I've got plenty of beer in the cold storage.  Food is in plentiful supply as well, but that won't stop me from purchasing more for immediate consumption.

This is all I'm buying as well, maybe some gas in the car too...

You can also set up your Playstation to upload your saves to the cloud at an off hour (mine does it at 4 or 5 am, I think), and it will also continue downloads that are going on (though not if you've paused the download).

The download speeds at the off hours are a hell of a lot faster.  I've come back to the PS3 some mornings to find that some massive download has completed.

I used to have slow downloads, but as of late it's been fast.

Quote from: CeeKay on June 14, 2012, 11:21:50 PM

forget Zelda, Mario and Donkey Kong, Shigeru Miyamoto wants to go FPS, but not a normal FPS:

Quote
http://Not surprisingly, it doesn't even seem like Miyamoto's dream FPS would be particularly violent—or that violence would be the focal point of it. He seems more enamored by the experience of seeing a new world through gaming's favorite camera angle.

"Rather than necessarily the question of 'What kind of weapon do I have?' in a first person shooter or 'What kind of effect does that have on an enemy?', I think that the structure of a first-person shooter is something that's very interesting," he said through a translator. "Having that 3D space that in theory you are in and being able to look around and explore that—particularly being able to do that in conjunction with another person—is very interesting."

I could see him coming up with something more like Portal than CoD.

What rock has he been living under? It makes it sound like he is only, just now, aware of how a fps works.

I wanna drive this thing, there will be a brake to stop and a gas to go. Gee, I might make them controllable via peddles below a thing called the steering wheel. I'll explain that contraption later!

To report back on Mac performance... Well, 1.02B fucked it up!!! They said it would improve Mac performance but it many cases its way worse. I thought it was a latency issue, but after testing and reading online I found out otherwise. My fps are usually really solid, but out of the blue, when nothing is even intense, they drop to 10, then way back up. Rinse and repeat.

Well, blizzard has recreated it already and is testing it from what I've read on the forums. So that's good. Being horribly addicted to an awesome game, then out of the blue it being unplayable=not fun!

I'm annoyed to read that some story elements are exclusie to co-op since I doubt I'll ever play it.  That's pretty lame.

Quote
Fighting alongside a co-op partner changes the way you play the game. While playing the co-op version of Dead Space 3’s campaign, you will uncover additional story elements, cut-scenes, and battle strategies that are exclusive to this mode. Play how you want - immerse yourself in the classic single-player campaign with Isaac Clarke, then discover how the story evolves when a co-op partner is present in your campaign.

Dude, I will play it with you.

If you're willing to spend an extra $30 when you buy Capcom's upcoming Resident Evil 6, you could also score digital copies of a handful of past classics from the series.

Today, on its blog Capcom-Unity, the company confirmed rumors that there would be special Resident Evil 6 Anthology editions in the U.S.

Resident Evil 6 Anthology will retail for $89.99 and will release on October 2 alongside the standard edition of the game. Interestingly, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game contain different lineups -- with PS3 owners getting six games to the 360's four (though 360 owners will get Resident Evil Degeneration, a CG animated film as well). Still, if you have both systems, PlayStation 3 would be a much better value for the money.

Here are the games included for both systems.

RESIDENT EVIL 6 ANTHOLOGY (PS3)

Resident Evil 6

Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition

Resident Evil 4 HD

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

Resident Evil 2

Resident Evil: Director's Cut

RESIDENT EVIL 6 ARCHIVES (360)

Resident Evil 6

Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition

Resident Evil 4 HD

Resident Evil Code: Veronica X HD

Resident Evil Degeneration (DVD film)

Mac users: blizzard says the new patch made performance better. It already run well for me, but better is better! So I was going to go to bed after this beer on the patio, but after reading this and literally it only took me to see this thread, im hopping on for an hr... Or two...If you can't tell, I love blizzards cool aid!

Did it improve? I've been pretty happy and it already performs well and looks amazing on the 27" imac.

They say it did;). Like I said as well, I've had good performance since the beginning. They didn't specify anything at all, just said Mac performance increased.. It seemed to be no different than before. But with vsync on I wouldn't see the difference if I got, say an extra 5 or 10 more fps. On top of that I didnt play a ton since the patch..

Cool - I'm running on a MBP so I will actually notice a performance improvement... will report back tonight.

Definitely seems to run better.

I can't really notice bc I have vsync on and it doesn't go above 30. A rock solid 30, but no more. Maybe I'll turn shadows up to high instead of medium now!

Funny with me even though I can have shadows on the highest settings in games I always choose none. Partly because I've yet to be impressed with shadows in most games, and partly no matter how fast your rig is, high shadows causes "hitching" sporadically. To each......

Yeah I opted out on turning the shadows higher. They didn't look alot better, so medium it is!

I still have all three of my jobs from previous Sony console purchases.  Tongue. Honestly though, I don't see the big deal with these prices. Ps3 was expensive at launch. My launch one made it 4 yrs and now my slim is goog strong. Vita, while also expensive, not really so much when you consider what tech is in that little guy. That platform should last me YEARS just as ps3 has. Not to start a console war, but in comparison the 4 360's I had cost a hell of alot more than either of those, maybe both even... And for another comparison, with pc gaming you can spend that much every few years to keep a system up to date.

So, while I agree the start up costs on these things aren't cheap, the value per year cost is actually pretty reasonable.
