You are kidding right?   Citizens are really supposed to turn a blind eye to lawbreaking in your opinion?

Have you ever turned a blind eye to software or music piracy?

I wasn't aware that the act of stealing software online or music online could directly kill someone.  hmmm, you live in an odd odd place.

Telling the management = Not a jerk. Good for you for trying to help.
Calling the cops = Kind of a jerk. I doubt you can say under 100% certainty that you know exactly what the situation was.

It's not his job to know what the exact situation is, but it is the cop's job and they will hopefully get to the bottom of it.  If nothing was going on, they will deal with it appropriately.  The act of calling them isn't bad, it's not like they show up and immediately haul everyone away without checking things out.

The police have a rough job.

If you see someone driving drunk, call the cops and give a description.  Maybe they aren't drunk, hell maybe they just dropped a cig and swerved a bit.  Either way the cops can find out.

As an aside, I'm slightly amused that I could have predicted prior to the thread who would say it was a jerk thing, who would say it wasn't and who would fly off the handle.  Some people are very predictable.

Wow, taking a long break from COD4 and coming back is great.  Played with Jarrodhk the whole night and we pretty much dominated every match.  Unfortunately like I said, there was only two of us, we missed the rest of the regular shooter crowd.

I actually went out and was social on the barscene last night since my connection went out.  I'll be on getting double xp most of today and tonight though.  Hope to see ya there.

That's not a game mechanic so I have no idea what's going on with you.  Probably just really bad lag.  I haven't fired it up in a week, been playing COD4 on the 360  ninja

I want my 800 points back. thumbsdown

These are horrible.....HORRIBLE. Chinatown is ridiculous, the worst of the lot, Broadcast is average at best, Creek is nothing but a snipe fest, and the other map can't be played through TDM. Way too much camping, way too much sniping, way too many shotgun/P90 ass clowns jumping and shooting, jumping and shooting, camping all the corners. I hate to say it but the game might have jumped the shark with these maps.

I can't believe this was the best they could do after what....6 months?

It sounds to me like you have fundamental problems with the gameplay itself which has absolutely nothing to do with the new maps. People have been playing that way since the first week the game was out. How you managed to not notice until now is beyond me.

There, that's what I meant to say in a more PC way.  Instead I said it in a way Jblank can understand.  I thought since I saw that rude pm from you that you had taken your comments to pm instead of on the forum, but then I see you calling me an ass here. lol, I take back the nice part of my pm I guess.

I wasn't attacking you personally, I was pointing out the flaws in your logic on why you didn't like the maps.  The only negative I've seen on the maps is some of the spawns are a bit iffy on placement and the cod problem with not shifting spawns soon enough when camping.

Get over it Jblank, not everything said is meant to piss you off.  If you got that mad that people were using shotguns (on a close range map) and sniper rifles (on a large open map) then you have serious issues with how fps' play.  As an added observation, I've played for several hours today and have yet to die to a shotgun on Chinatown a single time and only handfull of deaths to a p90.
8851  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: COD4 map pack -- when? on: April 04, 2008, 08:19:15 PM
The new maps are supposed to be in the rotation of the old maps as well as in the new playlists.  I have the feeling someone screwed that up though.  They might change it when they remove the double xp this weekend.

Not sure where you get any of this from other than maybe the game just isn't for you?  These three maps are much more balanced and better designed than any of the previous ones and I'm loving them all so far.  Any time someone is camping there is at least one way around behind them and often 3.

You bitch that there is too much camping and in the same damn sentence that there is too much shotgun and jumping and shooting.  You do know those are mutually exclusive?  Best for you to just take a break man, set down the controller, and back away.

Killhouse is unavailable in TDM because it's tiny.  You can play it in private matches or FFA though.

The commando in the first game had the most damage up close, but at anything other than CQB it was actually lower damage than a smg.  Dont' know if they changed it, but it's good to know.

I wonder at this point if they will delay a week just so they can time with PS3's weekly Thursday update of the PSN.    That would suck big time.

I believe the weekly update on PSN has been postponed until later in April.  All DLC and patches on PSN are delayed until they update the store.

while still having a blast with the game, I am seeing the issues with lag more and more along with a general clunkiness when trying to rapidly switch weapons.  Combined with the complete retardedness of the players and it's been a bit frustrating.  Still looking forward to friend play though.

I am working on posting some stats after watching the play by play, or at least a portion of it, on the team forums.  I am not real great at analyzing this stuff, so if anyone would want to step up and be the teams Defensive Coordinator, or Offensive Coordinator let me know.

As for play time I have gotten rid of almost every CPU player on the team to keep them from taking playtime from the actual human players.  Seems like regardless of depth chart the CPU puts CPU players in when they don't need to.

I am looking to add a 4th wide receiver to the team.  This past game the cpu 4th receiver still got like 40 plays, but I am pretty aggressive with my stamina settings to try and keep folks fresh, although perhaps too aggressive it looks like.  I am still looking for 2 backup DEs as they seem to burn energy quickly as well as a backup G, C, FB.  I may also need a backup FS and SS, as in the last game the cpu backup at those positions got about 45 plays each.

I'm a bit confused since I only got 45ish plays that game and the previous game I had 90 plays with the same stamina drain yet I didn't change my intensity.  Was this a setting change on your side that did it?  I was a bit surprised that they subbed me out.

The only thing that worries me about RvR is population balance.  I remember playing Midgard on Palomides and Albion having more players than Mid and Hib combined.  Made the frontier pointless unless you had a dedicated RvR team.

Anyway, I'm still looking forward to Warhammer.  As I got my CE pre-ordered already

I'm hoping that only two factions should help that a bit.  Also now Mythic has experience with merging servers for rvr purposes so we might get cross server rvr areas.

I wish I could be so easily satisfied as some of you then, maybe I wouldn't feel like I just threw away the $60.  With the quality of games I've played in this last year, I see no need to put up with the shortcomings of this game.

I also was put off right at the beginning when the exact same bump mapping texture was used on the external shots of the sub and then on the stone walls in the sewer.
8880  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [360] Battlefield: Bad Company beta on: March 28, 2008, 04:30:09 PM
Did have a really laggy game today, was awful.

Also you can shoot doors off with the pistol.

I also had an issue playing on a team where nobody had a clue what they were doing except the entire other team and myself.  Scores on the other team were 150-90 down the list, scores on my team were 180 for me and 30 for second place.  Was the most frustrating thing I've dealt with in awhile.  This game should rock once we can put together our own squads, but the average person has no clue what they should be doing and it is starting to get to me.  Apparently the flashing icon on your map shouting 'COME HERE DUMBASS AND DEFUSE ME BEFORE YOU LOSE!' wasn't enough for them frown

We lost the complete map in under 5 minutes.
