Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / What games are everyone getting at launch for the PSP?

I really didn`t want a psp until recently. Now I really want it! I`m starting to think people really want to get their hopes up, just to be lets down. There is a point to this, believe it or not...
Halo 2 did NOT suck, it could have been better, but it was a great game. Mainly the multiplayer. Doom 3 did NOT suck. Id said doom3 will be a retelling of the original. WTF was it? A retelling of the original. Id didn`t claim it to be the next coming, YOU did!!! The DS rocks, don`t let anyone else tell you otherwise. It`s a new system, it will have good games. Give it some freaking time!!! Oh, well it`s been out, what...4-5 months, and boohoo, where`s all my games! And here we go with the PSP, "this game sucks, then this must too, I hate psp I don`t want one!!!!" I see people go from super happy to buy something, to "I`ll get something else cuz this sucks" direction in days, maybe even hours or minutes.
This really has nothing to do with anyone in specific, really it doesn`t. And in contrast to other forums, you guys are level headed  ... But, don`t hype stuff up to super crazy levels, just to burst your bubble if it isn`t perfect.
More on topic. I was in EB today and grabbed a flyer that says, trade in 3 xbox or ps2 games and get one of these free. There`s like 6 or 9 psp games to pick from. Too bad I already cleared out my selection just a week or two ago... . Maybe I`ll look through my collection again...
Don`t mind me. I quit smoking...11 months ago  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I have a few more questions for you guys. Does the psp connect to the pc via a normal usb cable? Or is something special required? What other options do I have as far as connecting to the internet, other than buying a whole wireless setup. I have a wired router, would a wireless entrypoint do the job? I`ve heard you can connect to your pc to use you internet connection for mp games etc, if you don`t have any wireless stuff. Is that true? Thanks again!

Yeah, I`ve witnessed this game in motion and, it didnt impress me at all. The graphics aren`t bad, just the gameplay appears to be  . I know of some people that love it though, go figure.
I`m looking at wipeout pure and untold legends. I think I`m going to grab probably just one...I`m not sure which yet though.
I played wipeout pure for a few minutes today at EB. It was fun. Spectatular graphics combined with really fast smooth gameplay. I`m thinking I`ll go this route. My wife would probably enjoy it as well, which always helps  . But untold legends, if done properly, could be tons of fun. Untold legends comes out tomarrow, so hopefully there will be a review up before thurday. I would sure think so.

I somewhat recently decided to get a psp. I thought I wouldn`t, but I am. After this and SC:CT, and maybe mercury, I`m done spending on games for awhile. At least I`m toning down! Anywho, who here is interested in tony hawk, twisted metal, or wipeout pure. I`m trying to figure out what`s better and has more replay value for both single and multiplayer stuff. Anyone care to comment?

BTW, what`s the deal with putting movies or music on this sucker? Is software required for the PC etc? I would only assume so. If so, does it cost anything, or are there free programs available? Sorry I sound like a FAQ, but it`s late  . Thanks.

ROFL. You know what is sad you guys? This game is one of the easiest in the series.
I didn't mind the save system. I thought it was pretty cool, actually. Well some people like having their nipples clipped with clothespins....so there isn't much suffering that someone doesn't like. For me I like it easy. I know that is what I like so I look for games that meet that criteria and this isn't one of them. Lol to that last comment about the nipples! I laughed really hard when I read that.

*Sigh* Is it possible to get thru one thread that contains Nintendo related information without Rage + Hetz getting in their "OMG NINTENDO SUXORS SONY/MS RuL3z!!!111oneone"
Didn't think so... Lol. I`m not saying I remember those two guys being especially negative towards nintendo, BUT...there`s always someone saying something negative about something! Even me sometimes!! Also...there`s always lots of angles to a story. The PSP can NOT do anything like those mini games. No touch screen=no games like that...or like starcraft etc, which are possible only on the ds. Nintendo tried something new, which more people should try. The same old, same old, doesn`t get me too far anymore. Plus like someone mentioned the psp games cost more, the system costs more. Don`t get me wrong the more I look at the psp, I think I might want one, but not to replace my ds, but in addition to my ds. Last night the wife and I had some adult beverages and played warioware touched and mario 64DS. You simply can NOT get that experience anywhere else. The graphics are good on the ds, just not great...yet. I`m sure there will be a few games out later this year and later in the generation that REALLY look nice on the ds. I`m done shooting out my random comments.

http://www.benihana.com/ Good stuff. We try and go about once a year(maybe a few more times than that). It`s so good tasting, but so bad for you with all the salt etc. Everything from watching some dude that barely speak english throw knives around and cook right infront of you, to eating the food is pure joy. Anyone else here a big fan of this, or any other similar places?

