You know what's being ignored by all reviewers? The possibility of additional items etc. unlocked via wi-fi.

Nintendo stated back at the TGS that things like this were possible and will happen. I am all for new stuff because of online play!

Wow. No crap, good point. I don`t have wi-fi at home YET, but I will soon and that looks pretty interesting. Downloading stuff into it via the phone. I wonder why reviewers have not mentioned it yet. Hmm.
1924  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / BF2 and punkbuster! on: December 07, 2005, 08:27:24 AM
Well, I haven`t played bf2 much recently since the last patch. I go to play last night and bam, i get kicked.  My punk buster is outdated...Didn`t that used to be updated automatically, or shouldn`t it be? Anywho I was tired and just went to bed. Well, now I forget where it told me to look for the manual update. Any ideas? And is there anything special I need to know?
 Thanks in advance!

Yet when you compare everything side by side on the DS and PSP, the PSP is a clear winner. From graphics, to online web browsing, listening to mp3s, watching movies, playing games online, and some decent games you'll never see with nintendo. (Battlefront 2, Battlefield 2, GTA, etc.)
Had them both at one point and after seeing the graphics on the PSP (yeah I'm a graphics whore) compared to the DS, I just coudn't go back to the DS ever again, and ended up trading it.

I compared side by side and...I kept the DS and got rid of the PSP. And, get this...I`m getting a 2nd DS for the wife.
The PSP was/is a buggy handheld that tried to do too much, and didn`t do much of it that good IMHO. I do admit the graphics are better on the psp. But that`s it. I don`t want to read on the internet on my handheld.

My PC is right down the hallway...And loading screens... UG!!! I never was fussy about loading screens but, sheesh the PSP changed that. Lots of waiting.

It`s not a bad system and it will have some good games, but the key word is will. I just found it overpriced, buggy and aside from it`s graphics, lackluster. Metoes ownes lumines, MK:DS ownes ridge racer, and so on and so on. Nintendogs is a good title too.

It`s NOT bad to try different things. The DS is doing that really well, and I`m assuming the REV will too. Before the DS came out (just about a year ago) the best handheld graphics were GBA... The psp does have the best graphics, but come on. Mario 64 on a handheld blew me away last year and MK:DS blew me away this year. The DS may not have the psp`s graphic ability, but it`s not too shabby either.

I just know why people don`t  like ANYTHING new. Oh, well. To each his/her own.

Did I miss something...I usually do. I thought you had a PSP until I read this...

Holy shit!

Great game. I just played for about 2-3 hours-ish and wow!!! I like it alot more than the cube version and I loved that version. The typing is WAY easier, I`ll toast to that  . I like the "round" look and feel to the landscape. Lots of new fun things added to the good old AC GC formula. So far, this one is WAY thumbs for me!

I think Nintendo's perfectly okay with MS and Sony duking it out like hell for SUPREMACY with the hardcore gamers, while they satisfy an entirely untapped market.

The question is whether that untapped market is inclusive of gamers or not.  I shudder when I hear Miyamoto talk about how games are too hard or we start waving a remote control around as a controller.  Don't get me wrong, the Rev and it's controller could be very cool - the question is will it be used for mass-audience Eye Toy type games or will it be used for games that hardcore gamers are interested in.

I can very easily see a Revolution that sells lots of systems to people who don't game right now and that has zero games that interest me on it.

I kinda though the same about the DS when they announced it too. I got one on launch day, and LOVE it.

And yeah - it's going to be like digital crack to me.  Can't wait!

I have a CRT, it ways a TON, but you can get them at good prices and the image is great.

Tell me about it.  I bought a delicious 34" CRT and it weighs in at over 160 pounds (plus 25 for packaging).  Hell of a picture but damn if I didn't almost kill myself getting it in my house and set up.  I actually had my neighbor and her sister help me.  Combined they don't weigh 200 pounds but they are hellcats.  They were more determined to get this thing in and hooked up than I was.

My friend saw mine and wanted one, but then I reminded him that he lives in a third floor apartment. For that I reccomend an LCD or plasma, which is why I'm watching this thread closely.

Ready for this...................I love in a third floor apartment. ICK!!!  I`m not moving for awhile, heh...still though

I've determined time doesn't move any faster, it's my memory that gets progressively worse. As I get older, I lose bigger and bigger chunks of memory, so when I paste it all together in my head, the past year accumulates to about a month worth of time. It's the poor man's time travel!
I have goats that old.

OMG, some funny stuff here!

And Harpua, re: the original post:
Already December. WTF? Wow, time does move faster as I get older. If it keep the acceleration at this rate, I`m screwed. heh. Anyone else REALLY feeling this lately?

My sense is that - YES, time is moving faster.  The real problem though, is that I'm also moving slower... so it's definitely an "effect  to the Nth power" - sorry Nth - had to use your name for a minute - oops , that flew by too!

Lol. Good responses! Well, I`ll be...ready for this...(I`m not)...30 in just 2 months  !!! Wow!
Does time move faster because of day to day repetition? Any other ideas on that?

Metroid pinball, warioware twisted, metoes, Mario kart, nintendogs. I own them all, and they all rock!

In fact, I got rid of my PSP. It NEVER was getting played. And with all the upcoming releases on the DS, I have not and I`m assuming will not miss the psp much if at all.

I used to play a lot but haven't played much since the old server I played on for years died. It died a bit before CS:S came out and had a semi revival but never recovered as most of use moved to other games or new servers but not just 1 server.

I like playing with the same group and not just totally random people. I played a bit of CS:S on another server I liked but havent played in months. If I play a multi FPS lately I've mainly been playing Coop (JoinOps or Raven Shield).

I wouldnt mind playing a few rounds again though.

When is good for you? I`m all CS:S right now!  :?  It got me again.

I agree though, I played on the same server for YEARS with the same people with beta 3ish through the release of cs:s. It`s great to play this game with the same people day in and day out. A way better experience than random servers. But, i`ve been suprisingly interested in finding a decent server that is well populated to settle in to once again.

I played from beta 3 to that release i think was 1.0. I got tired of all the cheating and it got kinda boring. I was always number 1 or 2 and never below 4th place. So I left. Over the years since Ive gone back for a few rounds..even CS:S but two things keep me from enjoying it like I did.

1. Its still filled with jerks and cheaters and people who bitch STILL if you're bad or good.

2. I seem to suck now. I get killed from nowhere, around corners, hell I could die in an enclosed room and not know who shot me or from where.

I agree with ALL of the negative. I`ve played since beta 2 or 3, can`t remember  . Still, it is fun!

I can`t sleep, anyone on? After my steam and its game are updated, ill pop back. If anyone wants to join me...?

I don`t know that much about business, or do I care THAT much. BUT... Simply put, Microsoft isn`t really in a bad place at all, from my view that is.
There is a HUGE demand for the new system, quite a few good games for it on day one and many more coming. The systems will be on store shelves soon enough. I just saw that gamespot is getting their second shipment.
The defects are just that. Day one defects. You buy a warranty for that sort of thing and it =peace of mind. These defect numbers will only go down from here.
Last but not least, Ill still get one in a few months when I can swing the dough for one  .
