I justed wanted to you guys to know(you probably already do though) that compusas website isn`t very trustable. The website says the one store somewhat near me does have it, yet the guy on the phone said they do not  . I`m not going to drive all over the place in a snowstorm to save 12 bucks. I`m assuming they do have it, and the system just lags...but that`s chance I`m not going to take. Just wanted to give the heads up.

I want to move there. Fantasy land, that is.

I`m going to have less free time from now on, so I`ll slow down. I figure over the next few months I play my backlog and only pickup a few titles here an there. Or so I say... Seriously though, I`m going to slow down like I said and save up for next-gen console/s.

Wow, it's all screen. And it does make the DS look a little clunky. Props to the designers.

While I do think the PSP has a nice design and is small. Even with the DS having 2 screens, I still wouldn`t call it clunky  .

After days or weeks of seeing this post and seeing noone reply, I`ll chime in.
I just realised a few years ago everytime I bought a game(well, not everytime but...) my wife would go buy something from the gap or something else in the mall. Then we would go out to dinner etc. By the time we got home and I installed the game I realised we had spent...

 $50.00 game of some sort
$20-50.00ish on something else at the mall
 $25-50.00 dinner

Heh,  went out for a $50 game and spent 100 bucks...WTF?!? Heh. Needless to say she doesn`t go with me to pick up games anymore  . We can`t be spending money to feed and cloth her  .

But honestly, we have noticed that we are better off just avoiding the mall. The plaza stores are better, park closer, in and out faster, and you don`t spend money on "other" things as easy. For instance I`m going to the mall in a few minutes to pick up a game(alone  )and I`ve already decided to get a hot pretzel. Tongue  Like I said I try to not frequently go to the mall, but the plaza store doesn`t have what I want!

So, I`m curious...is this Rob and Amber from Survivor? I don`t (usually) watch either of these show. The amazing race is usually pretty entertaining though. BTW, when is it on? When I first say this post I though " amazing grace?, why are they posting about it?"... I need more sleep.

I`m heading out in the next hour to grab this. I`m trying to wait a bit to see if compusa gets it in. It`s on sale for 37.99 there compared to 49.99! The website says they have it for sale for delivary, but the two stores around here don`t have it yet. I`m assuming they do, and they just haven`t scanned the boxes and opened up thta stuff yet. I`ll tell you guys if I do infact grab it from compusa or not. Either way it`s fine, I certainly didn`t plan on getting it for 37.99, but that would be nice. Although the compusa is about 15 miles away and the EB is about 3 or 4 and it`s snowing like crazy outside. So I`ll see where I grab it from  .

BTW, here`s the linky to compusa http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=318452&pfp=SEARCH
It appears to in-store pickup only though. Fine by me, just wanted to let you guys know.

I`m grabbing it in a few hours. I won`t be able to play until later though frown . I`ll giev some impressions after I do play though, if I can tear myself away from it.
As far as teamxbox and Ign having inflated scores, I`ll agree with that sometimes to a degree. But, I`ve really never been mislead by any reviews. Sure maybe one review could be wrong, but more than one. I haven`t ever noticed that before. I know lots of words like Black and white will be thrown around here, but I loved that game! Plus, the early hands-on impressions have been great. Later.

9.5 Presentation
Overall it's a very convincing and exciting production. The perfect blend of history and fun.
9.0 Graphics
The look of the game is undeniably authentic. Character models are the high point here but the environments and effects are also amazing.
9.0 Sound
Very immersive. The chaos of the battlefield never seemed so near. Voice work is good but the actual dialogue is hit or miss.
9.5 Gameplay
The action is intense and engaging. You'll find the tactical elements are simple to use and are well integrated into the overall shooter format.
9.5 Lasting Appeal
The missions vary a little each time you play them and that's enough reason to try the campaign more than once. Multiplayer is a blast.
9.3 OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average) -IGN

Gameplay-9.5
Fantastic presentation, solid controls, and a story that rivals most motion pictures. The accuracy to the events and weapons provides an authentic feel that no other WWII game has managed. The multiplayer mode is a refreshing change from the typical deathmatches we see so often.