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Any other console gamers not care a whit about handhelds?

I really never had one until somewhat recently, and I NEVER thought I would want one. Well, to make a long story short about 2 years ago, I had ALOT of store credit at EB, and I finally decided to grab a (at the time) new model of the gba, the gba sp. I loved the idea of the battery being built in and rechargable. I played the crap out of that thing , and so did my wife thanks to wario ware and mario golf etc. I sold it to grab a DS, and we love it too. Mario 64ds and warioware touched, both keep us very busy and have been a TON of fun so far. It`s great for me. Alot of the snes games I never played before, and same with some of the 64 ports(M64 etc.). I rented mario 64 on the 64, but I didn`t even scratch the surface. I might grab a psp down the road when there are games that interest me, but right now the price is too high, and the games aren`t really my cup of tea. After having these handhelds though, it really opened my eyes on how fun a handheld can be. Sitting on the porch, consuming some beverages, playing a game of baseball, or m64 etc. Good fun.

PNY.... solid as a rock.
I am very very happy with it.
Thumbs up! Good to hear that. I`ve heard good things about PNY stuff. I have a BFG, and I have to say I`m very happy with it as well. the best thing about BFG is their lifetime warranty that isn't invalidated when the card becomes outdated. supposedly, if you have an old card that goes bad, they'll actually replace it with a current card of the same value you initially paid. i've seen reports of people with cards that are a couple years old getting replaced with shiny new top-of-the-line models. you can't be that for customer support. Yea, I`ve read/heard/saw similar things before too. I had to call them once for something and get this...they seemed to know what they were doing  . That`s a rare thing these days  .

It`s a 1.8ghz p4, 768 ddr, geforce 3 ti 200, sblive!, 20 or 40 gb hdd (I can`t remember, but I can surely find out)etc. It`s in good shape, and nothing is wrong with it. I would need to reformat it and reinstall , or at least reformat the hdd and give you the disks etc (windows disks for XP, drivers disks etc).Though I`d give you the disks in either case(obviously). I`ve just been sitting on this thing, and it`s not doing me any good just sitting here. Message me if you want, or email me...[email protected]. Thanks.

I forgot the really obvious. I`ve played counterstrike for 5 or 6 years!!! I seriously have invested some sick amount of time into this game. I used to play it for hours on end. Hours and hours. I did put it down for the most part for a while there, but right when cs:s came out, I started all over again. I don`t play as much as I have in the past, but I`m starting to get addicted again.

I absolutely LOVE the humor in this game. They make jokes about themselves and the game left and right. Funny stuff. If my wife and I weren`t in the middle of playing other stuff, I`d play this with her alongside my ongoing game. She`d love it, it`s just so entertaining as a whole. I`d really recommend this to anyone who does/or doesn`t normally like turn-based games. I`m really picky w/ my selection of turn-based games. Kotor, I tried TWICE to get into...I didn`t like it. Mario and Luigi:superstar saga...I loved it, and still am. I`m not done w/ it yet! Final fantasy tactics for gba I LOVE! Advanced wars 2, I liked quite a bit too.
I guess this PM2 is the first non-handheld turnbased game I`ve enjoyed in years! It is simply a GREAT game.

Wow, thanks. I just saw that "warning, survivor is on tonight" and you saved me from watching it! If I were to "flip" through the channels and come across this and accidently watch it. Ouch! All joking aside...I did like the first season, then I got bored of it. But last time it was on, I got into it a bit (to my surprise). They mixed up enough stuff to make it a bit more fresh, for me at least. I`ll probably give it a go more often now because of that.

