I don’t think the gore has to do with trying to be mature so much as giving the player a clear cut representation of combat. Gore as used in Infinite makes the combat feel more responsive. If a person’s head explodes you know instantly that they are dead and you can switch targets. It may only be a couple seconds different but it’s enough to change the flow and feel of combat. This is actually something that bothers me in FPS that don’t use some form of damage modeling.
I agree with that 100%.

No, everyone, pay more attention to me! What a bold, discerning maverick I am, forging against the tide of popular opinion to denigrate my betters! Anyone can score a game against contemporary standards, but only the most cunning of auteurs can transform a game review into a sweeping commentary on industry marketing by holding the finished product up against the fantastical expectations dreamed up while gorging on pre-release spoilers for the last three years. OVERHYPED ARGLE BARGLE! Now get out of my way! I'm off to participate in a panel discussion about the philosophical themes in Bioshock Infinite! Obviously, every miserable failure of effective world-building and competent storytelling deserves a forty minute deconstruction of the inspirations drawn from Koyaanisqatsi. I just hope there'll be a good opportunity to connect phrases like "reductive verisimilitude" and "vomit waffles" in conversation so I can underscore the intelligence of my critique without losing any street cred. Someone stencil "Senior" onto the start of all my business cards! Weapon upgrades? Come again? Durr, I though all the vending machines sold exactly the same thing so I just ignored them! Even the ones with totally different color schemes and sounds. Thank god my inability to comprehend basic gameplay elements has zero effect on my opinion or, apparently, my credibility! Oh, what's this? "Extremely High Voltage!" Well, I don't need safety gloves, because I'm Homer Sim--Bzzzzzt I'm confused. Sarcasm? That or drunk. Hey, I drink alot! Don't blame it on that!;)

I agree since I support the death penalty when folks do something heinous enough to warrant it.
You trust the cops, prosecutors, and people not smart enough to get out of jury duty to convict the right people 100% of the time? Nope. But then again, I don't expect infallibility from humans in anything. Just because I believe that a guy who raped and murdered a child and has irrefutable evidence supporting that accusation should be put to death, that doesn't mean I automatically believe everyone who commits a crime should be. In other words, it's not a black and white issue...no matter how much folks would love to think it is. I don't see how you can pick and choose who gets the death penalty. Irrefutable evidence gets thrown out 20 years later as technology improves or witnesses recant their testimony. To make exceptions in certain cases (e.g., Jeffrey Dahmer) is to open the door for innocent people being put to death. So no crimes should be prosecuted? Cheers to that last post!

So after another two hours or so... Holy shit! Awesome story, awesome overall presentation, great audio and dialog. Phenomenal gameplay as well, suprisingly so. Also this came with the first bioshock, which I've played and sold and kinda wanted to play again anyway . So back to infinite... A simple thing this game has done is been really fun so far. This is what gaming is about to me.

damn! just watched Adam Sessler's review and my graphical is nothing like what I just saw. the gameplay he used was from 360. maybe somehow my son chnaged my settings to 480i I'll have to check tmrw. I'm playing on ps3 which seems to look/perform similar. It's not the best looking game ever, but the lighting, animation, art design and some other cool shit more than make up for it. It doesn't look bad.

I watched this tonight. First time ever, had no clue what was going on, but didn't really want to... AWEFUL acting is what I saw. Just was too over the top cheesy. Maybe it's better than what I saw, and probably better if I knew why was going on... Still, seemed pretty crappy.

We had a pet pig in Georgia. They are definitely as smart as a dog. Knew his name, always wanted to come inside the house, would fall over when you scratched his belly.
Didn't stop me from eating bacon. Even he ate a piece by mistake that was dropped on the floor.. pigs really will eat anything!
See, even his pig didn't care this much!

The difference is, well different to others. Obviously being desplayed right here. I recently had to put one of my cats down and ill tell you, again, very difficult. So for me there is that difference. I respect other people opinions alot. Another random thought, if I had pet pig Im sure I wouldn't eat pork. Sometimes things are just "how they are". I think one party here is asking questions that I believe the other party or anyone else can't really answer. Pretty simple actually. The sun through the fog so to speak.
Okay enough talk more sleep;).

I've never played Uncharted since I don't own a PS3 and I'm playing Tomb Raider on a PC so I can't compare the two. I will say TR is absolutely a AAA title. I love all the little details in character animation that they put into Lara. When she crouch walks and passes by an object (like say a stack of tires) she'll cautiously put her hand out and touch them - like a real person sneaking would do in order to know where the object is - so she won't bump into it. When walking in a cave she'll reach out and touch the wall if she's close enough, and when she first gets into water she'll sometimes flick the water off her hands. I've also noticed that she turns her head when there's something of interest close by. Its clued me into several hidden items during some points in the game. But that head turn is not glaringly obvious, like in some games where the character's head just keeps turning around to face the object of interest. I especially love the scene And there's definitely a subtle change in the way she does certain things as she progresses in the game. Well 90 percent of that stuff was in the uncharted games, especially number 3. Not a bad thing at all. Just saying you would also enjoy the uncharted series.

Thanks guys. Sorry for the slow response time on my part. I've worked every day since. Probably a good idea to keep my mind moving. It just never gets any easier, and as I knew before, but had been proven again. This is a great community and it helps to know you aren't alone. Thankyou.

What's there to say. It sucks. She only had one kidney since birth and it was failing. I've done it before and it never gets any more easy, that's for sure. Lily will be missed a ton. Just a six year old tabby, and a sweet one. Loved to cuddle, slept in our bed every night. She loves to "spoon" with me. My wife always joked that lily got more time with me than she did;). Our other cat, lucky, now isn't sure what to do. Our two dogs are weirded out by her being gone as well.
I just needed to vent and share my frustrations with someone. Six years is nowhere near long enough. We've gotten screwed out of time with other animals as well. One of our dogs also was only six when he passed. Oh boy. Work is gonna suck today. Can't take off. At least my wife could. I can't imagine her doing real well out and about this soon. Feels like my heart has been ripped right out.

I was going to quote something someone said that was funny and comment... Couldn't make a decision. Too many good options. As many around here know, I appreciate anything number 2, and this was a funny read...on the toilet! No shit, I mean no joke...
Poot sounds like one crapped themselves. The you gotta be shitting me comment was gold. Just passing it along. Gold as well!!! The Hawaiian word "hooiaioia" has more consecutive vowels than any other word in any human language. Nice!!!!
See, this was a chore to pick em!
