For anyone that was interested in Warrior's Lair (formerly known as Ruin), the upcoming hack and slash action RPG, you might not want to hold your breath.  Through some friends at the company (Idol Minds) I heard that Sony canned the project today and they had to layoff a bunch of people.

Bad news for Vita gamers, and worse news for those developers.    disgust

Great...the one RPG coming out for the Vita gets shitcanned.   icon_evil  If E3 doesn't bring some significant news on the Vita front, mine will be on Ebay shortly thereafter.
surely not good news, but I'm not sure I share the opinions of above. Im sticking with my "it's way too early to be that negative" about things with the vita. Most consoles don't have THAT many great games that early on...

Nope.  In my defense, I've been awake for about 30 hours, and spent 12 hours carrying a 35lb rucksack 21 miles around the city doing all kinds of ridiculous physcial tasks.  Reading comprehensions is not among my strong points right now.

Ah, so you're homeless and giving out BJs?

That was magically comical.slywink

Not really my cup of tea ( And also I don't need another game right now...) but it does look good. Also waiting to check out a few reviews.

Beat Half-Life 2 and Episode One this weekend. How sad that I take a break from one game (DE:HR) and blow through two other games.

I have a big issue with that. It's not a surprise considering my backlog...

Forgot to mention. Church street brewery. Decent beer and food but a hell of an atmosphere. It's in an old freaking church!!! Downtown pittsburg isn't really too bad. Some fun stuff to do. Srry I derailed this thread, I'll stop now;).
1807  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: St. Patrick's Day plans? on: March 16, 2012, 05:22:05 PM
Staying the hell away from the mobs of people. It's on a Saturday and it's going to be 70... Not going to see the parade, that's for sure. I like partying, but not in that environment... Too many novices out that day. So might just do kegs and eggs at 9am at my work... Then back to home!
1808  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 3/16/12 on: March 16, 2012, 05:18:22 PM
It's going to be another 70 degree weekend in cleveland in march!!! So during the day, setting up the patio!!! At night I'll try to plug away at my backlog... Prolly really just play kingdoms of amalur on ps3 and Rayman on vita.

I got this last night and wow! It is living, breathing art. Absolutely amazing so far. I've heard it's only 2 to 3 hrs long, but meant to be replayed. Fine with me!

I have to agree with Harpua, it's much too early to start predicting success or failure. I'm not sure why gamers have a tendency to label things failures so prematurely, as if a system not selling astronomical numbers automatically makes it a flop. Let's see what Sony has up its sleeves, they've got a wealth of phenomenal in-house teams that could be working on a killer app as we speak.

We have a winner!!! slywink

Therein lies the difference:  you think the launch lineup is incredible and it "blows you out of the water", while I (and others, I suspect) only find it mildly compelling.

yep, my big draw was Sheboygan 2: Dividend of Ten and that hasn't been as stellar as it could have been.  I can easily afford one, but what's the point of grabbing it for nothing?  now the Game Heaven presentation should have some potential, even if Vice City Nights was fake.

as for doom and gloom, it's a console launch, so it's going to be out there.   just accept it and have another 6 beers or so.

I will take you up on those beers. I work in a brewery, what do you expect!?!;) generally speaking, this console looks to be headed in a great direction. That is all.slywink

I think it is nearly comical that people are either A: disappointed with the launch lineup or B: are "doom n gloom" about the systems lifespan/ quality of games/ success etc. really!?! Are we that spoiled?

This thing has BLOWN me out of the water so far. That's the important part..."so far". If it starts out great, can't it only get better?

The vita is a beast. Also, it has answered the prayers of many. Six months ago people said they wanted to have a console experience on a handheld. Now in some circles, that is considered a bad thing... eek

Fucking funny stuff.

Rant over..

Therein lies the difference:  you think the launch lineup is incredible and it "blows you out of the water", while I (and others, I suspect) only find it mildly compelling.  I happened to be in a position where I could afford one at the moment, and purchased it mainly on the hope that there will be far better things to come.  There's no question the system is a beast, but without a library of great games, it's dead in the water...hence the wait-and-see approach from many gamers.

I guess my point was it is WAY too early to even have negative thoughts on these matters...

I have not.. Recently. I played a little bit of it right when it launched... Didn't really grab me. It probably is really cheap now though.. Also I've been playing alot of mariokart 7, wipeout 2048 and hotshots golf on Vita. I will still do cod if need be;). Especially the coop that I love and noone else does..

ME2 is so unpolished it's not funny. Embarrassingly bad bugs and glitches. Spelling errors, missing words, someone's head was backwards and glitching during a cut-scene were just the highlights so far.

The lady that wanted a 'skip combat' option? I'm kinda agreeing with her here.  icon_neutral

What platform? Ps3 version really isn't like that...at all..

I know this doesn't compete with me3 but, I'm still finishing 2!!! Anywho.. I'm confused. With this version can I also play it on my ps3? I knew I read that, but it this free version gimped? I'm fine with it either way, free is free;).

So I had to put my vita into a DMz to make wipeout work online. Everything else seems fine online with it. So a few questions.

If that address on my vita is in the dmz, is that address going to change and make the dmz no longer "valid",if you will?

Anything else I need to know about this sort of thing. I've been a pc gamer and console gamer for along while. I really never HAD to deal with this kind of thing. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Off to play some wipeout!
1833  Gaming / Portable Gaming & Apps / Re: [Vita] Hot Shots Golf on: February 29, 2012, 08:52:45 PM
This is the first hotshots I've played & im thrilled with it. Mp is fun. Tons of unlockables/ content. Just super fun. Another great launch title with harsh reviews. Don't get the vita launch title hate. Best launch lineup ever IMHO.

I just found this thread and browsed through it. Great idea. I need to start changing things drastically. I'm about to turn 36, I smoke A pack a day, drink roughly 6 beers a day, and eat like I want to die. I will not stop eating until all food is gone... Wow, I'm a loser.slywink funny part is, I'm all but 165lb... Beer belly not good though.

1838  Gaming / Portable Gaming & Apps / Re: Uncharted G.A. Reviewers a bit tough on this one? on: February 28, 2012, 05:36:27 PM
I also read that about hotshots. I freaking live that game as well so far. And you're right, knocking a game for it playing like its real life counterpart...

And after more uncharted, it's still pretty damn impressive!
1839  Gaming / Portable Gaming & Apps / Uncharted G.A. Reviewers a bit tough on this one? on: February 28, 2012, 05:49:38 AM
I always loved the uncharted series. Three really great games. So maybe I'm biased... Some reviews I've read on this are extremely beating it down. I'm three hrs in and I'm loving the hell out of it. Phenomenal graphics, great music score and sound design and the story and gameplay are solid. Anyone else confused by the negative reviews?
1840  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What are you buying this week? (02/27) on: February 27, 2012, 11:44:54 PM
Nothing. Absolutely nothing! I've literally purchased a 3ds with 4 games, a vita with four as well, countless ps3 games and a iMac in the last few months... If I buy anything this week it will be wife punch me in the face time...