The four I've probably played the most times that I've finished each time: -Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS1) ~ Unbelievably good game. My top 2D platformer of all time - uncountable -River City Ransom (NES) (always multiplayer) - uncountable -XCOM (PC) - uncountable -Blaster Master (NES) - uncountable
These are honorable mentions: -Star Control 2 - 8 times -Fallout 1,2 - around 10 each ~ (in fact I think I'll start another round tomorrow!) -Master of Orion 1,2 - uncountable -Master of Magic - uncountable -CIV series - uncountable -Wing Commander series - 5 or 6 times each -Planet's Edge - 4 times -Gran Turismo 2 (PS) - uncountable -Monster Rancher series (PS and PS2) - uncountable -Final Fantasy Tactics (PS) (never finished) - 10 times -Mario 64 (N64) - 15 times -Zelda (NES) - 10 times -Kid Icarus (NES) - 6 times -Wizards and Warriors (NES) - 9 times -Bionic Commando (NES) - 10 times -Trojan (NES) - 8 times -Strider (NES) - 6 times -RC Pro Am (NES) - uncountable -Mike Tyson's Punch-Out (NES) - 12 times -Warp Factor (Apple II) - uncountable -Phantasie Series (Apple II) - uncountable -Wizards Crown (Apple II) - uncountable -Legacy of the Ancients (C64) (played a ton of times but never finished) - 20 times -Eamon Adventures (Apple II) (anyone remember these?) - uncountable
I better stop now...
Everything is approximate and uncountable is over 20 or 25 times. These prolly dont count: Tactical Ops Counter Strike: Source
Ok so that may be a little much to mention here BUT... It sure seems like games can't keep my attention as well as they used to... They just don't make em like they used to.
And now you've forced me to get emulators... Right this second.
OH and..... Starcraft SUCKS!!!! *ducks* Wow, and I thought I replayed stuff alot... Both max paynes I replayed 3 times I believe. Half-life 1 twice I think, and HL2 almost through my 2nd playthrough of it. The original halo on xbox 2 or 3 times, between co-op and just me playing. Prince of persia:sot, once myself and once w/ my wife. I`m sure I will play RE4 once more at least! I know there`s more, I just can`t think of them right now.

Wow, this game really takes off once you get down the road a bit, so to speak.
Spoilers(maybe)...
Once I finished the first chapter this game really takes off. I like how you control the princess and other characters. It`s almost like a interactive cut-scene, where you control other characters but only to advance the story. I loved everything up to this point so far, BUT wow...it really seems to go places after the first chapter. Great game so far!

I wasn`t really looking forward to it, but I thought it would be something that might interest me. Nope. I`m not saying it`s bad, or good really...just not for me. I actually found the demo a little too easy, and some of my friends think so too (they played both the original and PT). that's my only other complaint about the SC sequels...after learning the tricks in the first game, sneaking was very easy. While I do agree with you to some extent, isn`t that like saying "once I figured out how to shoot the gun the fps became really easy" ?

Here`s some info on this if you haven`t heard or read about it yet(Which I find hard to believe)http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/561517.asp It looks like it`s FINALLY coming out next month on xbox(I think other platforms too). After watching some of the movies I`m starting to look forward to this one. It has a crazy look to it, and what appears to be fun platforming action w/ a twist. I`m thinking this would be good(if it gets good reviews and turns out good)for the wife and I to play once we finish beyond good and evil and BG:DA2. Anyone else looking forward to this one?

I enjoyed the first one, but burned out a lot on the second one. The rigidity in the mission structure and the lack of freedom of choice regarding how I played through a given mission all really started to anger me.
The multiplayer was sheer genious, but playing it with random people was awful.
That being said after playing the demo I'm looking forward to the new one. Everything I hear seems to say they've given the player far more input on how they'd like to approach a level. I look forward to the first few reviews. If I hear mention of so much as one "Don't kill anyone" level, I'll pass and be perfectly ok without the game.
If I find out there's no levels with that kind of strict rule in place, then I'll buy it then and there. I guess I`m the only one who liked those missions...it is a stealth game you know  . I can certainly understand though, why some people would NOT like those parts/missions of the game. They did seem to make all of the adjustments that I`ve been waiting for, so I`m crossing my fingers. And I agree about the MP, it rocked. Playing with strangers, not so fun...This time I have a few friends on live who love this game and will be all over it and ready to team up alot. Plus, the co-op looks insanely fun.

I guess depends on how much you paid for it. I got SS for 9.99 NEW at EB just a few weeks ago. I think after HL2 on PC, psi ops big feature, the physics, just seemed far inferior in comparison. That probably took alot of the punch out of that feature, for me at least. And SS had less impressive tech(not much impressed me...), but far more impressive art etc. I also loved the stylized look SS had, maybe at first I didn`t...but it sure grew on me.