Graphics-9.2
Even with its framerate hiccups and few graphical anomalies, this is a beauty to play through. The soldier models are some of the most detailed to date and eerily lifelike.

Audio-9.3
The motion picture-like score complements the gameplay to perfection. The voice-acting is believable thanks to the edgy script. Turn up the 5.1 system because this is how a war game should sound.

Longevity-9.1
The single-player campaign should take you anywhere from 10-15 hours depending on the difficulty. There is plenty of incentive to play through at tougher levels with tons of unlockables. The multiplayer modes further extend the replay value.

Next-gen-9.1
While there have been many WWII FPS games before, none have managed to provide a more realistic representation than Brothers in Arms. The fresh multiplayer mode shows that FPS games aren’t just about deathmatches.
Overall 9.4-Teamxbox

that hospital lawsuit is a sad excuse for someone to try to milk a little more money out of the guy.  i don't see any way they could possibly hold him responsible for that woman's condition...she was in trouble no matter which room of the hospital they chose to keep her in.  now it sounds like the family is just trying to make some money off an unfortunate set of circumstances.

*cough* fanboi *cough*

Seriously though, I don't know how you can claim the PSP launch games are mostly shit. I think this is one of the most impressive launch lineups for a system, handheld or not, ever.

Compare it with the launch lineup of the DS....now that was mostly shit. I bought the DS, not for DS games (since there are basicly none that interest me at all right now) but for the GBA games.

They are all mostly shit imho. There`s alot of them...I won`t deny that. It`s the quality I think that will be lacking.

Quote from: "Cleric7"
I think, in the end, quality software is going to be the deciding factor (at least for us gamers  smile )

I bought a DS at launch and have tried most of the games that have come out for it. Out of those I would say that only Zoo Keeper is a great title, with Touched and Mario having their moments (well, the mini-games in Mario anyways) That's a pretty underwhelming start--and this from someone who really wanted it to succeed right out of the gate. Looking to the future, there are a few titles like Advance Wars, Animal Crossing and Pokemon (NOT Pokemon Dash -- a proper Pokemon RPG!)  that are promising, but I get the distinct feeling that this will be another Nintendo platform where we wait for months in between quality games.

The PSP, on the other hand, has a very impressive lineup of games coming. We'll have to wait on reviews for many of the launch titles (I am particularly leery of the EA sports titles), but I'd be willing to bet that there will be at least a half dozen or so of the 24 launch titles that score in the 80-90+ range (Ridge Racer and Lumines being my top picks) After launch, the PSP has a VERY impressive lineup of games coming: Grand Theft Auto, Gran Turismo, Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy (down the road) and a slew of others. I don't think it will be valid to say that the PSP doesn't have the "genre of game I like", because it will have plenty of games of every genre!!

And let me tell you, just wait til you see that screen!!!   biggrin

I`ve played a PSP(at EB) it really just doesn`t do anything for me. I have a cube, xbox, pc and ds. If you noticed I don`t have a ps2. Most of the psp games are similar to what`s on the ps2. And I guess that`s just not my cup of tea.
And seriously those launch games DO NOT impress me. Metal great solid card game...I don`t like metal gear solid(minus the 1st one) and while the games graphics are good, it just doesn`t look fun for me at least. The racers don`t look that good either, other than gt mobile. And that is really not my kind of a racing game. And then the other stuff looks blah.
I`m not saying it`s a bad system...but for the price it`s going for, and the fact that I don`t want a mp3 players, movie players and moving parts on a handheld gaming machine...I just don`t see why many people are going nuts over it.
I like innovation. The touch screen and the duel screens are really interesting. There is SO much potention here it`s crazy. I think even if most of it never sees the light, we`ll still see great amounts of new, fresh ideas. Add in my backlog of gba games playable on the machine and I was sold.
