I wish you had had more apt descriptors for the ratings. I gave this game a 5 for: 1. blatant lies and misleading marketing regarding multiplayer formats. 2. Lag, connection, and matchmaking issues online. 3. Badly designed and developed AI and stealth system that has super sensitive and super aware guard AI that triggers alarms over a fart, secondary objectives that must be completed to get all the gadgets and thus making the player suffer through the bad AI, and UbiSoft Shanghai.

Wow, Calvin it`s always you I post after...and to say the least...we disagree nod.

I agree with all the positive stuff said here, there`s not reason to retype it. And as far as negative stuff. The MP could have a better system in place, but it`s not horrid IMHO. GRAW was freaking WAY worse. Not much to conplain about from me I guess with this one.  icon_biggrin  So it`s a solid 9 from me!
1882  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: 360 N00bz Journal- Updated 22/Oct/06 on: October 26, 2006, 09:26:24 PM
Ok, to clear some things up. Tongue

When you turn off the 360 via the wireless controller  while charging it using the plug and play charge kit...if the controller is near done charging it just goes off. Even if the light was still just red right before you turned the stuff off. Other than that the system will continue to stay on until the charging is done. Well, the system isn`t fully on, but the power supply and fan and what else is needed for charging remains on.

This was the case on both of my systems and both controllers. nod

And since my system isn`t loud really at all. The noise never bugs me, even during charging while watching TV, and I sit only afew feet from the 360.
1883  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: ACK!!! What should I buy?!? on: October 26, 2006, 10:22:50 AM

Lol. I couldn`t find the Demo either. Sorry for misleading if I did so. I`m thinking GoW, then CoD3, then maybe...RB6 Vegas...Only time will tell, and not much at that icon_biggrin.

The options of 720p and 1080i and of course the lesser options are enough options for me.  thumbsup
1885  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [360] Console Noise Levels on: October 26, 2006, 10:11:01 AM

Haven`t checked the "born" date icon_lol, but I`ve had mine for 2 or so months. I got one, and it was acting funny so I swapped it out before too much time ran out on my EB warranty so I didn`t have to play 40 bucks to do so and this one is good to go. Oh, you asked a question...sorry Tongue Both of these systems have made "minimal" noise while just at the dashboard, and then just the swirling noise when a disk is spinning. Definately what I would think as "normal". I`ve had loud PCs, original Xboxs etc before. And even compared to my pretty quiet PC, the 360 is pretty quiet.
1886  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: SC:DA is good fun so far! on: October 26, 2006, 09:59:18 AM
After some more time, and an update for the MP lag (I think), I`m really happy with this one. It definately deserves to be in the Spinter Cell series. For me, I played CT in 480p on my Xbox. This one is being played in 720p on my 360 and there is definately a difference. It`s not like the visual leap from most xbox games to 360 games ,but CT was a looker on the original Xbox, that`s for sure. Not huge, but it`s there, and I like it! And some stuff just could NOT be done on the original Xbox at all...Weather effects are great, same for water, steam etc. I`m playing it before and after Oblivion, PGR3, Condemned etc. and it doesn`t look bad, at all.

And as far as gameplay goes, did it reinvent the wheel? No. Did it refine it? Yep. I`m loving the stuff they added to this one. I don`t really understand the hate for PT, despite the checkpoints being FAR apart and the stuff in between being VERY hard at some points. But, in CT and DA, you can save whereever you want. Problem solved in my book.
1887  Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / My goodies for sale. Games and other stuff... on: October 23, 2006, 09:00:58 PM
I`m still just looking to get rid of some random stuff in the closet so...here we go...

 PC Games:

 Cod 2 (case and instuctions)CDs
 Thief:DS (same  as ^)CDs
F.E.A.R. ( instructions and paper sleeves the disks came in Roll Eyes )CDs
 BF2 ( Instructions and case)DVD

I have a Original XBox HD cable that I`ll let go easily also. I have zero need for it anymore.

There might be some other things once I look a little closer, but I know that the stuff I mentioned is all ready to go and in great shape and I`m willing to see what this stuff is worth to you if anyone is interested. Thanks.

