Sorry I took so long to respond. I`ve been a busy boy. My impressions of the whole wii thing continue to get even better. I`m lovin` it.
1962  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / I got my wii. on: April 30, 2007, 08:27:08 AM
...and I posted this on it! I'll end up grabbing another 360 again or a PS3 soon enough. I'll go with whatever seems to NOT break at crazy rates at the time (I gave up after 4 360's:(  ). BTW, the wii owns so far. I'm diggin' the interface alot. So far Zelda:TP, Super paper mario, Warioware:Smooth moves, and even wii sports are all fun stuff. Just wanted to post!
1963  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: ACK!!! I swapped out my 360 twice today and guess what!?! on: April 27, 2007, 05:40:43 AM
I understand what you guys are saying... but I think you are misunderstanding me. It`s the MIDDLE LIGHT that never has done this before. It`s only supposed to blink when the media tray is opening or closing. I ended up calling EB HQ ( If you will...) and got a full refund (well, store credit)...even after 8 months from the date of the original purchase. I`m getting a Wii, and waiting until they have a revision on the 360 before I try this again. I`ll get one again, not for awhile though. I`m done fucking around with this thing for now. I already have too much stress in my life icon_frown I don`t need to pay 400 bucks+ for more mad. Don`t get me wrong, it`s great as far as games and features, but the hardware smells like poop! Well...
1964  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: ACK!!! I swapped out my 360 TWICE! TODAY!! and guess what!?! on: April 26, 2007, 09:50:18 AM

Ug, after the first one sounded like a screw was loose in it...maybe I was paranoid, but I`m still all  finger. Anywho, now after thinking this one was fine. The middle green light blinks when I boot it up and the tray is closed...Once again... finger So, anyone here hear of that before? I looked around but luck, I`m assuming it`s bad since the book says that any other patterns of blinking light=bad. I`m using my charge and play cable at the same time, but I`ve done that alot before without this issue. I AM ANGRY. Thanks guys and/or gals. I`ll try and forget about this so for now so at least I can actually sleep for a few hours.
1965  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Xbox 360 Wireless controller/system? issues arise...or something. Plz help. on: April 24, 2007, 04:58:21 AM

Thanks man. Sorry it took so long to reply, I`ve been a wee bit busy recently. I thought at first when you said take the batteries out for a while, I thought i didn`t do that. But, after thinking I do remembering doing that because I had to take the batteries out to charge them when I tried making sure that the batteries were fully charged. But thanks anyway icon_wink. Anyone else got any ideas on this, and has anyone ever heard of the wifi receiver going bad on a 360 or similar thing? I haven`t. But, I`m sure there are plenty of things I`ve never heard of nod. Thanks again. I`ll probably check back here and on the web tomarrow, and if nothing I guess exchange here we come.
1966  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / ACK!!! I swapped out my 360 twice today and guess what!?! on: April 23, 2007, 08:37:27 AM
I`ll get all of the important stuff right out of the way and try to make this as simple as it needs to be.
Every once and a while my wireless controller needs to be synced up with the system again. I`m not sure if I bump that little button on the controller (the one that would sync it up) and then it gets loopy, or sometimes it seems to do this if I don`t hold the guide button down long enough to turn the system on. The controller goes on but not the system. At this point I would just turn the system on and then turn the controller on and it would be all good( not needed to be re-sync up). Everything would be in sync. Well sometimes I would have to take the battery out of the controller and do the same as above and in addition to this I would SOMETIMES have to re-sync it up. After that, all good. So not a biggie at all, until now.

I was playing Vegas the other night online and I get the "every once in a while Vegas MP lockup" as I call it Roll Eyes Then I go to power up the system again and I press the guide button, and the controller turns on, then the system like usual at this point. Then I notice the controller isn`t sync up. Well, it was 3am on a Friday so maybe I didn`t notice that being weird at the time because of that, but...Like I said above, in the past when something wasn`t sync up, there was nothing. I`d press the button to turn on the system and instanty notice that it wasn`t sync up because the system would NOT turn on and I`d go from there. Well, in this case if I turn on the controller it WILL turn the system on, but it will NOT sync up. saywhat Also when I shut off the system it shuts off the controllers...How can this happen if it isn`t sync up??? I also tried my other controller (wireless too) with the same results! I made sure my batteries are fully charges and good and they are. I called 18004myxbox and the "tech" read me the instructions for the controller, after I told him this stuff. If it was just the one controller then maybe...but both??? Hmmm...In addition to that I wouldn`t think that the lockup made this happen, rather it was just a big co-wink-e-dink eek It never has in the past. Any ideas there too?
So, any ideas? I REALLY don`t want to exchange my system via my EB warranty for alot of reasons. But I obviously will in order to get this resolved. If I do swap it out, should I look for one with a certain dvd drive, or should anyone be fine? The orginal Xbox had issues like this I know of, but with Xbox 360 I`ve heard very little on this, and that`s after I looked around a bit. And most of what I heard was "kiddie talk" judging by what I read, not facts.  Any ideas on that too?
Anyone ever hear of anything like this? Well, in the next day or two if I can`t get to the bottom of this I guess that`s what I will do...and then have to pay 50 more bucks to keep it covered again (which I will). Please.Help.Me. Thanks guys and gals. nod

Thanks guys! I`m wiping the HDD of OB stuff and DLing all BUT SI, and making a new character and I`m going to focus on that for a awhile. I still need to finish the main quest line and lots of other stuff first ninja.
1972  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Oblivion/Shivering Isles question for kathade or anyone who knows!:) on: April 15, 2007, 11:40:20 PM

Quote from: Destructor on April 15, 2007, 03:09:40 AM

The bug is caused by a script that runs haywire in SI. If you don't have SI installed, you'll be fine.

