trade still around here I think. I hope. I just don't understand how they thought his would fly w consumers. At. All. Unless something "magical" happens soon ... I'll shooty face a few more days and cut it loose.
87  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Destiny -Bungie's new game with Activision on: September 14, 2014, 06:00:23 PM
Like I said its fun. But the missed opportunities are EVERYWHERE. The funny part is that the stuff that is missing , is the stuff bungie tends to excel at. Story , AI, lore, etc.
88  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Destiny -Bungie's new game with Activision on: September 14, 2014, 05:41:53 AM
I don't know how I feel about this game now. Fun , but wow, it's so repetitive! I mean, come on, the game seems to really only have 4 levels in the "story" mode. On top of that, the "story" is nonexistent. Bungie could have done so much better. It's fun, but I'm wondering if I should just sell it off to get rid of this feeling I get from this purchase. Such a missed opportunity. Then the biggest slap in the face is the fact that they already have 2 pieces of dlc coming when the base game is really lacking in content...

Yeah, it's too bad it took this long for the game to get some recognition, since the SuperBot studio was closed down after it failed to take off.

Yea, this is one super polished, fun game .

Out of principal I'm not ever shopping at GameStop again ...

I had a few bucks in credit there so I grabbed the digital copy so I didn't have to, you know, go back at midnight. Maybe because I just bought a house I was being extra cautious and asked the following questions. " Can I pre download this right when I get home?" "Yes" said the douche behind the counter. The code didn't work so I call and get this . "At midnight HERE in GMT timezone you'll be able to download it". I stated that's not what I've been told previously but I figured okay no worries. I even asked are you sure? The psn says 3am, he says nope 12:01 for sure . Okay I can deal, well after midnight still no worky and I decided to call again..."I don't know where you heard that from he says, it's 3:01 here is when u can download it..."

My rage meter went thru the roof...

I'm still loving this. Free is a great price, but seriously I wish I wouldn't have dismissed this game at launch, they developed a excellent brawler.

I've had to euthanize two cats. Looking into their eyes as the life goes out is heartbreaking.

Our current cat is 16.5 years old and mostly healthy, but I know that the euthanasia scene is likely to be repeated before very much longer. I'm dreading that day, whether it's months away or a year. None of our previous cats ever lived past 17.

So I understand how you feel about Vader, and I'm sorry to hear about it. Eventually the happy memories will crowd out the sad.

Yeah, I've done this 4 times. Hate it, I always swear off animals but then those eyes get me again.

Got all of my time spent gaming with D3 and getting my crusader up to level 40.  Didn't get near enough time in as I hoped or expected to though.

Free ps+ games. That's it. Closing on a house then super quick moving so that will have me tied up really soon. Diablo3 , destiny, pvz gw, TLOU, and others will keep me plenty busy.

Where did you get a 2TB drive for $90? That's dirt cheap!

Just off Amazon, it's not a SSD or anything.  Also just 5400 RPM, though that is what comes default in the PS4, suppose I could have went for 7200.

This one, which you have to remove from the enclosure.  If you note the Amazon reviews some talk about using it for their PS4.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ILALU9G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'll let you know how it goes once I get it.

From what I've read, go with 5400. 7200 produces too much heat for that little box.
