1841  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Can anyone answer this? Resolution related. on: February 15, 2005, 04:46:15 AM
I have a 3.0 ghz p4, 1024mb ddr, 6800gt 256mb, sb audigy2, etc. I`ve always ran 1024x768x32bit@85hz(sp?) , well not always but recently with this setup. I use some fsaa etc. But I always want to run higher resolution, but I like to have the same res/refresh rate for games and desktop etc. Here`s the question, what`s a resolution that popular and most if not all games support it? That`s why I stick with this. Every single game I`ve played in the last 5 years support this res. If i don`t stick with the same res, I have to always re-center the image on the monitor, and I`m lazy  . And obviously I don`t wan to go to high, cuz then when something comes out more taxing...I`ll have to readjust everything. I know that a wierd request/question...but nevertheless does anyone have any ideas/answers? Thanks.
1842  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / @#$%&@#$% Freaking ATI! I want my HL2 as promised! on: February 15, 2005, 04:30:26 AM
Well seriously though...I`ll play both sides here. There`s plenty of I hate/love steam threads around so I won`t do that. I`m sure some people have issues with steam just like anything else out there. I`m sure some people don`t, just like anything else out there. Steam isn`t perfect, it`s nice to have easy patching through it but it is still cumbersome IMHO, but it certaintly NOT the devil like some make it sound. Have you used steam? If not, how do YOU know what it`s like? I`d hate for someone to miss a game like this, because of these reasons...Game this good only come out every few years. I`d think about it before you do it, that`s all. I`m certainly not going to try and change your mind. But I would think more about it, since you have to wait anyways. Just my opinion, Later.
1843  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Problem with my Xbox, Optical out and my receiver, any ideas on: February 15, 2005, 04:22:09 AM
Nice one  . I`ve done similar things, even worse. I shall not speak of them.
1844  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Wario Ware touched (NDS). Impressions on: February 15, 2005, 03:56:28 AM
One more review is up. http://gba.gamespy.com/nintendo-ds/wario-ware-ds/587485p1.html 4.5 outta 5 is good stuff!

Pros
It's more WarioWare!; seriously, do you know how addictive these games are?
Cons
Slightly fewer microgames than the original; the unlockable goodies are kinda lame.

The WarioWare series is really the ideal portable game -- they're incredibly easy to pick up and play for two minutes, but engrossing enough to keep you occupied for hours.

I`m even more sold!

Did anyone watch tonights episode??? Holy shit. Best time I`ve ever spend in front of a TV, other than video games  .

As long as Michael "No one else will hire me since Ed went off the air" Ian Black is part of those VH1 retrospective shows, I refuse to watch.  I don't think there is a less-amusing "comedian" (and I use that term loosely) alive.  I've never seen anyone so smugly impressed with their own cleverness.

I`m wasn`t really a fan of him, let`s say. But he did grow on me. SOme things he says are funny. For me at least.
1847  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / BEST.WEEK.EVER. on: February 15, 2005, 03:46:56 AM
LOL. I guess that would sound confusing if you didn`t know it was a show and that was the title. It`s on friday at 11pm I think on vh1. They also reair it all through the week. Seriously... if you watch you WILL like it. Well , you sure as hell should  .
1848  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Brother in arms is almost done! 1 item left. That`s it! on: February 15, 2005, 03:44:02 AM
LOL rage we are back to 78 items I believe  . BTW, are you grabbing this on XBOX or PC? If you aregrabbing the xbox one and you have Live! and if this turn sout good...we`ll have to play some MP stuff. My gamertag is Harpua3. Later.

IGN gave it a 8.5 and gamespot gave it a7.5. There`s alot of glowing reviews of it out there. I`m still grabbing it. It`s like everything I expected.

Gamespot gave it a 7.2 actually, citing that the "touching" is repetitive and "boring" and the game is very short. "With the constant poking, dragging, and drawing these contests throws at you, it's easy to get good at them awfully fast. If you're cool under pressure, were any good at the previous WarioWare games, and are handy with a stylus, you'll get through the entire game in around an hour and a half."

I think I'll pass on this one.