1889  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / ACK!!! What should I buy?!? on: October 23, 2006, 08:53:19 PM
I didn`t notice ALL the freaking good games come out at the same time on the 360 soon. COD3, GoW, RB6 Vegas...I`m probably missing something...I`m sure. I think those titles I mentioned are the same day, or really close together.

Anyone have any advice icon_lol. Oh, and BTW did anyone play the RB6 Vegas demo on Live!? I`m gonna check it out soon enough.

I already preordered GoW, but depending on how everything gets reviewed ...:icon_confused:.
1890  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: SC:DA is good fun so far! on: October 23, 2006, 09:40:28 AM

I would say your impressions are the COMPLETE eek!!! opposite as mine icon_surprised. Hehe. To each his own. I`m loving the streamlined MP and the new stuff they did add. I never read up on it alot as far as being lied to so. I did read reviews and previews and I thought it was pretty clear what I was getting. And while the SP is similar to PT , in some regards. It`s WAY better honestly. it`s way better than CT IMHO. It`s not just the leap from PT to CT. Like I said to each his own icon_wink.
1891  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: SC:DA is good fun so far! on: October 23, 2006, 08:39:37 AM

Great game still. I`m only really getting into the SP now, and it is about what I would expect and then some. Good stuff. I`ve been REALLY hooked on the MP. One question though, IGN said there was a update for it at launch. Mine didn`t update nor did others I spoke to. Any ideas?

Sorry about the lack of posting. I`ve been busy...with some things...and...SC:DA! nod

So far the single and MP games both are very entertaining. I`ve no crashes, but it was laggy at first. It seems to have gotten better with more time after Live! came back up. I just played tonight and the games were all very smooth. I also played a bit more SP. Good stuff there too.
1894  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: SC:DA is good fun so far! on: October 18, 2006, 08:39:52 PM

Gamespot review- 8.5.

Sounds pretty good but it seems more Pandora Tomorrow vice Chaos Theory (ie treading water vice a leap forward).  Which is fine- I really liked Pandora Tomorrow but it sounds like we might have to wait until next time out for another leap forward.

GS mentions the poor framerate on occasion which really bugs me.  By most accounts it's not a huge step up graphically from CT (indeed I think it's the same engine) so there is really no excuse for sub-30 fps performance IMO.

Well, when CT came out they did say that the engine was designed from the ground up for the 360, and then scaled back for CT on the original Xbox. That`s not to say it`s a ugly game at all. Far from it. Quite stunning actually.

And the framerate seems fine to me so far, maybe it dips and that really shouldn`t happen, but it doesn`t get bad at all from my experience so far. Live! is up and I`m getting ready to play some MP. I freaking loved the Mp demo!
1896  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / SC:DA is good fun so far! on: October 18, 2006, 10:12:42 AM

That`s simply it. I played the single player for a little while tonight and since Live! was down until just recently no MP for me until tomarrow crybaby. Overall I like the changes they made to the gameplay. It`s still good old SC, just better. The graphics, sound, and all of the presentation is amazing. The animation is super smooth from what I`ve seen. Well, I need to sleep so I can get my shit done early tomarrow, uhhh...today, rather...and sit my ass back down and play some more SP, then some MP. Anyone else got this yet?

Anywho, some of you folks where rather helpful a bit back. I have a few questions for you still, though :slywink:. I have a WRT54GS with speedbooster! and I`m running into an issue still. Everything but my source stuff is running well so I don`t want to tinker with much. But, my source stuff sucks and takes forever to join a game since I got this router set up. Once I`m in, it`s all cool, but wow. It can take a bit sometimes. So what ports do I need to open and how is that done? Or is something else needed to be done? Thanks a bunch!

Ok, it looks like the 360 HATED those old cd-rs. After more music was put on and "tested", so far so good. And I "tested" quite a bit, so...So I guess watch out while putting some crappy cdrs on your 360 :icon_eek: And I`m loving the router so far as well, the new one that is Tongue.
1900  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Just recently got a 360 and I need some help. Plz help me! New issue!!! on: September 06, 2006, 08:53:25 AM

