It's way better with friends or surprisingly randoms so far. Don't know how to call that. That being said, this game with others is insanely fun.

Do they still do that thing where they take new games out of the container and put them in a bag behind the counter? I stopped shopping there over a decade ago because of that.

I believe so. They have sold me something used as new before. They, around here at least, have seemed to behave a bit better as of recently.

This is a wonderful platform.  My kids and I have been playing it for months.

If you like It, I definitely recommend Dodo Master.

Also a great platformer.

I found myself on a RV for 14 hrs last weekend. This game got lots of love.

I played a good chunk yesterday and opened up the second area, which is a lot more vertical.  It reminded me of AC Unity in that buildings are close, tall and there are pathways across roads without having to go down to street level.  There are also a lot of open rooms which you can go into and search or use to hide at night.  It does seem smaller than the slums area, and doesn't appear to have any sewer systems that you can enter.  Also, there are fewer safe houses (so far) which means you really need to plan out your route once dusk falls.  I recommend you waiting on running the mission to the new area until you are at least 15 or so in survivor skill as there are no random airdrops.  There is a handful of drops in the world which are protected by thugs or swarming with specials, but going too soon could make survivor a pretty bad skill to grind later.

I managed to play a bit of co-op, but sadly the experience isn't quite as fun as I'd hoped, at least with a PUG.  No communication over mic, players that seem to intentionally stay back from mission objectives instead of warping to the rest of the group, and a general lack of co-op tactics, which were a big part of the fun in Dead Island.  Everybody is basically playing it single player.  Also, in the few times I tried to set up the little mp challenges, noone wanted any part of it, even though it gives you xp for completing them.  The last player who was in my game basically quit after I tried to set one up.

One thing related to the story that I wish they had improved.  At one point in the game, a somewhat major character dies and your character is pretty upset about it.  "he was my best friend" you say.  well, it doesn't feel like it when the game only has you running and not showing any kind of down time or any kind of shared experience outside of the early introduction.  I think they could have improved by having some of these characters accompany you on missions.  I'm not asking or wanting anything like GTA IV with it's forced and npc's constant need to hang out, but calling someone your best friend should mean more than few handful of scripted scenes.

The "problem" isn't with coop, it's bc a lot of people suck..

I picked this up for some reason and got to play for several hours yesterday.

I got to the point of the first forced night mission and after first running away from the virals I started creeping veeeery slowly to avoid all the others and try to get back to the tower.  After creeping slowly (and running one more time) for a long time, somehow a viral just spotted me out of nowhere as I was crouching behind a car.  Of course a whole bunch of them started chasing me and then I died.  And it spawned me back before I got the last package.  Fuck that.

This game can go to hell if they really want to introduce players to their night mechanic with a forced night mission (after a terrible cutscene where my character does stupid things for clearly terrible people) that is going to take a long time and end in death and resets.  I'm fine with failing on my own terms, but being forced to fail and lose time is not my idea of fun.

I would honestly say try again. This game is pretty damn good. I shared zero early impressions w you.

Well that seems to defeat the whole point of getting stronger and faster, doesn't it?   retard

He is lying! icon_wink. Honestly I thought the difficulty leveling is spot on.  Still really enjoying this. It somehow at times reminds me of the first Thief game(zombiesduh! Ron Swanson is the best man ever...

Simple controls. Left side of the screen controls side to side movement. Right side of the screen controls up and down movement. He can poof up and float or go up and swiping down makes him go down(dive underwater/ bounce down for momentum etc). Actually pretty precise.

I'm back into playing this after a little break.  I really like the game, but it's going to have to be played in short bursts for one reason alone: Rabi Ray Rana.  That fucking Radio Free Kyrat DJ.

I find every goddamned thing he says annoying as living hell.  It was bad enough when he was just on the radio, but then he starts giving you missions, and he does this thing that he clearly finds funny and charming but is really just more face-punch fodder.  He finishes giving you the mission over the walkie and then rambles for ten minutes about literally nothing. And then he makes a joke about how he's doing that thing again where he rambles and the whole time he's being "charmingly apologetic" you're screaming at the TV and telling him to shut. the. fuck. up.

One time it was something about assholes.  It wasn't about people who are assholes, but actual assholes.  He has also paid me a complement where he has wished for the sun to shine on my asshole.  What the fuck is his deal with assholes?  I don't like to really think about them at the best of times, but this douchebag is squeezing them into compliments where they just don't fit.

Honestly, he makes it really hard to keep playing.  One of these days I may have to shove a radio up his asshole and see how he feels about them then.

Great game, but it absolutely overstayed its welcome. On four separate occasions I thought the game was complete, and then I got sent on some benign FedEx run to pull a switch or turn a knob. Aliens Isolation was quickly rising into my top 5 games of the year, but quickly devolved into mediocrity by the end.

kudos to Creative Assembly for nailing the atmosphere of Aliens, but they still need to learn a thing or two about pacing. And like that relative that overstays his or her welcome during the holidays, they need to learn when enough is enough. If most of the last three hours had been scrapped or shortened, the game would have been stellar. They could have saved a bunch of development costs AND made a better experience.

In fact, I ended up YouTubing the ending...and was surprised to see I still had about an hour left.

That's what's keeping me from the game. I just don't have the patience to slog through a 20ish hour suspenseful campaign.

I don't have the stomach to...

79  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Relationship Help on: January 02, 2015, 11:07:49 AM
Okay here it is! I believe that's, to some extent, pretty normal. As the others have mentioned, my situation isn't like yours but... Sure, there has been times when I think fuck this, I'm out! But, it hasn't happened. Yet. There are things that always make me know that despite some problems, which everyone has, I'm really in the best seat in the house so to speak. I recently quit my job because it was driving me crazy. She TOLD me to do that. I've been playing a shit ton of music recently and have some biggish shows booked in and out of town. She is cool w that. I've been stressed bc I haven't even begun to figure out what I'll do next. She says, " enjoy the holidays, you'll figure it out". After band practices a few of us precede to get hammered so I stay at my keyboard players house, if I let her know what's up, no problem.

Sure, I realistically could find someone younger etc., but why when this beautiful woman in everyway possible is about as close to perfection for me would I do anything deferent. Trust me, I... We have discussed this before, and we are in some fucked up way, meant to be together.

I also agree there is a thershold. At the end of the day, you need to be happy. Therapy might a good option to try so you can both be happy whichever way it falls. Some things work and some don't. If I knew all the involved factors trust me I'd share.