That said - you'll still need to play for a LOT of hours in order to experience this bug. I believe the estimates started in the 150 hour range.

And I'm not even sure if it affects the 360 version. It definitely hit the PC one.

So you`re saying I`d be fine doing what I said? I REALLY don`t want to start a new character just to find I didn`t avoid the bug. Thanks icon_wink
1973  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Oblivion/Shivering Isles question for kathade or anyone who knows!:) on: April 14, 2007, 10:38:55 PM

Since I`m not sure if the 360 version is affected by this BIG BUG for Shivering Isles. I was thinking of starting a new character and just finishing the main quest and and the main land quests and whatnot+the DLC(aside from SI at this time) and then when they patch SI 360 or know for sure that the bug isn`t on the 360, continue on and DL SI again. So, here`s the question...if I wiped off all of my Oblivion stuff off of the HDD, and didn`t DL SI for now, would I still have the bug? I though that would wipe everything off, including patches, but my game did not need to be repatched after wiping the OB stuff off of the HDD. It says it`s v1.2, which is the newest version. I guess my point is, since some stuff still lingered on the system (patches whatnot) would I encounter this bug from SI again. Or if I just don`t DL it now, would I be safe?

Thanks for dealing with my  saywhat

ninja The title says it all. I`m doing a clean install and I simply can`t find service pack 2 for xp home anymore...I found it`s main page ect. I found lots of info on it etc. But I can`t get it to the download process. I just loops me back around in a crazy circle of menus. Oh follow this...then follow this link. Ack, I`m back to where I started again! saywhat So if someone can provide the EXACT LINK for it icon_wink, I`d love that. Windows XP Home is what I have. Opps, I already said that. Thanks! nod

And yes I`ve tried via windows updates and other ways also. Lots of looking has been done.
1975  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [360] Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 Impressions on: March 26, 2007, 06:20:55 AM

Simple enough for me. I really didn`t care for GRAW 1, go figure...but I`m loving GRAW 2 in all game modes so far.  The single player game is amazing. And between the COOP and the VS. modes this game is gonna last. To touch on the Vegas VS. GRAW 2 thingy Tongue, It`s a close one that`s for sure. RB6: Vegas was also one of my favorites on the system. Both good fun that`s for sure.

1977  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Oblivion Xbox 360: Wierdness, need help! Don`t just peak, but help!!!:) on: March 14, 2007, 09:11:52 PM
Ok here`s the deal. I`ve been playing Oblivion for months now and I have a Lvl. 26 Character and almost 100 hours on the clock. I decided to get the DLC for it and make a new character and when the new expansion comes out just keep going. Well, I don`t know if I`m dumb or something is wrong. So bare with me nod.

After the DLC it seems that *maybe* the game is more buggy ( ie falling through the ground once, a npc walking in the sky etc.). Not bad, but maybe more of that. Is that my paranoia(and made up in my head retard) or is that common? Also, since then I`ve noticed that some of the skill trainers only sometimes offer training...I didn`t think I ever noticed that in the other 100ish hours with my other character. Sometimes they will offer it, and then boom! Turn around and try again and they don`t. There might be a pattern to it(like maybe once the dude offered it during the day but not during his bedtime hours) , but then the other guy just simply offered when he was in the field, then simply did not anymore. Is that right? If not any ideas how to get rid of this bug or whatnot? I`d make one more char if it was a fix, but...Fill me in, am I crazy or the game bugged here?

And here`s just a couple other questions or so. If I had a char ,then got the current DLC (all of it) could I use it for that Char.and just continue or did/do I have to make a new char? Also with the new expansion you can use an existing char or make a new one right? Thanks a bunch!

I mean it!!! nod Tongue

I love it. I just absolutely love GoW. It is far and away the best looking game on any platform (including PC), period. The single player plays like a dream. It is ultra-refined, super smooth, and plays like an incredibly frantic, visceral, cover and shoot action horror/thriller doohickey. The multiplayer is equally polished, equally fun, and I seriously can play it for 2 hours and have it feel like 15 minutes. To write out my full impressions would be to write a full review-but suffice it to say that this is the next-generation killer app for action games, period, and you SHOULD own it.

Bingo!!! nod It`s not perfect, but DAMN close. It has some "issues", if you wanna call them that...but I feel like I`m nitpicking if I say anything Tongue. Very happy both online and offline. I`ve put about 20 hours into this since Wednesday...not the usual for me. GoW thumbsup!