Hehe. Miscommunication icon_lol. The router is GREAT, no issues with it now. The current issue is when I "ripped" music on the HDD and played it. It locked up the system in PGR3 and in the dashboard. Since I deleted the music, it *seems* fine. I haven`t had lots of time to be on recently, so only time will prove. I did buy the warranty from EB, and it`s only been a few weeks since I got it. Just everything else seems to working great. The CDs I "ripped" on the 360 were old, kinda crappy cdrs, but the original xbox never had an issue with that, to my knowledge. Could that be it? Or the Harddrive? Just curious. I wanna get this squared away soon that`s all. I did grab that memory card just in case like I said... disgust

I grabbed a linksys WRT54GS and with the 360, the DS and the PC...everything but gaming on the PC so far...it works great. But when I go to play CS:S, and I only got this far, it doesn`t show anyones name in the list of players on a server and it shows my ping at 2000 :icon_sad:. I`m assuming I need to open ports :icon_confused:, but no idea what and where. I only have hl2 games on here with WoW at the time. Any ideas? And I`d assume since the other things work fine they don`t need anything opened? Thanks!

Here`s the deal now. I just got a linksys router, the wrt54gc, er or something like that :slywink:. It works great for my DS, 360 and PC so far. But, and this happened before the router so it`s not the issue, my dashboard and my pgr3 were locking up. It also said it couldn`t play some of my music... After I deleted all of the music it hasn`t done it since  paranoid. I "ripped" ,as the dashboard calls it, some music onto it off of some old cd-r stuff. They myight be crappy but...do you think it is the disks, or maybe the system or the harddrive? It was fine until I put on the music is seems, and since I took it off it seems fine paranoid. Any ideas. I picked up a memory card to be safe.

1914  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Just recently got a 360 and I need some help. Plz help me! on: August 31, 2006, 08:47:05 PM
Ok, once more...sorry about the long time in between posts. Since I have no working router setup I have to do the switchy plug thing disgust, and since Oblivion ABSOLUTELY ROCKS!!! thumbsup nod Tongue, I haven`t been using the PC much recently (my poor WOW account icon_frown). But...I did try all of the above listed and still no dice. So I called tech for DLINK, and get this. Even though it was supported when I bought and worked with the original XBox, the DI-604, my revision at least, is no longer supported for Xbox Live!, and they pulled the firmware updates of off their website for it. So..............................I did want a wireless router for my DS anyways. I was thinking of just grabbing one of those and continuing to run my PC and console wired and the DS (obviously) wirelessly. Any suggestions? I *might* go out tonight and look and/or pick one up. So, let me have it. ? ? ?

And, BTW I`m looking at the linksys models as we speak. I obviously want this to work for the DS and Live!

Connect your 360 directly to your modem, ie, bypass your router entirely.

Try playing then.  If it doesn't work, it's a problem with some combination of your modem, your 360, your ISP, and/or XBox Live.

If it works, well, the 360 hates your router.

My brother's 360 is connected to a router which serves two other computers on top of the 360.  Chromehounds will sometimes thrash and whine and cause drops from XBL, but it's not in any kind of pattern or frequency that would suggest a problem.

Sorry I took so long to respond. You nailed it. I removed the router out of the picture and all good! icon_biggrin So, I wonder if that is the same fix for you Calvin. What`s your setup like? I`ll check back sooner this time, and thx for the help guys. I thought it might be that but since the router is on the xbox360 compatible list...and it worked fine with my original xbox... saywhat. So who knows. I`m looking into updating my router too, even though the firmware updates disappeared from dlinks site...any ideas there?

Ok, here`s the deal. I got a 360 just a few days ago with graw and a charge and play kit and the warranty icon_wink. I`m just running a wired connection through my router to the 360. Everything seems all good ASIDE from graw dropping me from Live! everytime I go to play the MP. I thought, it did it in the dashboard too, but the more I think about it, I think it`s only dropped me in the MP game (i think icon_lol). It will say "lost connection from xbox Live!" or something like that. Then afterwards it just connects back right up to Live! saywhat I have no other games to test. But the tests all pass on the network test thingy. The tech support I spoke with had me set up a dmz on my router for just the 360, but no such luck. I can download the hell out of demos etc all fine (infact I got the dead rising demo and it seemed very fast), but the MP in this game...

So, any ideas? Anyone have issues like this? I`m sure I`m forgetting some details, but it`s late so... I`ll check back soon enough to see what you guys think and I`m sure I`ll remember some details. Thanks.
