Ug. Sorry to hear all of that. Doesn't sound promising to stay unfortunatley from my view.

I won't get into the details of the shitty job I quit. I will be looking soon to regain employment. But in the meantime, I'm playing crazy amounts of music w a new band which contains two peeps from my other band. We are playing a lot. Here's a link to old stuff prior to me joining.https://m.soundcloud.com/slapnticklecle. We have a show w ekoostic hookah on the 17th then some show in Cincinnati on the 18th. Anyone wanna come see us in Cleveland?😁 I'm the old looking bass player in white!

Great game, but it absolutely overstayed its welcome. On four separate occasions I thought the game was complete, and then I got sent on some benign FedEx run to pull a switch or turn a knob. Aliens Isolation was quickly rising into my top 5 games of the year, but quickly devolved into mediocrity by the end.

kudos to Creative Assembly for nailing the atmosphere of Aliens, but they still need to learn a thing or two about pacing. And like that relative that overstays his or her welcome during the holidays, they need to learn when enough is enough. If most of the last three hours had been scrapped or shortened, the game would have been stellar. They could have saved a bunch of development costs AND made a better experience.

In fact, I ended up YouTubing the ending...and was surprised to see I still had about an hour left.

That's what's keeping me from the game. I just don't have the patience to slog through a 20ish hour suspenseful campaign.

I don't have the stomach to...

Okay here it is! I believe that's, to some extent, pretty normal. As the others have mentioned, my situation isn't like yours but... Sure, there has been times when I think fuck this, I'm out! But, it hasn't happened. Yet. There are things that always make me know that despite some problems, which everyone has, I'm really in the best seat in the house so to speak. I recently quit my job because it was driving me crazy. She TOLD me to do that. I've been playing a shit ton of music recently and have some biggish shows booked in and out of town. She is cool w that. I've been stressed bc I haven't even begun to figure out what I'll do next. She says, " enjoy the holidays, you'll figure it out". After band practices a few of us precede to get hammered so I stay at my keyboard players house, if I let her know what's up, no problem.

Sure, I realistically could find someone younger etc., but why when this beautiful woman in everyway possible is about as close to perfection for me would I do anything deferent. Trust me, I... We have discussed this before, and we are in some fucked up way, meant to be together.

I also agree there is a thershold. At the end of the day, you need to be happy. Therapy might a good option to try so you can both be happy whichever way it falls. Some things work and some don't. If I knew all the involved factors trust me I'd share.
51  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: New Year's Eve: How as your 2014? on: December 31, 2014, 10:08:48 PM
Pros

Bought a house and loving it.
Playing in a new band with "big" shows coming up.
Still married to someone who somehow puts up with me.
Quit my job, no more dealing w Mr. Asshole!

Cons

Bought a house is a con too.
Both my wife's grandmother that helped raise her, and my grandmother passed away.
Depression really got its grip on me and this dark, dark winter isn't helping.
Quitting my job, now having to figure out everything all over again.

I'm really sorry for your loss. It's never fun. Do not blame yourself for what you did/didn't do, that will eat you alive for nothing. You took the best course of action you saw fit at the time. My wife and I beat ourselves up for awhile after one of our dogs had to be put down at age 6. We spent thousands apon thousands of dollars trying different things for months and months of time hoping for the best. It didn't work out, but we learned to realize that we tried our very best. While our best didn't give us the results we wanted, a difference was made. Once again, I'm very sorry for your loss.

What's the warranty on the PS4s? Were you able to replace it for free?

Nope... But i did bark at best buy because they made it sound like my warranty would provide a new system, not a refurb. So, I grabbed one at gamespot, then got best buy to refund my warranty and give me a new system which I am going to return instantly. I can't believe best buy used to be good...

Sony itself provides a 1 year warranty on the system. I had to use it when mine got hit by lightening.

It was just past the one year mark.

That's my thing. On ps4 updates are super quick. I don't really NEED to have this on at all times. Seriously Google ps4 click... Most people, including myself had/ have one that does that. Think it's the power supply firing up and down. This one, silent almost.

So does the 1st expansion add more missions where you travel deeper and deeper into a cave/complex and end up in a large room/area where your Ghost then spends minutes trying to hack/analyze/open an important object while waves and waves of evil enemies attack you and you have to hold them off?

Because I never get tired of those levels. Never.

Wasn't that the entire game structure?😁

Haven't played anything on it yet, had to get shit done before bed. But thus far, super quiet. Does anyone have a ps4 like mine where no clicking occurs? Also, standby or off? I was rather shocked by how bland Destiny turned out to be.  I knew it wasn't a full SP game but I expected something better than just re-running the same patrol missions in the hope of getting better loot, just to get better loot so I can re-run the same patrol missions to get better loot, etc.

It sure it pretty though.
This sums it up pretty well.  Pretty/bland

My lightbulb moment came after spending an hour in front of the loot cave.  I played for an hour, got a few blues and more greens, and went from level 20 to level 20 with ~10  more light points .  I looked back and thought what I could be playing instead that I would actually enjoy and everything was more enticing.

Just traded it today. Same exact feeling about it. Every time I was playing it, it felt like I should be playing or doing something else. Same for watchdogs. Just not very good games. I also vote for Diablo ps4. I've pkayed this on Mac and 360 and love it EVEN more on ps4. The game is phenomenal. I just started dragon age on ps4. Wow. Seriously as much as people like to bitch about the lack of games, I enjoyed a ton this year. Last of us, tomb raider, gta5, cod aw and so on. Kept me busy.

They might play smooth, but the issue is when you have someone lined up center mass in your sights, pull the trigger, don't kill him, and die after.

Or die when someone melees you after they've run past you.

That's where the server and lag issues pop up.

I really haven't seen much of that. Cross my fingers.

Does that mean everyone is equally suffering from the crazy lag issues? Last night was the worst I've seen in a long while. I recorded some clips and replayed them today as saw such a great disparity ingame versus kill cam

My experience so far is that, the games play is smooth but if you look at the ping, they read horribly. Even the though the game seems to run really smooth. Actually enjoying my time with COD again.

just as an fyi, there have to be some dedicated servers going on because I've seen all 12 players have bad ping numerous times.  This can't happen in the old system since one person is the host.  I think the problems are more related to being thrown to distant servers and individual player lag + lag compensation instead.

I connected to a french host yesterday...at least i think so. Everyone speaking in french was kind of a give away i think..also they spent the whole game running away.

I laughed

Same.

Played about an hour or so of the sp and so far it's pretty neat. Lots of gadgets being thrown at you and it can be pretty overwhelming.

Did 3 or 4 mp matches and I really have no idea what I'm doing with anything.  I'm randomly turning on gadgets and when I mean to be throwing nades and having shields pop out of my arm when i mean to be meleeing.

It feels really tight so far and no issues with servers.  Got a 12 kill streak and used the UAV, remote turret and the Vulcan drone.  The turret was pretty spray and pray and seemed to take a lot of hits to kill a guy.  The Vulcan overheated  quickly and as a result of these limitations at least these two killstreaks seemed to be pretty balanced the one time I got to use them.  Seems like knife kills are just as op as always

Escaped with a 1.86 KD over this handful of matches.

Overall first blush impressions are quite good.

I feel pretty similar about this game so far. Liking it a lot.