I`m not trying to convince you about anything, and now that is out of the way  . Sorry you`re  correct about the 7.2 instead of 7.5 my bad. Not much of a difference IMHO though. Anywho...with the gba wario ware games I beat it really fast too,and I`ve had it for a year or more, and I still play it!!! ALOT!!!
Plus these guys over at gamespot are NUTS!!! Wario ware for gba pretty much was the same thing over and over again too. Press A, or press left then right and so on.
I agree it`s like tetris etc. you don`t quit when you beat it. It`s just fun to play over and over and over again.
I`m not usually thinking like this but ...gamespot seems to dislike two things, xbox and ds. For what reason I do not know( I could certainly guess though). I always look at gamerankings and go by that. Plus I have watched the movies for this game and it looks just like I`d imagine. And I`m assuming it will play just like that too. I`ll be grabbing this tomarrow if I can find it, I`ll post back when that happens. Later.
1850  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / ATI or Nvidia? on: February 14, 2005, 10:06:29 AM
Plus these geforce 6 cards are nice!!!
1851  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / ATI or Nvidia? on: February 14, 2005, 10:05:25 AM
I didn`t want to sound like I hate ATI, I certainly don`t. i had a 9800pro before this 6800gt...I liked both. But the switch across from ATI to Nvidia can go smooth and then not so smooth without a reinstall etc. Some people I`m sure would agree with both sides. I`ve seen both happen. Anywho...If you have and like nvidia and you wanna stick with it, that`s one less problem that *could* pop up. That`s all.
1852  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Just curious...are there any Phish/Deadheads around here? on: February 14, 2005, 10:00:36 AM

This show is easily one of my favorites. Anyone else out there interested in this show like I am. I don`t get it really. i`m not usually into pop culture stuff this much. But that show is damn fun to watch for some reason. I`m a huge fan of that doug benson guy and pretty much the majority of the people on there are funny. Good stuff indeed. Does anyone else just eat this show up like I do?

1857  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / canine teeth cleaning on: February 14, 2005, 05:09:30 AM
Our dog had some other issues recently but I won`t ever begin to get into this  , but seems to be doing really good recently biggrin . Hopefully this continues.
But anywho, we had our dogs teeth cleaned only because he was already getting something else done that required him to be put under. I`d ask the vet all kinds of questions just to be safe. Ask, ask, and ask more. It never hurts.

1866  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Metroid.... Pinball? on: February 11, 2005, 10:04:07 AM
I wouldn`t quite say this... "Wow, I'm glad I didn't buy a DS."

 At least I wouldn`t and don`t.
I have M64DS and it rocks. Next week wario ware is out. Another great title. Then there is animal crossing(SWEET!), lost in blue, Metroid, a few 3d zeldas I`m sure, viewtiful joe, etc, etc, etc. I don`t see what there is to be angry about.
I`d rather see someone try to do new things. Otherwise we just play the same game over and over again.

Noone seems to remember the ps2 launch games...icky.
1867  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Just curious...are there any Phish/Deadheads around here? on: February 11, 2005, 08:41:36 AM
Nice. I`ve probably seen Phish 15 times through the last 10-15 years. Not many  . Do you happen to play anything? Just curious. Later. BTW, thanks I`ll check out that stuff.
1868  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / OXM disk has some great demos thims month!!! on: February 11, 2005, 08:38:08 AM
Well, after just a quick testdrive they both are good. SC looks ALOT better than the last cs game I think. I think its 480p and it really is a step up from the last game. And the new gameplay stuff is really welcome. Random cool things about this game: New knife attack, New moves involving throwing people from below by grabbing their legs, Great new nightvision etc, co-op over live!, spy vs merc gameplay from SC:PT but with new gameplay additions etc. Good stuff.

And the UC2. I did like it but something made it feel kinda like an old PC game ot me, albiet with additions and great visuals. Something just seemed lacking...I don`t know maybe I`m just old and it`s too fast or something  . I plan on playing it a bit more still though, I`ll check it tomarrow when I`m less tired and see how it goes and report back  . Later.

I was just wondering. There seems to be a huge variety of people thast posted at gonegold and that currently post here. I figured there had to be a few  . If so, do you know any good place to grab shows of good quality? I haven`t looked into this for a long time and I`m just looking to get back into burning LOTS O MUSIC!  Later.

Go to www.gearboxsoftware.com and look up  , it will say blank number of items to be completed etc. I`m also burnt out on World war 2 games for a bit, BUT...This looks awesome. The reason why COD rocked on the PC and sucked on the Xbox and other consoles wasn`t because were burnt out on WWII games but rather the console games sucked. This is a cross between full spectrum warrior and COD. Look here http://xbox.ign.com/articles/579/579774p1.html, tell me that MP doesn`t look and sound great.

One more thing to consider is if you go from nvidia to nvidia I would assume your chances of running into issues would be less. Just thought I`s toss that out there  .

1880  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / LOST - 02/09/05 HOLY CRAP!!! on: February 10, 2005, 04:31:51 AM
Ok here`s the deal. My wife likes the show and I watch it will her from time to time. She fills in the gaps so I know what`s going on. My interest has grown in this show. But...I finally put my finger on what I don`t like about it. They really don`t ever give you any clues about what`s going on. Most shows like this leave alot of questions to be answered but they give you hints, even if they are false. Lost doesn`t really throw any bones. They don`t ever attemp to explain anything so far(IMO). For me, there really isn`t any incentive to watch because I`ll know I`ll be just as clueless at the end of this episode as last. That sums it up for me  .
